Those boots are absolutely gorgeous!! The patina on them is beautiful!
Glad you like them!
Finding a pair you can leave at the door, wear with anything, that offer comfort and require less thought---this is a very good thing particularly for those active activity days. 😎 All joshin' aside, these are great boots and a good example of how wearing hard makes for a better fit, a good day.
Active activities 😂 My use of the English language is memorable for all the wrong reasons 😂
And well said! Whites says State Farm isn’t the only good neighbor haha
Keeping it simple WORKS. Enjoy your world class boots.
I literally got these same boots in the same color except with half lug soles a few weeks ago. They are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever had and they look great. I was relieved that the CXL8 on mine were not bright red rather eggplant color. I got E width thanks to your first video and they are perfect. The QC on my pair was excellent btw. Thanks dude.
Nice!! Super glad you had a good experience on your first try. They really are great. I too was glad it’s an eggplant and not a ruby red haha…Enjoy those boots!
I know what you mean about White's boots. Maybe they aren't rare or "special" but they end up being my best boots that I wear the most. Similar feeling about my iron rangers, not special or expensive, but I end up liking them more than my fancier pairs.
Ah yes, IR is in the same boat for sure. Sometimes I forget why the classics are classics haha
oh man, what a PATINA 🤩
😂 thanks brother!!
The most Favorite leather color for Me 😍🥰❤
Purchased both the Whites Chore Boot and Whites Fulton Boot, Size 10.5D on Brannock and went with 10D on both. Will be buying a Whites Packer soon and probably an MP boot as well. Hopefully sizing is similar with the lasts. Whites emailed me saying with the higher arches you can get away with a full size down but the MP boot arch doesn't look to substantial. Good reviews as always brother.
Cool! Yeah, standard advice with the other lasts is 1/2 down from Brannock (55, C461 etc). Those all sound awesome!
I have had an interesting experience with the MP last. My first pair i ordered true to size (at least i think i know my brannock), which after years feel fine (wouldn't recommend). The second pair I bought I got a C width instead of going down a half or full size. I didn't know anything at the time so I was just guessing really. To me the C width is like a whole different boot, it almost looks like a different last! It fits very very well except for a small amount of pinky-toe rub in one boot. What I mean by well is that there's no sagging at all anywhere, the shaft fits perfectly, there is no heel lift whatsoever and I think the ball alignment is good. It's probably the closest thing to a custom fit that I can get.
However, I am also of the thinking that being a half size or width off doesn't really make that big of a difference since they are leather. But fun to talk about.
Wish the video was longer! Thanks dave
Glad you liked the video! And the C sounds cool. I’d be interested to know what your Brannock is if you get it updated on a Brannock device, with the arch length and everything. In any case, cool boots!
@@thevintagefuture6567 I really should do that!
Same size skinny low volume foot here and grinding through same 9.5D pinky toe rub 😅 ! But nice not to be swimming in my boots for once, they’re tighter than ticks right out of the box. Love the hefty construction too, went with commando half sole for Denver’s icy sidewalks. Fun video thx for sharing !
Sorry, just now getting to some of these videos but I love my MP’s. They are not the cleanest construction but are tanks built to the same standards as the logging boots. The last was perfect for my foot. No break-in, just fits. I’m a 12B and down to a 10.5D. There is enough room in the toe box that my toes are not touching the end ever. If I were to be completely correct, an 11C would probably have a better crease, but these are the only boots that fit me without an insert. Mine are black Chromexel and don’t have near the wear yours do, but I’m looking forward to getting there.
Yours sound awesome! I find it fascinating the different sizing folks use with PNW boots haha…This last truly does wonders for skinny feet. I’m not quite as skinny as yours (C width), but for me as well, it’s one of the most snug boots I’ve had right outta the box.
Awesome wear on this pair. Love the silhouette too!
Thanks! Good to hear from you. I hope your shop is doing well these days!
@@thevintagefuture6567 you're welcome. Good to hear from you too!
Working currently on my 20th pair and I'm happy how all works.
Great video and the boots look fantastic.
Thank you 🙏🏽
Regret not ordering a pair of Nick’s when they had the color 8 just a while ago
Another great video Dave. Have you ever tried Tricker’s boots? I don’t see a review from you but I think you’d quite enjoy them. DR has some pretty cool exclusive makeups as well. Cheers.
Hey! Thank you!
I like Trickers, but a couple retailers told me their lasts are too roomy for my super skinny feet. I think most people wouldn’t have this problem with their feet. But you’re right, Trickers is super cool!
@@thevintagefuture6567 I hear that. Unfortunately I’m also a skinny footed gent and stayed away from Trickers for the longest time. But then I threw caution to the wind and tried boots in the 2298 last, and I’m hooked. IMO the 2298 is no roomier than a TruBalance and actually fits my skinny foot better. I’m a 10.75C brannock and the UK10 is perfect. One down from US brannock size seems to be the ticket (ie 10.5 brannock -> UK9.5).
Oh man, that’s great! Super cool- maybe I’ll check it out sometime then
Those look fantastic man. I was just about to say they look like my Brooklyn Clothing Vibergs haha
😄 yeah, heavily inspired by those Bergs. If they were MTO I definitely would have also asked for a black contrast tongue haha
I have a pair of plain toe burgundy half lug. Excellent boots
Gorgeous boot, the brass hardware was a major upgrade, and some of those shots are worthy of hanging on a wall.
I just got a pair in natty CXL with mini lugs. Can’t wait to see how they look in 5 years!
Hahaha thanks! And yeah, I was super glad with how the hardware change turned out. Your natty pair sounds killer! Those will age like a fine wine haha
I hope the stitching on my boots won't look like that...
I’ll never understand this current trend of beating the hell out of a boot and then calling the damage “patina”
What should we do with our boots instead?
Has anyone used these boots for work and what was the outcome?
I use these for side-jobs (electrical work) and house projects and hiking, but I haven't submitted them to the rigors of a daily construction jobsite. They seem to have held up fine. They're tough as nails. Much more durable than the boots I used to wear when I was in construction daily.
I'm wearing a 9.5D in my old alden 405 boots and a 10D in Docs. What size would you recommend in these? I really want to get a PNW cap toe but may want the 55 or 5050 last for arch support. The Cinnamon Waxed color works for me.
It’s hard to say which size, cuz Whites Barrie last is quite a bit different than those other boots you described. Do you know your Brannock measurement from a Brannock device?
@@thevintagefuture6567 I believe my foot was measured a 10 on the brannock but I am unsure of my width.
Ok nice - how do the Aldens and Docs fit? Are they roomy? Extra width on the sides? Or pretty snug? Tight instep?
@@thevintagefuture6567 I wear Darn tough standard weight boot socks and the Aldens are relaxed but still snug and my toes have room, but I can wear the DT thicker extra cushion heavyweight with them in winter and the boot is snug but still comfortable for year round wear. I have to wear superfeet green inserts in my docs and pretty much do the same socks. I can barely wear those now since I need some arch support.
Sounds like you need a 10D in the 55 or 5055 last. The MP Barrie has no real arch support. You might wear a 9.5, but it’s hard to tell from here. For 55 and the like, you usually go down 1/2 from your Brannock, so maybe double check your Brannock on a Brannock device before getting some of these.
These boots don’t look sustainably sourced
😂
