For anime, I think only B-Tier and lower duelist used Negate Attack. A-Tier and above used either Mirror Force, Magic Cylinder, or some niche trap that exclusive to them that's related to battling.

Negate attack is a counter trap so most of the time opponents cant react. Also the counter fairies have synergy with the card.

I think what makes him separate from others is that he runs Ring of Destruction. Popping & Damage infliction is scary.
