What Happened to Muzan from Interesting character to beefing with a 13 year old

Considering said boy is the only human alive who has inherited the specific fighting style to which Muzan is weak, I'd say his beef is way more than justified. It doesn't make him any less interesting, on the contrary. It compels the viewer to ask questions such as "What happened, what's the relation between these two?"
