The guy in the car Scott landed on is Garrett Morris. He was the first ever live-action depiction of Ant-Man. He played the character during a comedy segment on Saturday Night Live.

Fun fact: Hank Pym's Ant-Man and the OG Wasp were OG Avengers in the comics. OG team was Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, and Ant-Man and The Wasp.
He also was physically abusive towards his wife.

This is one of the best examples of the Marvel formula working. It has quality actors, a bit of sincerity under some goofy humor, small connections to the MCU's world building, and pushing the edge of f/x technology. To this day I think the de-aged Michael Douglas in the open is near flawless.

This was basically another risk the MCU had to take. Like, how could you even make a movie out of a Marvel Comics superhero like Ant-Man? Well, with a bunch of funny moments, Paul Rudd and a decent heist movie plot, the possible can be possible. Even Anthony Mackie was somehow okay with a cameo as Falcon in this; even though let’s be honest, he’s the only Avenger the studio could afford at the time.
It also helps that they chose the Incorrigible Ant-man not the OG character.
Paul Rudd makes every movie fun, and I really liked this script. Can't wait for you to see, Ant Man and the Wasp.
Next, Captain America Civil War. That movie is going to blow your mind Kristen.

That’s something that also hurt the 3rd ant man. That’s not having his 3 friends in it, the comedy they bring to these movies is great also a post credit scene showing what happens to the main villain leading into the original A5-A6
One of the MANY things that hurt Ant-Man 3.
Yeah you know just the concept of Ant-Man in general is goofy ASF and Scott Lang especially so it REALLY needs to lean into the Comedy more than a lot of the characters to carry a movie. Characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and the Hulk are overly exaggerated versions of real life things and characters whereas Ant-Man isn't.

The only thing wrong with the 3rd movie was they totally botched MODOK.
If the name on the front said James Gunn everyone would be gushing how quirky and different it was.
This touches on things from "The Incredible Shrinking Man" from 1957. In the end of the movie, he keeps shrinking and goes subatomic forever.

If the cut-aways during Luis's monologues feels Familiar, it's because of Edgar Wright ("The Cornetto Trilogy"). He signed on in the Beginning of the Movie, but Quit during shooting... That's why he only got Writing Credits.

In Marvel comics, the first Avengers team were created by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby. They consisted of Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, Ant-Man, and The Wasp.
[AVENGERS 1 COMIC BOOK SPOILERS]: Loki did some mind tricks to manipulate Hulk into destroying a railway line. He then told Thor what Hulk was doing so Thor would try to stop Hulk. His goal was to get Hulk & Thor into a slugfest.
Iron Man independently heard the news over the airwaves of Hulk's destruction. Henry Pym (Ant-Man) & his then girlfriend Janet Van Dyne (Wasp) also heard the news. All of them showed up to stop Hulk. Thor knew Loki was behind it all and convinced the others to team up together to defeat and capture Loki. They all worked so well as a team they decided to remain as a group. It was Janet who came up with their team name - The Avengers.
Thor was told by Loki, Hank, Janet, and Tony heard about it from a radio S.O.S from Rick Jones.
The Mexican guy in Fury, Shooter, and a true story about first Mexican astronaut!
Loved the reaction. The first post-credit scene leads into the sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. The second post-credit scene sets up Captain America 3(aka Captain America: Civil War).Captain America: Civil War is one of the most important MCU movies. After Ant-Man is where the MCU starts getting interesting twists.

🔴 Fun fact: when Scott takes his first test drive of the suit he ends up on top of a guys car. The guy in the car is played by Garrett Morris. He was one of the original cast members of Saturday Night Live and he did a sketch where he portrayed Ant Man for the first time in live action.
Every time they introduce a new MCU hero, they need to add a reason why they don’t get involved with the Avengers right away. In this case, it’s because Hank Pym has history with the Stark company and wouldn’t trust Tony to be responsible with his technology.

The first 2 Ant-Man movies are among my favorite films in the MCU, up there with the Spider-Man movies.
Also if I could pull just 2 pieces of technology out of this universe from 2008,2015 movies. It would be the arc reactor and Pym particals. Nearly unlimited clean energy and the ability to build a garden building many stories tall that can grow enough food for thousands of people that’s perfect

One of my favorite marvel movies tbh.
This is one of the best Marvel movies out there. People don't give it as much props. The dialog and action and closeup shots were all 🔥 another gem in Marvels movie bag when it was at the peak of its stories. (Antman 2 was kinda underwhelming yet still.entertaining and the 3rd was decent but not as great as how awesome the original played out)
Next is Civil War, can't wait for that reaction. Kristen's mind is going to get blown watching that movie.

This is the strength of what Marvel corp has done with their writer and director choices. They have been able to take seemingly ridiculous second rate comic characters like Ant Man and Guardians of the Galaxy and make great movies from them.

Phase 3 is when the MCU really got fine tuned and pretty much all films leading to Infinity War were good. The weakest ones were still decent entertainment the great ones were up there between the best of the MCU.

Ant-Man is one of my favorite little sub-franchises in the MCU: light-hearted and goofy enough to be fun and casual, yet serious in exactly all the places it needs to be. A refreshing change of pace...
Or at least, until Disney went off the rails with it...
I still love this movie , but now looking back , if Hank and Janet ere of avengers members this movie would’ve been a good way to introduce Scott.

Hank won't give Hope the suit because it's too dangerous and he might lose her too. But he has no problem risking Scott who has a small daughter who adores him. It's almost like he's willing to risk or kill anyone else for the sake of his daughter. 😉
