I have great memories of my memere and pepere, (Canadian French for Grand parents) I remember they'd have an old tin canister full of oreo's under one of the counters. Sometimes the Oreo's would be changed out with sugar waffers, or chocolate chip cookies. Pepere would have either butterscotch, or cinnamon candy.
