    The train must be an economic failure - fuel costs for 2 loco's !!! I remember the mg section having no banker loco, the ydm4 handled it by itself

      Bcoz punalur aryankav is ghat section .There exists gradients about 1in80....So there is chance to wheel slip if there is rain,.To avoid such scenario banking engine to be provided....

      I think its because of the ghat section.
      Steep ghat section portion towards Punalur side starts from this station

      No need of it. It is a prestigious service of this qln-sct section which is 115 years old. There is more than 2 daily services from tvc towards chennai like chennai mail, chennai superfast, ananya puri, ac express. It's enough , no need of extension.
