Got Larry Zbyszko's name wrong in the timestamp 😜
Kevin Nash said it best about Hogan:"If I could pick working with someone for a year it would be Hulk because im not going to get injured and ill make a ton of 💰!"
The greatest pop I've ever heard or seen was when Hogan kicked out of the Rock Bottom at WM X8 and he hulked up for the first time in 9 years in that company. The crowd did this sort of weird double pop that I've never experienced before. Unreal.
Because they were blasting crowd effects through the speaker that was 2nd pop classic wwe they do it on tv shows
@@DonSmith2323 So with that logic we could say that was done with every PPV "pop" and not just Rock/Hulk so then you can try to stop an attempt to minimize his impact on wrestling and shit on him because he didn't drop the belt back and forth 30 times or have Angle or Bret-like in ring performances ?
Huh...Wrong.. i love hulkster when i was a kid in early 80s i had hulk workout set and his album and seen him at Niagara Falls Convention Center 87'88. But now he's just a pathological liar and racist and a scumbag. and WWE does add crowd noise are you saying they dont..look it up.they've done it since early 90s and calm down because you sound like a Hulk Markster and dont take comments so seriously or you end up looking quite unhinged.
I still get goosebumps whenever I re-watch it.
Definitely gotta keep these longer compilations coming, chief! Sheeeeit, this way, I can just listen while I'm working 💪
Yeah I love the either full interviews or longer compilations
Hogan knew how to work the crowd.
Like nobody else, he knew how to pop them with a single look.
Hulk knew crowds he knew what people wanted his american wrestling matches were kinda easy but his japanese wrestling is unbelievable which means he made the most for very little effort to me that's awesome
Thank you for the interviews.Hollywood Hogan 4life!!
These interviews are excellent. As a fellow (low scale) podcaster these are greatly admired. Well done again

as a 7 year old in 81 ...I started becoming a wrestling fan when cable TV came to New york , and Georgia wrestling was piped up to NY....certain wrestlers legit gave me nightmares....Abdullah the butcher for obvious reasons , and stan Hansen was just so angry....what a performer
Thanks for compiling these, my favourite podcast out there.
This was a great video. I know that Hogan gets criticism from some talent etc. But we will never see another Hulk Hogan , he was truly bigger than anyone on the planet apt the time.
Yep. Hulk was/is the best and tons of wrestlers from that era speak really highly of him behind the scenes. I think he gets some bad press from his WCW (where he had creative control with his character).
Bad press from WCW 🤔 outside of refusing to put bret over after WrestleMania 9, refusing to lose clean ever. Everyone puts Hogan on same crazy level even though Andre and Piper were just as big and were in way better movies. Hogan was only on that level because the guy on the other side and not the other way around.
Another entertaining upload! Very impressive work 👏
Jacques Rougeau makes me smile , seems like a good man 🙂
"I judge a wrestler on how good they were by how much money they drew." - Steve Lombardi...so I guess Lombardi and I are roughly the same at wrestling.
That reminds me of the Al Snow shoot where he said something similar, and in the next shoot he was a part of, someone mentioned it and asked if by his own logic, that makes Al Al Snow a horrible wrestler.
Alot of guys share this belief. Even Bobby Heenan said "People say Hogan can't work but if you could put butts in the seats you can work". Me personally I use the term good wrestler and I take drawing power into account. I use the term worker and I don't take that into account.
The thing is, Lombardi worked with a ton of these guys as they came up. I'm pretty sure being a full time job guy, while sounding silly, is actually a really crucial job and Lombardi is probably the best known at it. No one paid money to see a Brawler match, but they did pay a ton of money to see all the guys he helped build.
Plus this interviewer is a suck ass
16:00 I can relate to him so much regarding this topic from everything I've done with acting, pro wrestling, filmmaking, writing, college, military...I sob like a baby daily
I’ve always found that Jacques Rougeau interviews really well. Comes across very honest, sincere and genuine. Seems like a good dude. Always remember him as a kid as The Mountie and then The Quebecers in the 90s.
I remember him as the fabulous rougeou brothers when they were baby faces then heals... they were entertaining... there theme song was epic tooo.
@@BRISKETandWATERCRESS Very cool. I’ve seen some of that stuff looking back. Very early 1991 was when I first watched WWF. Don’t watch it now, absolute shower of shit. Lack of character & story. Titles moved around like pass the parcel. Love hearing of old stories.

Basically what I get outta this is that a lot of these former wrestlers is jealous of Hogan, for the fact that he was very successful in his career.. y’all Hogan haters must realize that if it wasn’t for Hogan these wrestlers that y’all think is the 🐐 wouldn’t be able to showcase their talent on the platform that it’s on, or have the bank accounts they have.. Hogan changed wrestling forever and that is why he is and always will be the GREATEST OF ALL TIME 💯
Agreed.
I like the old school graphics for the names! Good choice!
A Cup of Coffee in the Bigt Time. Havent heard that in a while. Good show Lanny
Hulk Hogan is the Babe Ruth of wrestling. Ric Flair Ty Cobb.
I’ve come to the opinion that I obviously am the only person who doesn’t have a macho man impression 🤣
Lmao at the start with the Brooklyn Brawler, he seems like a stand-up guy, doesn't have 1 mean bone in his body
The answer to your question regarding Hogan losing 59lbs during his WCW debut was his cold turkey drop of the huge injectable testosterone during the Vince McMahon steroid trials. He had to be able to pass a steroid specific drug test at any time for an extended period of time. Someone that has been on a significant amount of exogenous testosterone for long periods of time, then halts that cold turkey will lose MASSIVE amounts of muscle and all around mass, this was the case in that time period, and it was HUGELY noticeable at that time!
Ngl he looked great in those years!
Second that. He looked faaaar less bloated and far more defined.
Not sure if it's really just because of the steroid trial. He did Thunder in Paradise.
His character wasn't supposed to be huge and bulky. TV producers preferred a lean, fit look
Brooklyn Brawler + Pat Patterson sitting in a tree....

Nobody outsold Hogan for such a long time
I think People that dislike Hogan are probably just jealous they couldn't do what he did.The same goes for warrior just cause they weren't technicians doesn't mean they weren't over.
True, but warrior's problem is that he didn't love the business or didn't seem like fans approaching him I recall taker talking about it on the Tyson podcast hogan on the other hand his his faults but he loved the business and always showed loved to the fans.
Hulk Rules
Thanks for not making this a hogan hit piece like many CZcams people do
why? hogan earned the heat coming his way. he was a trashcan of a human being and screwed over everyone around him.
@@Baneslayer As this compilation shows, clearly many of the people who worked directly with him disagree with you.
@@zciliyafilms5508 Doesn't change any facts. Lots of people look the other way for their "idol".... flaws are ignored. Hulk is a trashcan of a human. This is a fact.
@@Baneslayer The only thing that's a "fact" in your statement is your inability to know the difference between "fact" and "opinion", one which many people who know him personally way more than you ever will disagree with.
I got right to the end but couldn't watch it due to the run in DQ finish..
Just hated the fact they didn't have a finish, I think i know why but still.
37:26 Eugene, that was WM21, not XX. Not that it makes much difference. He put you over as much as HHH with his shovel.
You can't argue that Hogan was a bad worker. Watch his first match with Warrior. He out-wrestled him and Warrior was blown 10 minutes into the match,
Hogan was an elite worker, as a performer sure he wasn't the best but he was good enough to get by especially for 300 pounds top guy with a crazy schedule.
Over an hour you say eh..
"Everyone shoots on Hulk Hogan!".......😂😂😂kinda sus
out of all the people in this compilation. i think if i could choose 3 to party with it would be the godfather, rvd and mike chioda
No why
U know weirdly who I miss don't remember all but big boss man lol he was heel n bad guy good character tho
Hogan's only wrestling moves are: Boot to the head and leg drop. The End!
And with those 3 moves he drew more money all those doing flipy shit you got today.
Steve Lombardi was riding with Hulk Hogan for two reasons.. 1) Because he needed a mule to carry the weed when Brutus wasn't there. 2) Because if they ever had a piss test, Lombardi would piss clean.
Your 1000% right somebody had to carry the coke and weed. Hogan was a chump who got lucky cuz he was a roof head just like ultimate warrior but warrior had personality hence why he was so popular. Hogan was popular because he was pretty much the only choice he was shoved down our throats.
@@dvlexotics2177 that has to be the dumbest take on here today. Really? Hogan was shoved down people's throats and that's why he was over? Are you 12 or is that just your IQ? Warrior was a flash in the pan who only is talked highly of because he died how he did. Hogan opened so many doors and wrestlers wanted to be on his card because it sold out no matter who was across from him for 30 years. Warrior had 3 years and fell apart and got too big for his head

@@dvlexotics2177 he’s right, you got 💩 for brains
@@dvlexotics2177 Hogan didn't get shoved down everybodys throat. Back in the Late 80's People would have made Riots when Hogan wasn't at a Match Card. They absolutely loved Hogan back than. This is why he is one of the most talked about wrestlers ever. He wasn't the greatest worker back then, not even close to perfect, but this guy was damn entertaining and I believe many people would buy WWE PPV's and Tickets to shows only because of Hulk. It's much different than to Reigns in 2015/16 or Cena in the late 2000's when you could hear the distain of the crowd against these two. But dude, watch back the old Wrestlemanias and hear that ovation when Hogan comes out.
Easy on Brooklyn Brawler thinking were all Marks...WTF F×+king Jobbers. then he broke the internet with his Macho man impression
Hulk Hogan screwed over all wrestlers once he told Vince that Jesse was trying to unionize the wrestlers - can’t believe these guys still don’t have a union
WWE and UFC are in the same boat, unfortunately. Regardless of Hogan, they're never going to unionize. Mainly because there's an endless crop of would-be scabs, just dying to get their shot in the big time.
Why union? The wwe wrestlers don’t get paid enough?
@@freedom2084 the majority of wrestlers are broke, in poor health, have no savings , no pension and no health benefits- do some research, they really are exploited with zero protections
@@epappas1035 Most wrestlers were paid very very well. In the 70’s and 80’s. Also the 90’s. Even in the territory days people were making thousands a week. If people spent all there money you can donate to them
You'e a fool. One man doesn't stop a union, if all the wrestlers wanted to unionise, it would have happened. And since Hogan, why didn't Austin and Rock start one, or Cena, or Roman Reigns? It's because NOBODY wants a union in wrestling. Blame Hogan all you want, its a cop out.
Papa Shango > The Godfather
he took down gawker so he cant be that bad
Lots of guys slammed Andre, right?
True, but none of em had a bigger impact than what happened on mania 3.
Seriously they talk about warrior not drawing well and he isn't a pimple on peak Hogan's ass but once they put the belt back on Hogan I doubt business really improved and Vince probibly would have mov d on but Hogan say what you want he is a very smart business man if it was good for Hogan it was usually good for everybody else cause it drew money so Hogan went to WCW and he wasn't nearly as high a draw their as he was in the 83-89 but he certainly help WCW then he turned heel and started the 2nd biggiestboom since hulkamsnia

How can the Brawler travel with Hogan for two years and not learn he was full of s__t?
I totally don't believe the André stories.
Maybe he didn't learn it because he wasn't. But, I mean, I guess you know better?
Hogan was huge...!biggest ever
I'll respectfully disagree
I'd rather watch wrestlers SHOOT Hogan...
Amazing how everyone is all on hogans nuts but they discredit all the top talent who helped hogan as well
I agree Steve saying Hogan could wrestle with a broom and make it good I disagree. Flair absolutely could randy could even heart could but Hogan needed that other person to make him look good.
@@dvlexotics2177 I think Brawler was meaning figuratively in the sense he was so charismatic people would still be invested. Hogan got a great match out of Warrior, got through a match with a crippled Andre, had amazing matches with Great Muta, Hansen and others in Japan. He was trained by Matsuda, he could be just as technical than Flair. The WWF crowds didn't want that style and finesse, they wanted the babyface brawler he became.
@@samanthabowers2622 Hogan himself said he is a horrible worker it's probably the only thing he told the truth about lol... Hogan was popular he was big he put asses in seats but he wasn't a very good worker at all... Now warrior was also a horrible worker but he actually knew quite a bit about being a worker he just didn't care enough about the business. He wanted to be rich and famous didn't care a bit about wrestling where Hogan loved the business he just couldn't be a worker and he didn't have to be as we all know now he became a wrestling legend like flair Dusty Andre ect ect which were all great workers including Andre in his earlier days Andre was doing hip tosses and drop toe holds
@@dvlexotics2177 Again, wrestlers trained by Matsuda know how to work, Matsuda would not have completed training with someone who didn't, ergo, Hogan knows how to work. His AWA and WWWF work was completely different, do yo think Warrior, after 2 years could have a 30 minute match with Buckland??, I mean c'monnn lool He wasn't a worker because of the American fans who, to quote JR, loved the sizzle not the steak. Did Warrior have matches in Japan or ge invited over continually?, of course not because yo have to know 'how to work' to wrestle in Japan. Not to mention physically, if Hogan 'worked' like a smaller wrestler his career never would have been as long.
@@dvlexotics2177no he didnt, dude.

Different characters and Ric was heel most of the time... It's his job to get the babyface over
HOGAN IS THE GOAT…..
Flair could 100% wrestle a broomstick and make it great.. Hogan hmmmm probably not he needed the other guy no matter who but it had to be a human..
Flair is, was and always will be the same routine, boring and always underwhelming.
Terry is a backstabber, and he’s a terrible wrestler
Hogan will always be better than Steve Austin to me, even though Steve Austin was great, Hogan was on top when i was a kid in 1984-1991
A lot of people want to say that Austin and the rock reached higher levels than Hogan did but what they fail to realize is they had a bigger platform to launch from then Hogan did . Had Hogan had everything available to him in the 1980s that those two had in the 2000s, Hogan would’ve been out of this universe. Hogan didn’t have the benefit of two live weekly shows every week. He didn’t have the benefit of 12 pay per views every month. If you wanted hulk hogan T-shirt you had to go to the arena to get it. If you want an Austin or rock T-shirt you could go on the Internet and get it. Hogans merchandise sales would’ve blew those two out of the water had he had all that available to him in the 80’s
