    ==============================
    The Soviet Union, which marked the world football in the 60s, could not achieve the successes it wanted in the 70s. Now, as the '80s begins, he wants to rise again. The group's favorite and target is the 1982 world cup. Have a good time.

    Loved this team. Rooted for them in 82. Too bad against Poland.

    Rinat Dasayev was a great goalkeeper, he is very recognized and respected by the Brazilians ... he made great saves in the opening match against Brazil in the 82 World Cup ... it was a wall in that match ... Socrates' goals and Eder were indefensible and that’s why we won that game, because the rest of the balls he got all of them… great goalkeeper…

      That's true, the majority of them were from Ukraine and Georgia. Also , If I'm not wrong, that team included an Armenian and a Kazakh players.

      L'équipe d' URSS 79-84 était même meilleure que celle de 86-88.
      En 82 , par exemple, ils auraient posé plus de problèmes en demi aux italiens que les polonais.

    The Soviets had a really good team in the 1980s and were not rewarded for it. Soviet football was really good with the likes of Dynamo Kiev then part of Russia. The break of Russia killed much of their sport and they have never regained it since especially in football and ice hockey.

      Midfield players are more difficult to mark if instead of running with the ball, they play it back to the defenders and then make blind side runs looking for the ball back in space, as the U.S.S.R did in 1981.
