hi travis and suzi. the metallica world tour requestathon continues with a track that metallica rarely plays live called until it sleeps and it is a very uderatted song that i really like and a rare treat from hamburg germany.

I like how James says: "I hope I know it. " referring to the song, and then proceeds to mess up the first line of the song. 😂

It isn’t really the first line, however he does Indeed mess the third line up. Does it fit? Sure 😂 but it is not like the original lyrics

not Different Sets on oeach city! In hamburg they played exactly the same set list they have played in the netherlands! Just a different setlist per night!
If Metallica were to do a Greatest Hits tour, they would have to have at LEAST a 6 hour concert at every venue!

About all their hits! They have so many through the years, and not only that, almost 99% of every song in every album are masterpieces! So yeah you will only hear a fraction on every concert!
That song always makes me feel sad , that’s probably one of the best performance of that song .

So Metallica is doing 2 shows per city on this tour and playing 2 completely different sets each night so you get to hear more of their catalog if you go both nights. Pretty epic. It has to be tough though for a band like Metallica when so many of their songs are epic and mean so much to their fans.

The song is about James’ mother who got cancer….he lost her in his teenager-years to it as the family’s religion ( Christian Scientists) did not allow medical treatment….they believed that their religion and believe would cure any disease…..that’s why James has written a lot of songs full of anger re. his childhood

Lars has a way of building the set list. Before the “no repeat weekend” in the past tours the guys go back and see the playlist they played there last time they were there to get a general idea of what songs to play and not to play. They know people wanna see/hear different things
If you go to library and you look at their dvd or cd section you will find all best movies, old or new ones. The space is limited so statistics or algorithms tell you what are the most checked out dvds or cds. The grocery stores are the same. The songs Metallica perform are no exception grom that rule.

I will be in detroit nov 10th and 12th ford field 2 nights 2 diff sets of songs last year was pittsburgh pnc park 1st metallica concert and I will never forget that night you 2 should go if you can vivid seats is where I get my tickets it would be awesome to see you 2 there n say hi you won't regret going

LARS, usually is the most OCD about making a setlist. They try to play about 3/4 songs per album they have done, but in this tour, they play two nights, and they have a no repeat setlist. Meaning each show it’s completely different and you won’t hear the same song twice on that tour
Always play the major fan favourites, but have to make huge sacrifices. Issue Metallica has is, lots of their songs are so long
