One of the first things we did with our fifth wheel was to remove a sleeper sofa in the living area, and replace it with a desk, so each of us has our own work space, in opposing slides. We didn't even worry about it reducing the value of the rig. As with yours, if someone buys this and wants a sleeper sofa there, they can do that. It's no big deal. It makes sense (to me, anyway) for you to do whatever you want to make your rig work better for you, and not worry about resale unless it's something really major and irreversible. I'm happy to hear that Phil's knee is healed.

Helpful tip for you guys. Put electrical tape across the terminals of the 9 volt batterys. They are easily shorted and can start a fire. I saw one in your battery bin unprotected.

Stacy! You go girl! Looks like you have been working out while Phil is recovering. I love your haircut. So beautiful. I keep trying to get those layers, but don't seem to be able to communicate with my hairdresser. I will show her your video! Phil, you barely have a scar. I remember my Dads back in the 80's was long. Enjoy your next adventure.

Very happy to see you are getting back out. Phil, don’t make the mistake that I do with TKR - get out of the driver seat and walk more than you think (or it ‘will’ get stiff and sore)…. Semper Fi

Good to have you back on the road! Not to change the subject BUT... We are at Dunn Creek COE with 14 days free camping. Beautiful sight next to the Kootenai river. Has water access, vault toilet and dompsters. No dump station. 15 miles North of Libby Mt on MT 37. Mile marker 15 then immediate left down asphalt drive. Almost one lane nut it's not busy. Trees or open for solar. Thanx

You're talking about trade-in value... I'm 56 years old and all my life have lived with the thought of 'stock' is best. I keep NOTHING in my cars. OCD clean I guess. However, when we traded in our last camper for a new one, the salesguy didn't even look at our camper. He quoted a price and that was it! He didn't care what was inside. So, I let my wife have her way with decorating the new one. I'm trying out a new philosiphy. I won't let her 'ruin' anything, but changes are for US, not the next owner! You made the correct call on the couch, but you already know that. Thanks for the storage points.

Once we get back to our home base later this year, we plan to reorganize the RV in preparation for our adventure to Alaska in 2023. Hi Folks, I’ve been following you guys for over a year now, and really enjoy your videos. BTW - I have an 02 F350 SuperDuty named Ruby! Anyway the main reason I’m writing is because while I was watching the video I noticed the battery drawer had loose batteries in it. Most batteries are fine to be loose in a drawer, but not a good idea with 9 volt batteries. With both terminals on the same end, a random paper clip, or something similar could short out the terminals, and heat up enough to cause a problem. Always a good practice to keep 9 volts in the original package until in use. Hope you find this helpful. Safe Travels….

so, looking at your map, just butting in a plug next time you get out west, for Oregon , Crater Lake National Park, Diamond Lake Camping, all kinds, about 10 miles from Crater Lake, and hwy 101 from Brookings in the south to Astoria in the north. has been written up as top 10 Rv road trip, could add motorcycle trips too. Brookings south into northern California, gets you into the Redwoods. ya know, next time your out that way.

Personal pet peeve for us is storage of 9V batteries. The exposed side-by-side terminals are a fire hazard, so please insulate the terminal posts!

Great to see you guys getting back on the road. Where are you headed? We are still in the North East. Today in western NY near Chautauqua lake. You should see this area.

Great tips guys. Living in an RV or trailer is a bit different from a "normal" home.
Anyplace where space can be conserved and consolidated is a necessity.
Much like I assume living aboard ship. Yall should be used to that.
Glad to see Phil is recouped and raring to go. L[owing forward to the next set of adventures.
Stay safe, be careful and go with God.

Careful with batteries, there is a reason the blister pack they are sold in is the way it is. All positive going the same way, don’t have any touching each other.

Great organizational tips! I would caution, though, that you need to be aware of not exceeding your specific RV's cargo carrying capacity. To be fair, that usually isn't much of a problem with those RVers that own DPs but for some of us gas coach owners, it can be a balancing act. Like one of our camping buddies has often stated, "Just because you can make it fit doesn't mean it should make the trip!"

True Story!! We are well below our capacity! And ditching that couch opened up more lbs!

I see you have the reflectix in your cabinets. Can you do a video on the effectiveness of that mod? I saw a video that this one lady pulled her reflectix down after winter and she had a little surface mold growing on the wall. I was just getting ready to do my RV till i saw the one video. Now I’m planning on using Coroplast between the wall and reflectix.
