This PRIVATE ISLAND is in Nicaragua??!! Our Calala Island Travel Vlog

- We explored an exclusive PRIVATE ISLAND hideaway in the undiscovered Caribbean of Nicaragua in this travel vlog.
Calala Island is ultra all-inclusive. The average cost per night is $2,300 and includes everything from transportation to the island (from Managua, Nicaragua), accommodations in one of 4 suites, meals, adult beverages, and activities. If you are up for an adventure to make the trek to the island, we highly recommend it.
Getting to Calala Island was an adventure - it included an international flight, a domestic flight, taxi rides, and a traditional open-top speed boat.
This was our last international trip together as Josh is now in heaven. We visited and filmed this video in January 2021. I am so thankful that we were able to experience this private island together. Josh was an amazing human and had a podcast to help people overcome life's challenges. Why did you stop posting more travel videos? You two are so great with capturing the beauty of traveling.
Amazing!! seems like you guys had a fun time. We really want to book this too but still hesitate bc everyone said the boat ride is horrible. It didn't seem soo bad lol
Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment. If you don't have any injuries that would be activated, it should be fine! Half of it is your attitude knowing it and if you expect it to be a trek, it's ok. They told us the best time to go is April/May because the water is pretty smooth.
@@LifeisGoodTravel Awesome!! Will definitely book a trip here in the future. Thanks for the tips
Awesome.
Thanks for watching.
great video😊
Thank you 🤗
@@LifeisGoodTravel thanks to you for filming👍👍
Beautiful place
It really is!
My beautiful place Nicaragua ❤

Hello! Your country is beautiful!
Nicaragua tiene bonitas playas
Si - muy bonitas playas!!
I’m so sorry for your loss…what a beautiful memories he left you with… if you don’t mind me asking, what did he die of? He was so young…

How big were the swells on the boat ride there and back? Looks amazing but I’m a little squeamish about treacherous boat rides after our recent Fiji trip. Definitely had a few that were more adventurous than anticipated 😱
Oh gosh - not sure how big they were but it we never felt unsafe - just a little rattled.
What month did you go???
Hi!, I want to know how mucho does it cost, to get you there, cause I’d like to visit that beautiful island.
The plane ticket to Managua airport depends on where you are coming from and which airline you take. Once you are in Managua, the hour flight and boat are covered in the resort's ultra all inclusive rate - they take care of everything.
Is gratuity included or are you tipping the servers?
I am going this week for a week! I have a few questions. I read some reviews on tripadvisor/travel websites about sandflies... how did you guys manage dealing with that? were there a lot of bugs? Which activity do you recommend the most (it is going to rain a lot next week)? How is snorkeling? How is wifi? Thank you in advance!
How exciting that you are visiting Calala Island! You are in for a treat!! We didn't have issues with sandflies but would use the bug spray on the tops of our feet and ankles which may have helped?! The island hopping was our favorite activity but we also enjoyed the sunrise picnic they set-up for us. Most of the activities are outdoors so you'll just have to gauge the weather -- the staff will recommend the best things to do. We didn't snorkel. The WiFi was great! No issues at all.
I have to show this to steve terreberry 😂
Who is that?
Hello, oh wow good video, but I have a question! How is the cost a lot of people say that it's so expensive to visit this island 🏝️ but let us know! Please, so sad for your lost!
Yes, it is expensive but we used Hyatt points so our stay was free. It costs 40,000 Hyatt points per night.
How much did you end up tipping in total? How was covid testing? Did you take American? How many days did you stay? Do you think 3 nights is enough? What month did you go? I have so many questions lol. Sorry If you addressed this in the video, I am trying to surprise myself with part of the experience.
We were there before the COVID test back to the US was required. We were there 4 nights and don't recommend anything less than 3 nights because of the trek to get there and get back. On the day we left, we had to leave at 5AM to catch our flight back to Managua.
@@LifeisGoodTravel thank you so much
So where’s the follow up video with the points redemption details?😢
What month was this and where did you book it? What price?
We went in January and used Hyatt points.
$12,000 for a one night? Is that insane or what!
how much do we usually tip there
I can't recall but if you email the resort, they will give you the recommended rates. You literally have a staff of 20 people serving you and the 3 other bungalows. They staff are incredible!
How much was the whole trip there?
We used points but its a $10k plus cash trip
🇭🇳🇭🇳🇭🇳
Thanks for watching our video.
How did you get to stay for free?
Hyatt points
How'd you get there, nobody ever says like wtf! Lol
🤔
Did you watch the video? There is a whole section at the end detailing how they got there 🤣🤣
How much does it cost to stay in Calala island?
We used points but rates are $2k plus per night depending on the time your visit.
We’re can I book the stay?
I lived in nica for 5 years.. prefer the Pacific side.. it’s too humid and hot on the Caribbean side.
Wow - what a great experience!
😳😳😳💦🌊
Thanks for watching
That abandoned island may be Clinton Island
Oh thanks for sharing!
