@@finnish_maniac8927 I don’t think set boosters are worth it. There’s only 2 exclusive cards I want from the set boosters, Valkyrie harbinger and canopy tactician. I can get both for 30 bucks instead of trying to get lucky.

Having "Viking" creature type would be like having "Greek" creature type... Vikings aren't a type of creature, they are society. Berserker is the stand-in and that makes much more sense because berserkers were a specific type of viking warrior.
Not gonna lie, I would’ve liked a “Viking” Creature time to build a tribal deck around, I’ve already done Ninjas and Samarui so it would’ve been cool to add
Technically Viking was a profession at this time not everyone in the culture would have been a Viking.

My DNA came back 98% Cornish Celt up to London along the Southern English coastline (a mere 4 hour drive), 1% Black Forest German and noise.
I'm true bred Sea Kingdom Celt, who were at peace with the Viking invasions. My pic is what I look like, playing a Celtic Druid at a LARP event. Play to your strengths is what I say!

Openings like theese really make me question the "content creator boxes".
They all seem to say "man I wonder if all of the boxes are like this?!?!" That's the hook right there.
I sometimes think the same for pokemon tcg but I've had some great boxes.

I'm pretty excited for this set, but I'm usually excited because I get swept up in the hype. I love Angels too so I'm really looking forward to getting my booster box. I'm glad this came up on my recommendations.
I haven’t played MTG in over 5 years and just read about those Saga cards. Holy crap that’s crazy. Don’t play for 5 years and almost feel totally lost. All kinds of possibilities for those cards though. Freakin awesome. I can’t wait til my son is old enough so I can teach him to play. I still have all my cards and I’ve been sorting through them. I should probably pick up some booster packs just to stay up to date on mechanics. MTG is awesome. I miss playing. Had a falling out with the main person I used to play with. That’s why I haven’t played in years. Plus having kids don’t have time to go into card shops and play.

Joey the reason they don’t have a Viking creature type is they wanted it to have synergy with other sets-what other set has Vikings?-and Vikings didn’t define the person like warrior does, it was more of a descriptor of ethnicity or nationality.

Can't wait to see some Collector Boxes opened. I love the art on the showcase cards. Also most the alternate art borderless cards look awesome.
I think this box was made in Japan. That's why you have such a good quality in comparison to MtG products made in the USA. It also explains the different order of cards in the packs like the Rare at the top and not on the bottom.
I was actually just thinking something like this. I watched someone else open theirs and the order was the same but reversed. So instead of the Rare slots being at the beginning they were at the end. Something is definitely up here lol.

Interesting pulls. Perhaps wizards is making draft boxes more appetizing to compete with the set boxes with better showcase/ext art pull rates. After all supply of draft has been reduced for this print run and set increased. And your box was clearly a Japanese print. Set and PR kits printed in USA so it's possible they are playing around...Unless of course you just lucked out with all that extra sauce. Great vid none the less. Cheers sam

As someone who is incredibly passionate about Norse Mythology, this was THE set that got me into Magic.
You never fail to make me laugh Moss Boss!!! The noises and goofy-assed sounds you make when you pull some real value is on point.
I only really play commander. My lgs and playgroup don't really care for snow and this set doesn't have enough chase cards to justify buying boxes. My whole playgroup spent 180 bucks combined to Pre-order the must haves. After last years bombardment of products, we are glad to have a weak set so our wallets can recover and we can enjoy the cards we have barely used so far from 2020. Excited for core 2022 though!

Heyyy I’ve been kinda low in the magic card collecting. I mainly collect for the thrill of trying to find rates and mythics in the booster packs and add ons and all; also for the art. But today open those random booster packs of 15. One for Kaldheim and one the name I cannot remember and got mythic rares!! The excitement though, getting lucky enough. I feel when the mythics are handed to you it takes away the enjoyment. But glad I got to actually feel the pure joy!!

If all regular booster boxes are like this and have the possibility of pulling the cards you pulled, I would've much rather have preferred a bunch of these instead of the collector boxes and set boxes I preordered. If there's nothing other than 1 phyrexian text exclusive to get in the Collectors Edition, I'm gonna feel like a huge tool. Had no idea you could pull multiple extended art and showcase mythics/rares. Smgdh, hope there's a surprise in the CE.

RUDY WAS RIGHT! it wasn't long ago where he spoke about Tap Dual Snow Lands! I think he said Common slot too.. What a time, to think the original Ice Age set was to have Dual Lands.. that is why Plateau looks so snowy with new artwork in Revised. They lost the artwork from ABU and had to commission others.
So glad I preordered 2 boxes of this set. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say this was a higher end box, but still the amount of alternate arts and full arts in a regular box looks good.

It's funny the store I buy from sell the set boxes for 130 dollars but if you buy bulk (6 boxes) they cost 135 each instead.
I like how a good half inch of the top left edge of every uncommon was damaged.
I'm going to say that you got a monster box right there.
The set feels powerful, but it's going to be felt more in the other formats. A couple of cards may even be good in legacy.
And that volki in extended foil, I would sell it asap.

I'm really surprised about the extended art cards. On the WPN website you'll find the following information about the collectors boosters:
"Plus, they're the only Kaldheim packs in the set with extended-art cards-you'll get at least one extended-art card in every Kaldheim Collector Booster, with the possibility of one more in foil."
To all people who is wondering how he’s get set early here’s answer
I’ve heard from some of the folks that work at the big online retailer/LGS here that they do crack packs before street date but are explicitly forbidden from selling before the street date.
I read something before (i think it was on star city) that said they have an algorithm for determining card stock based on the number of cases they bust for singles.
Wizards does absolutely punish retailers for breaking the rules. Same LGS above flouted Wizards for the M10 prerelease (can't remember why, think it was for something to do with drafting the singles stock) but as a result, no Zendikar pre-release was held there, nor will there be a Worldwake pre-release there, either.

i dont rate it that high, just because i really wish wizards was going to try to change the game and make modal cards like the new way to play magic. but it seems like we wont be getting mdfc cards in the near future :/
Ikoria and m21 both had common rarity showcase cards. Ikoria with special art and m21 with special border
I’m happy they made battle mammoth a non legendary, here’s why: if you had him as your commander then you can just completely avoid commander tax (hence foretell) its a 6/5 trample which is generally strong stats for a 4 cost commander, but most importantly: whenever an opponent affects your board you draw cards, which would make it op to an extent that it would be banned faster then oko in commander, it is thankfully just an engine runner and is ineligible to be a commander, I am still very hyped for the card and it’s easily the second best non legendary creature in the set, of course behind quakebringer, and thank god that isn’t a commander either

My guess is that was almost the ceiling for how good the box could be like top 5 to 10 percent.
This set looks like a lot of fun and lot of cool stuff to play with, but one thing i think is that foretell is pretty much just like suspend and that mechanic is great

just bought my first MTG booster packs today! I am a huge Pokemon collector, but with the massive shortage of Pokemon cards right now, I thought I would give Magic a shot as a side collection thing. If anyone would like to give some advice for collecting MTG or any set knowledge people have, I would love to hear it! Im just gonna be doing the collecting side of MTG, I do battle Pokemon but not really feeling like getting into the battling aspect of MTG. BTW MTG cards look OUTSTANDING! The artwork is phenomenal on these cards!

I almost never spend money on arena because I am able to keep my head above water with drafts and tend to build up a healthy crystal and gold stockpile. I bought the 50 pack deal this time because I want the whole set ASAP, Kaldheim is awesome.

I like the set because nothing seems overtly busted. You could argue the world tree is busted but i dont think itll ruin standard like omnath or anything.

I'm sure that wizards probably sends out boxes to content creators that have a higher than normal amount of rares and mythics so that people get excited for them and buy boxes, but then when you buy a box you'll maybe get one good card out of the entire box. Every box that he opens before release has a ridiculous amount of rares and mythics in them but I've never seen a box have as many good pulls as the ones that he opens prerelease
Yeah it's very sketchy. He should at least be honest and say where the box came from. It's not cool to have people thinking this is realistic.
Man honestly out of one box of commander legends I got a foil vampiric tutor,scroll rack,hull breacher,sakashima of a thousand faces and so much more no jeweled lotus but didnt care about it to begin with Haha was more happy about the hull breacher than that jeweled lotus but my value on the cards were close to $200 and I got the box for $100 so made my money back was awesome so in saying that it is possible to get everything good but damn joey
Vorinclex is what I really want for a commander build I have going on since I knew this card was confirmed.
Don't think of toski as a creature. Think of it as a indestructible card draw engine that can sometimes draw you a card itself

As a commander player, I'd rank the set a 7 or an 8. Lots of good, great cards in the set. The snow is great across all play. Lots of tribal which is good but not for everyone.
I rate this set a 4 and I'm being generous.

But nothing crazy awesome or too overwhelming for me. I'd buy 3 or 4 singles and be done...
