I was in this ship to Alaska last Sep.18-25 2023 the service was very good ship was good but the food was bad they should do something to the cook.
Fully agree with all of your comments guys. We sailed on her last November and had previously sailed on her out of China in 2018. Our only gripes were the drink prices which were quite a bit more than Princess and HAL and the specialty dining which cost almost double what others charge.
Hi Mark. Thanks for watching. We had drinks packages which eases the burden. We don't drink a lot (Alis doesn't drink alcohol at all) but I think we would still have spent way over the cost of the packages if we didn't have them.

Cruised on Quantum in November to Tasmania and I agree with the reviewers. Fabulous ship. Great staff, great entertainment, spotlessly clean and proactive with COVID protocols. A special shout-out to Jamie's Italian and Izumi where the staff were extra special. Drinks and extras were a little expensive but you're on holiday...So hey. Can't wait to travel on Quantum again.

Hi Rob and Ali, Thank you for another great review 😻. Everything about the Quantum looks so much like the Ovation of the Seas which I was on 4 years ago. I’m going on Ovation for Christmas/New Year and was wondering if many people still dress up for formal nights on RC ships. I’ve found that since Covid people don’t wear very formal clothes on cruises so I’m wondering whether it’s worth packing my husband’s tux and my cocktail dresses - I’d love to hear what your thoughts are please. I have not been on a cruise but at 71 have decided that it might be time to go one with My 17 yr old Grand Son. Thinking of a three night at sea one to try it out first.

Hi Patricia. We didn't do Chef's Table on this cruise but some friends of ours did and said it was amazing. We will look at doing one on the next cruise but you will have done it before then so please let us know what you think of it and have a fantastic cruise in March.
Really enjoying your videos. Thank you for so much great information. We will be on the Quantum’s Alaska cruise in August. Struggling to understand the drink packages. Do you feel they are worth the cost? Do you pay for regular soda or iced tea beverages separately even at the complimentary food venues like the Windjammer Cafe or Sorrentos Pizza? If so, what is the average price? What would you say is the average price of a cocktail? Thank you again.

Hi Debbie. It was quite a different ship to the smaller ones. We love all our cruising though and it's the differences that make it fun.
I cruised this ship in January 2023, to Sydney & Hobart...
Fabulous ship...though early dining was hard to change...
So we done Windjammer every meal.... luv ❤️ the pizza nd hot chocolate 🍫
We're going on QOS to South Pacific in March and cant wait.
Although quite upset the North Star and Bionic Bar are out if service at the moment and at least the North Star won't be fixed until dry dock in approx Sept 2024.

Loving watching all your videos. We are heading out on Quantam of the Seas end of Feb. Wondering if I could please ask a question do you need to prebook the evening shows. I have booked the Starwater show in two70 but the app doesn't list shows in the theatre etc. So just wondering once on board do we need to prebook or can you just turn up to the theatre to watch a show?
Hi Amanda. Thanks for watching and sorry for the delay in replying. You've done the right thing in booking Starwater, the tech is amazing. You can't book the other shows at all, you just turn up. We found there was plenty of room but maybe get there a little early just to make sure you get good seats. Have a fantastic cruise and let us know what you thought when you get back.

Thank you so much for this helpful review. We are heading through Alaska on this ship in a few weeks. I haven’t booked any speciality restaurants, we are planning to just do complimentary, what is the dress code for the complimentary restaurants? Ive seen smart casual and casual?
Hi and thanks for the comment. Apologies for the delay in replying. People generally tend to dress to how they feel comfortable but probably dress up a bit more on f'dress to impress' nights. This can range from smart casual to full dinner dress. During the day casual is definitely OK but no bathers. They do say no shorts, singlets, thongs etc. in the main dining rooms but in hot weather we have seen smart shorts being OK. Generally speaking though men would wear pants and a shirt or polo on 'casual' nights and ladies similar, dress or pants & blouse, that sort of outfit. Sorry we can't be more specific but there really is such a big range of what people wear. Smart casual will always get you in though. Hope this helps a bit.
Agree with you on the 270 bar.. this really needs to be looked at by RC. I went there at night and there was people massed all around the bar, some had drinks and were chatting, others were around the side chatting. I could see NO queues... so I did what you do in any bar and walked up past people chatting and stood in front of the bar waiting to be served. WW3 almost broke out as I was accused of 'que-jumping' !! What queue.. there is no queue... to which they replied they are the que.... I said I see no line... you look like a crowd of people chatting and some of you have drinks... to which they replied, yes it takes that long to get served you have to start queuing for your next drink while you are still drinking your first drink! What a shit-show the 270 bar is!!

Hi guys, great review. We recently sailed on the Quantum of the Seas to Hobart from Brisbane
We would agree 100% with your review. The food in the complementary dining rooms in particular was fantastic. Service and friendliness throughout the ship also great.
The only thing we don’t like is that all prices are in US dollars. We think this is taking advantage of Australians. If they want to sail from our country they should be charging in Australian dollars. Fine, put the prices up 30% but don’t con people in to thinking things are cheaper than they are.
We are soon sailing on the Carnival Luminosa for 7 nights from Brisbane. Question; Does Carnival charge in Aussie dollars or USdollars.

What was the barista coffee like at LA patissire please ? I drink my coffee in a small cup with skim milk and 3 shots of coffee, so very strong. So hoping to be able to buy 5 star coffee onboard :) oh what were the opening and closing times there too please?

Hi Stacey. Royal Caribbean have sales on quite a few of their packages. We haven't followed the coffee card particularly but keep an eye on it on the website and emails as it may well do.

Hi Debbie. We live in Forest Lake, Brisbane. Not too close to the airport, around 30 minutes drive, but the flight path for the new runway goes pretty close overhead. To be honest we don't even notice it now and the dogs make more noise than the planes 🙂

Our family just came off the ship 3 days ago from a 8 day sail from Brisbane down to Tasmania then back up we loved it the only down point is that it needs a laundry ASAP apart from that was amazing my 11 year old son loved all the activities you forgot about the hot dog 🌭 by the sea plex also the Cafe that next to pizza place thats 24hrs with great wraps and water melon also the spa and gym is a great facility and the north star you missed loads out thats on the ship. Not a great review to be honest if you going to miss loads out.
Hi and thanks for the comments. The review is just what we saw and did. We have included some of the other things that you mention in other videos and are still to edit the North Star one. Also, we still have the outer decks of the ship to edit and post, which is a little more tricky than the inside ones. Sorry if we didn't cover everything in the review but we do try to keep the videos down to a reasonably watchable time. Hopefully, when we get the rest of them posted you'll see what we missed in this one. Absolutely agree about the laundry though as I do like an ironed shirt for formal night even if I can put up with less than perfect t-shirts and casual shirts.
