But there was absolutely no way he could save William, William's fate was set the moment he lost the veto. Karen wasn't going to vote to save him, and as far as Kevin knew Ika was going to vote to save Dre, and as head of house, Demetre would have voted with Ika in a three way tie. So William was screwed whether Kevin voted for him or not, and Kevin knew that. So he made a logical move instead of an emotional one and decided to cast his vote in a way that would possibly help an allie of his. Kevin's one of those people that thinks logically rather than with his emotions, and can push his emotions back if he needs to. That doesn't mean he doesn't have them though. Also, I'm pretty sure William was playing Kevin as well for a while. Neither one of them is some innocent victim here. William isn't a pushover and is a smart guy. He knew what he was getting into, especially since Kevin was flirting with Johnny on his first season of BB play. That does not mean that Kevin didn't personally care about Johnny, or that he didn't personally care about Gary, or that he didn't personally care about William. Kevin seems to be a person that can separate his feelings from his game play, again doesn't mean he doesn't care though or that he doesn't have those feelings.
