    He looks like he knows what he's talking about. I hope he goes on to manage a team some day.

      Nope moved to Jenkinstown a few years ago, that building was sold and is now set to become a development site. David & Stephen now run the business. I was lucky to do work experience with Brian, Mark and David back in 2006

    The bas of the hurley has changed in a short amount of time. You’d never see ground hurling today which is unfortunate. The ball is in the hand all the time now.

      No ground hurling any more or pulling on the ball in the air , 2 skills that have sadly been lost such a pity as there is nothing better than seeing players pull on the ball first time.

    When did people start calling them 'hurls'? They were always hurleys when I was a kid.

    • @shaunfox7453
      @shaunfox7453 Před rokem +6

      Depending on which part of the country your from typically dictates what people call them, down south there hurleys in the midlands and east they’d be hurls

    • @winterishere9828
      @winterishere9828 Před rokem

      In North Tipp they were hurleys, not too much hurling territory north of there. Also the ball was called a tan.

    • @cuhulainsblood
      @cuhulainsblood Před rokem

      In Antrim we just called them hurling sticks.

      @@winterishere9828 Yes there is, south County Galway, Offaly, Laois, Dublin etc. Plenty of hurling territory noth of North Tipperary. The world doesn't revolve around munster.

    • @winterishere9828
      @winterishere9828 Před rokem

      The hurling parts of galway e.g Portumna and Offaly e.g Birr and Laois lie south of the northernmost end of Tipperary.
      All the strong hurling counties do in fact. North of there is just Dublin and small pockets in a few other counties.
      So yeah, I stand by my comment
