  • 'There is a 4th Dimension,' a progwave (?) track created and performed with the Roland SH-4d Synthesizer. Pink Floyd meets John Carpenter, or something 😄 I love this little box. đŸŽč ❀ đŸ”„

Reminds me on some songs on Elo's (Electric Light Orchestra) "Out of the Blue" and "Time" albums.

Amazing, I love the modulated distortion on the lead. Did you record the modulation live or is it an lfo?

Long time no see, Robert. I just recently began using my SH-4D and I am actually blown away so far. I'm using it mainly as a sound module together with my XM and all connected to Logic Pro X as the core recording and sequencing setup. I use the patterns as patches with different parts and it seems to work. The only slight annoyance so far is having to write to memory every single change you make to a tone. But, hey, it only takes a few seconds really. The onboard effects are next level too, wow. I've yet to play around with the oscillator in order to achieve kind of sequenced oscillator patterns. All the best, Mike/Mikotron

Hello Mike! I was just telling someone elsewhere that combining the Xm/SH/DAW (Zenology) is next on my list!

@@RobertSaintJohn Yes, quite. The SH-4D is its own thing regarding sound engine right? What I love too is being able to use it as a sketch pad for ideas. It's a high quality sound module/synth and groove box. Pleased so far.

@@michaelwalls4346 AFAIK, the SH-4d has ZC deep down (for most of the models at least) but is buried under this limited interface to make it more specialized for the physical controls. Sort of like the recent Jupiter X Model for the X/Xm, or ZC-1 in Zenbeats. Smart move on their part, and worth it even if it means losing access to 200 parameters per partial 😄

Too much distortion/resonance/level on that lead sound... but I love the track and the rest of the sounds are just perfect 80's style... could be incidental music from Flashdance.
