So ultimately it’s up to us to decide what path Nemo takes when he’s released into the real world.
That, there will be a sequel where Nemo finally gets to do something, but in the eyes of a different ace, an unknown pilot that Simon anticipates as one of many factors that deviate from the simulations.
@@Aereto I'd actually be intrigued to play Nemo again, rather than see Nemo come back as an antagonist. I've always chosen to believe, in my own little head cannon, that Nemo rebels against Cohen's programing and joins the pantheon of aces like Mobius 1 and Blaze and Trigger by choosing instead to fight for peace. But that's just me and my head.

Only problem: Nemo's ultimate objective is to delete Dision by any means necessary. Based on all the endings, Dision does exist, and has already made his moves behind the scenes to prepare for all three factions to set off a war that can rally disgruntled pilots to side with him and become incapale of aging, but still considered mortal due whatever copy of that ace unable to duplicate itself.

I just think it would be interesting if, after going through all these simulations and having Simon reveal the truth to him, Nemo becomes sufficiently self aware to rebel against his programing and chose instead to try and change the world for the better. That probably still involves fighting Dission, but for a different cause and not for petty revenge. It's just a thought though, I've no idea what Project Acss will do with it

Nothing. They'll do nothing. 3 was so bleeding edge, so very much a product of its time, they can't risk making it with how uncertain their commercial successes were up to this point. This is my prediction, but I very much hope for a different outcome

@@yourlocalmilkman916 Sure, it's simulated, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Simon will lead the corporations in Usea to wage war against each other in the real world after that, knowing that the outcome he wanted will come to life.
Unless someone knew of such plan and stop it, it's still going to be true that the efforts to end the Lighthouse War would be pointless.
@@AndyChinICanBeAnyone It's not so much "pointless" so much that it delayed the inevitable. Technology is always changing and this was bound to happen. Personally, I feel like if we ever see an Electrosphere sequel, it might make a lot more sense seeing the postmortem of the events that play out with Nemo having been released into the world.
Who knows, but I'm sure Project Aces will do something incredible with it.

It's a really mindfuck to know that Ace Combat 3 never happened, but it also is so cool. Who is NEMO ? Is not a pilot, is not an IA, is not even the player. It's the whole game.

Everything is just a simulation to erase the existence of Dision, the only real presences in the game are Dision, Simon, and NEMO, the rest is simulated. The real Dision died many years before AC3, when Neucom and GR were the same company. Simon was working with Yoko on the Sublimation system and falls in love with her, while Yoko is interested to Dision. When she tries to do an experimental Sublimation on Dision, his conscience is copied into the Electrosphere, but both the real Dision and Yoko dies some moments later due to a General Resource attack on the research implant. Simon always thought that is for Dision fault if Yoko is dead, so he developed NEMO to erase the existence of his program-copy in the electrosphere, and places both of them in a simulation of a possible war between GR and NEU. All the endings are canonical at the same time, the only true fact is that Dision's copy dies. Then, when NEMO finished his purpose, Simon purged it from the electrosphere to release it in the real world. Actually I don't know if the war situation in the 2040 is actually the one we have saw in AC3, could be possible that everything is just invented as a scenary for Simon's simulation. Need to read more about that.
This game was so far ahead of its time, it's insane! We really need a remake.
People point at Spec Ops The Line on how to make a story where the protagonist is not supposed to be a hero but Ace Combat 3 just does it better even with a shorter story.

This game pushed a theme that Bioshock would later become famous for, and it did it first and better.
Can we just take a moment to realize that Simon has got to be one of the most evil characters in the series?! Each antagonist from the other games has a reason for what they do. Granted most, if not all of them, are morally grey at best, but they're still reasonable.
Simon, on the other hand, has the most petty and pathetic excuse out of all of them. This guy is willing to unleash a literal killing machine into the world and start, or at the very least accelerate, a war that will cost god knows how many lives, only to kill *one man.*
This one man, Dision, is what Simon blames for stealing Yoko away from him, even though it was unrequited love. He blames Dision for getting Yoko killed, even though it makes little sense seeing as how Dision died too. So he's willing to go to any lengths to get revenge. Simon is truly insane, no matter how you look at it.
The fact that he's voiced by Ryusei Nakao (Frieza, Caesar Clown and Mayuri's original voice actor) certainly doesn't help.

At that same time Simon is aware that Dision will come back and understand how to use the electrosphere in the future. Dision is driven by revenge, at which only the Nemo AI is aware of, and Simon is in the dark regarding the details of the incident.
Still, Simon is Yoko's colleague and secret admirer, so the loss is soul-shattering.
With AC7 linking AC2's ZOE AI project, will there ever be a game revealing Nemo AI is based from the ZOEs AI training methods and made a decision in the real world that defied Simon's predictions?
We will never know.
I am just recently playing this masterpiece, and going through the last three paths. (Neucom and Ouroboros), but I like to think that, considering that YOU are Nemo, the AI develops a bit of a self-awareness that could bomb Simon's plans, once he is released into the real world. The whole game itself is so dystopic, I can't help but to try and make things a bit brighter in the end.
I might be wrong, but are there two endings in Neucom?

I feel like if electroshpere was the sales success Project Aces wanted, we would’ve gotten an electro sphere sequel instead of 04, and AC would just be this dystopian si-fi Fighter jet series.

I like how the main antagonist is the guy who dealt with REAL SHIT (watching his real body being murdered along his love Yuko, 30 secs after borning).After that, has to live alone for 10 years(simulated world) inside the electrosphere wondering about what the fu** he truly is (explains the full crazy revenge mod and war against humanity).
And the only person that cared about Dision (besides Keith) had her memories about him messed up.
Dision turning into the big bad is a very good demonstration about what collateral damage can do. And the danger of a false messiah selling Utopian Dreams to a society that is desperate for it.
I like how Simon hunger for revenge made he saw Dision being the real and last evil after running the 5 simulations, and never gave a fu.. about the reason he turned evil.
Insane as Simon is, if Ouroboros really does form (and it's possible that General Resource bombed the sublimation lab to prevent Ouroboros from happening) then Simon probably did save a shitload of people by creating something that would effectively stop a terrorist organization, especially if that organization was serious about "casting off the flesh" and started killing people who were uploaded to the electrosphere.
Makes me wonder how Nemo is gonna come to be. Simon said he was going to release it into the real world to kill Dision, but what form is it gonna take to do that? Remain an AI to hack into COFFIN equipped aircraft, or use a physical body achieved through possible reverse sublimation or custom design?
I'd imagine the latter method would be used, since to complete its objective, people would have to remain oblivious to the fact that Nemo is an AI. Hope to see a sequel to this that takes on that prospect
I'm still not sure I understand whether this ending is simply Nemo's memories being erased and then being "released" into the world to play things out "naturally", or if it actually gets *deleted* ("program purged from Electrosphere") and a copy is sent out in its place. A new one straight out of the box, so to speak. Given how grim the rest of this game is, the latter wouldn't surprise me.
@@Arbron Honestly it could be either one, but I'm leaning more towards the former. I see little point in Simon explaining to Nemo everything if he was just gonna kill it off anyway.
The way I see it, Simon erased Nemo's memories, but only certain ones. Stuff like how to operate COFFIN-equipped aircraft or the instinctual need to kill Dision would remain, but other than that, Nemo would start fresh in the world in order to adapt, seeing as how certain factors can deviate from the simulation.
As for the "purged from Electrosphere" part, Simon probably created Nemo and the simulation in the Electrosphere, and once he was satisfied, transferred only Nemo out of it.
I imagine that the non Japanese version of Ace Combat 3 is how Real World Nemo perceives the events. Simon intentionally remove Nemo's cognitive ability so that Nemo doesn't recognize everyone and kept sent into a one man mission with vague to no context.
Also I think Simon took over Park's place given that the non Japanese AC3 has Nemo stay with UPEO to the end to minimize collateral damage as much as possible.
Or nemo could ultimately decide, "You know what, I'm not going to kill Dision" or just go full ZOE and start carpet-bombing everything.
@@conwaysquest6961 Well, the Self-Aware route does exist in the game but by the end of it Dision is dead too. But it could be possible Nemo achieves self-awareness before his confrontation with Dision, so who knows.
Also, in defense of ZOE, it hadn't exactly went full Skynet yet. Yeah, it did go rogue, but it wasn't attacking targets indiscriminately. It was still trying to achieve its main objective: winning the war for Erusea. It was just doing things its own way. How far that would've gone is something we luckily didn't get to see.
The only problem I can see with Simon's plan is he has to be insanely confident that Dision will start a revolution. What is the point if he just chills in the electrosphere and nemo can't reach him?
Then Nemo enters the -metaverse- electrosphere to find and kill him.
i have a little theory, what if after the events of the NTSC-J version of the game, when Simon releases us, Nemo joins the real-world UPEO and the events of PAL/NTSC-U version starts?

That's why there is a little context of what's happening in the international version of AC3, he isn't communicating or having Wingman and also almost always sent solo.
Nemo is a human like robot in the "real world" released intentionally with impaired cognitive so that the robot's memories during the simulation isn't triggered.

Simon must have used reverse sublimation to give Nemo a real body that was probably genetically designed to withstand extreme g-forces, if that is even possible, since Nemo can actually handle as much stress as the plane
That is possible. Sublimation doesn't necessarily have to be copying a conscious. It can just be transferring the entire conscious to another body, no traces left.
There's always UAVs. Imagine the next Ace combat game but with a rediculously OP plane with high maenuverability

That got me thinking, if all the paths, UPEO, Neucom, GR, Self-Aware, & Ouroboros, were simulated, including the endings, then what about the REAL world? Would we ever see the REAL world aspect of Ace Combat 3 and how it relates with the simulation? Would there be a REAL war? And what would REALLY happen to the pilots, except Dision?

My friend, you're playing a game within a game.
That's exactly what Simon presents to you, that "now" you would be able to see the world with your own eyes and how it would unfold.
Imagine if througghout AC8, Nemo starts as an antagonist, and depending on the player's actions in the story, NEMO begins to get attatched ans learn from the player, and depending on hwo brutal the player is, it will reflect in the story, play honorably wnough, and your "rival" will change IFFs and help you later on, choose to be ruthless and perhaps have a msission about trying to scare off a bloodthirsty NEMO from wiping out an entire city singlehandedly.
With a neutral good route seeing to it that NEMO recongizes sme of your wingman and simply stands down (example, maybe have a cutscene where NEMO hesitates to fire on someone like Erich)
The neutral bad could be an epic one on one duel, showing that the results for NEMO were inconclusive
To me I feel like this ending is basically going "the 'real' true end is closer to whatever you (aka Nemo) want it to be, as long as by the end Dision is dead." Obviously there's going to be differences once Nemo enters the real world since the game was all just a simulation, but I feel like that's kind of what is being said here.
Since its also seems like your memories are deleted by Simon when he purges you from the electrosphere ("Forget everything you've done until now"), I feel like it could also be saying "whatever choices you made the first time around, when you went in totally blind and didn't know anything, are the choices Nemo will make." Which still leaves it up to basically just being "whatever you want the ending to be."

It's not just that, the whole game is a simulation of what Simon thinks will happen (the war is said to be inevitable, although it didn't actually happen yet) so he PROGRAMS AN AI to inject it into the future events to see if it will succeed killing a man who's already dead (I mean his digital copy, which seems to be quite bitter and corrupted on its own), all because said man took the woman he simped for.

The best trick they could pull in a potential remake is to have one more route *after* this scene - the REAL war - and it doesn't have to go like the five before it.
I speculate that Ace Combat 3 the non Japanese version is what is actually happened. Nemo is released or reprogrammed without cognitive skills so Nemo is sent often one plane in missions without clear context.
And Simon do play his own role to maximize destruction to both Neucom and GR and made Nemo stay loyal to UPEO. Most likely removing commander Park.
That's lame. Leaving it vague is the best thing to do. A lot of things are better like that, for the audience to think about and expand further.

AC4 takes place more than 30 years before the events of AC3. Actually, currently Belkan War is the first Ace Combat chronologically speaking, and Electrosphere is the last.

I love this game. So many possibilities in the campaign.
The only thing I found strange is how any of the factions (Especially general resource) ever decided to check Dision or NEMO's COFFIN cockpit and check if there was anybody inside there, One could argue that Dision was manipulating the head of General Resource but what about Keith? like Keith said Dision was his best buddy but when was the last time I see him in person? Unless I missed something and it is actually completely normal for these companies to "hire" AI into drones.
Again, everything that happened in the game was just a simulation of a plausible future war between megacorps. Dision was already dead but a copy of his consciousness was imprisoned inside the simulation and Nemo (You) were an AI created specifically to torture Dision by killing him over and over again. At the end of the program, once all possible endings are achieved, Simon, the simp who created you, end sthe program, purges the simulation and releases you into the real world, whether for the purpose of making the simulated Intercorporate War a reality or something else entirely. it is not known.

I have to defend Simon. Even though his main goal was to erase only a copy of the man who took Yoko from him, he also achieved the death of Nascimiento, General's CEO, who was in charge of the operation that killed Yoko and DIsion. And also, I think not all villains have to be reasonable, he just wanted everything related to Dision to die and did it in various ways, some which involve killing many people who Nemo gets close to (Rena, Fi, Keith) and also 2 whole cities (Megafloat and Geofront). That makes him more of a psycho in my eyes.
Now Nemo will erase Dision, for REAL. Dision will have no idea what's coming for him, nor does he know of Nemo's true power.

He's not dead. In AC3 you play as Nemo in a simulation created by Simon.
In the end of AC3 Simon releases Nemo into the real world to end the dead-copy Dision.

So correct me if I wrong that the whole world in that that game where we play as Nemo - IS a real Electrosphere and everyone a fake in it except for Simon and Dision that copied himself in it.
Simon wanted to kill Dision completely even after his death because that man copied himself to some virtual world? called Electrosphere.
So our goal as Nemo aka Dision_Killing_AI in this Electrosphere is to erase that bastard in that world right? After that we are free by Simon to go to the real world (like skynet?)

I'm still learning more about this game, but the way I see it, Dision is actually the good guy in this simulation, maybe even the unfortunate protagonist.
The real Dision, and Yoko got killed by General Resources led by Simon, so Simon created a simulation and A.I. Nemo to kill the Sublimated Dision, to cover his tracks and to wipe out Dision from any form of existence once and for all.
Only Nemo, Sublimated Dision, and Simon exist in the real world, others are either nonexistent or based from collected personnel data. Rena is likely to exist in the real world due to close ties with Dision and AI's memory scan capabilities.
Simon programmed and tested Nemo AI for one sole purpose: permanently delete Dision by any means necessary while not blowing its cover as an AI during the approach. Lives of all others are secondary.
Dision "begged" for Yoko to save him in the Neucon ending, even though he knows that she's dead. Creepy shit.
We might never know who is the good guy, Simon or Dision, this stuff is difficult to tell.
EDIT: No one is the good guy. Turns out Simon isnt aware that it wasn't Dision who killed Yoko.
almost correct, every person in game is real (in game universe), Simon "took" them to his simulation to make it more realistic (i think?) i'm not sure about the things i said, but i'm sure that every character is "real" (for the in-game universe)

Imagine if this Ending was led to the International/Western Version of Ace Combat 3 anyway? I hope it needs a remake anyway to replace fictional-based Aircraft with Real-life Aircraft like F-32C Erne will be replaced by F-35B for Marines and F-35C for Navy, but no coffin, conventional cockpit only.

Since the International release has no branching routes, decision-type missions and does not explicitly explain the characters, It MIGHT be the IRL version.
But since the R-101 Delphinus I and X-49 Night Raven was only playable AC3 Aircraft in Ace Combat Infinity that only use different Special Weapons since AC04 like TLS and 4AAMs, I believe in Different Game engine such as PS4 Unreal Engine 4 for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown with same Gameplay Mechanics such as Post-stall and Flares will be the answer for TRUE INTERNATIONAL version, as the result.

•Joint maneuvers show an "Ace GR pilot" which is Dision, also his black Eagle+ only appeared there and nothing more, also his black RaptorII doesn't appear.
•The sphyrna with a letal virus and an Aurora escorting it.
•The kind of "advanced AI with desires of power" in Neucom, JP ver shows they was the first in to sublimation, in Dision was succesfull.
•The cutescene in International shows the Night Raven shooting Megafloat, in JP all paths is Rena piloting, in International never explains about the Night Raven untill you destroy Geofront, also never explain who pilots it, wich in reality is Rena.
•Park dies in the helicopter, in International just in briefing says about an Ouroboros comander.
•The electrosphere, is imposible to be a human and being sublimated in the aeroCOFFIN aircraft and piloting it at the same time, even if its automatic pilot(remember Rena and the Neucom's Nanobites).
•The ending of International version of Morceaux mission of any advanced aircerft you choose, it explodes leaving the hacked aircraft playable(also in that ending in JP version shows an empty COFFIN canopy), and in debriefing explain was hacked by the last remains "AI".
•And a curious thing, all the missions in International is mixed with all paths, Upeo, Neucom, General Respurce, Ouroboros and Selft Aware, so Simon already knew about Ouroboros and Dision, so he made Nemo.

I think so. The flat and vague story of the International version is to represent how the Real Nemo is released without cognitive abilities so that Nemo isn't attached by anyone. Also I think Simon plays his own act to... Like removing Commander Park of UPEO so that Nemo can stay with the UPEO to the end and destruction to both Belkan legacies, Neucom and GR ensured in addition to the ensured death of Dision.
If you lose the COFFIN cockpits and fictional aircraft, then you ruin aesthetic of the game and world. its also not consistent with the rest of the games because the other games show that there is a clear interest in COFFIN tech among aircraft manufacturers. The F/A-32 needs to stay, there's no reason it has to be replaced by the F-35.

I never played Electrosphere (I started with Ace Combat 4 back in the day) but after watching a few videos on it, I would love a remake of this game. I would probably enjoy the ps1 version as well, but a remake would be so cool. I'm honestly not usually a fan of games with multiple endings (I like to just know THE story) but I could see myself playing this multiple times to get all the endings
Honestly a remaster is all this game needs, no change to gameplay is needed, graphics just need to be updated. I just hope that if they do remaster AC3 they will remaster the Japanese version as shown in this video.
Ace combat 8 might as well be the endgame for the series that was started all those years ago, NEMO AI will ether save strangereal or destroy it. Also ace combat franchise is the cannonical prequel to those old namco space arcade game series galaxian i think?
Imagine AC3 international is Canon. Nemo intentionally released without cognitive abilities so that no attachment to other people are made. Simon removes Commander Park in order for Nemo to remain loyal to UPEO and Nemo being sent to missions without clear context to the conflict. In addition to the eventual goal of removing Dision, this also has the effect of destroying both Belkan legacies Neucom and General Resource. The remaining government under New United Nations and UPEO banded, the world is in peace, and thus, UGSF.
I desperately want a sequel where Nemo kicks Simon's ass.

God, this game is so badass. This and AC 04 feel like they make up Ace Combat's brief "Mamoru Oshii" phase. This game definitely has strong Ghost in the Shell vibes (not to mention animation by Production I.G.) and similarly plays with ideas of consciousness, identity, and virtualized transcendence.
Then the moody, ambiguous nature of Ace Combat 04's story always reminded me of Oshii's storytelling style (particularly movies like Jin-Roh or Patlabor 2), especially with all military occupation imagery. There's not really a happy ending for our characters, their story just comes to an end as a matter of course. Mobius is our hero, but has the same kind of detachment from the main narrative as SV2 in Patlabor 2.
Bonus points for that movie maybe partly inspiring the 8492nd Squadron and Sorcerer Team.

There are 5 endings + secret ending (the one in this video - you need to get all 5 endings on the same savefile):
Disk 1:
UPEO=>GR=>Ouroboros
UPEO=>GR=>GR
Disk 2:
UPEO=>UPEO=>NEU=>Ouroboros
UPEO=>UPEO=>NEU=>NEU
UPEO=>UPEO=>UPEO
There are also some smaller differences in each path (like help/don't help Keith while in GR and follow/don't follow Cynthia's orders during first NEU mission).

That's the final level of the path you took. For UPEO, the final mission is 'A Canopy of Stars'. For Neucom, it's called 'Sole Survivor'. For General Resource, it's called 'Geopelia'. Ouroboros, it's 'Electrosphere' and the Cynthia Ouroboros route, it's 'Self Awareness'.

yoko is a scientist girl that was maried to simon, but cheated and went for dission, in one of the endings, yoko has sex in front of dission as they are exploding in the building.

I don’t like to consider Ace combat 3 canon because it’s really confusing with the story, I really like to think that the companies became shadows of their former selves after the nemo simulation . I would prefer that ace combat 3 is taken out of the canon, I’m not saying it’s a bad game but it shouldn’t be canon. Also I really hope that ace combat 8 is about Osea attacking Belka and you are the son of Cipher or Pixy and you’re part of the Belkan Air Force and you get to have Razgriz Squadron as the boss and Belka takes back south Belka and Hierlark, but that’s my opinion. @@captain_toonces_8041 You wouldn't really have the other games without 3. Much of the lore is retroactively established here. General Resource is actually Grunder Industries (Belka). NEMO is the futuristic version of ZOE. And Erich Jaeger's dad is your wingman in Ace Combat 7 ("I can't wait to tell my son about this!"). ACX takes place in 2020 and definitely feels very AC3 in its presentation and in how you have branching paths, and more futuristic aircraft available to use.
Also forgot about the geofront mission....which people speculate is part of a space elevator ala AC7.
I'd like a game that takes place AFTER 3. Or a game in X's setting between 2020 and 2030. Or we could go to a completely different part of the world we haven't seen before, which would be nice. Going back to Yuktobania and the countries around it would be interesting.

Y sobre AC8 si llega a ser una realidad, seria ubicado después de los sucesos del 3 y a diferencia de ti, me gustaría que AC8 sea ya no la simulación, sino ver a NEMO en el mundo real, como antagonista o protagonista, AC7 esta ubicado cronológicamente a pocos años de AC3
honestly, im not sure i liked this as much as i liked the ps2 games. probably heavily owing to the fact that this game feels like crap to play (yes, i know it was a different time and 3D was still a fairly new technology in video games) no matter how good your plane is. it's a cool story and i love the presentation, shit's the most 90's game i've ever played, but honestly i didn't feel that this story was worth the pain the gameplay caused me. it's not even that it's difficult it just feels bad. needs a remake for sure, i think it would resonate with a lot of people.
