    The only things I need to see before actual game launch are the secondary archetype system and the rest of the primary archetypes in general. I just want to decide on my character class. Everything else I am okay with not knowing ahead of time as I have total trust in Intrepid at this point. There are other things it would be nice to see ahead of time, but no other NEEDS for me.

      Well said. And yea the 64 class system and secondary archetype augments was perhaps my biggest attraction to AOC

    I don't need to see right now, but sooner than later would be nice. Naval content and Augementation are big on my list of systems that I want to see.

    The issue is how since current MMO PvE is so easy that everyone pretty much expects 'to win' and this kind of system will be a real shock. I think if I were the devs, I'd start off with low penalties to let players get used to it and then slowly ramp them up to where they want them. Once you are used to it everyone will understand how to go about playing without getting overly frustrated. This mechanic could make for some really epic moments in Ashes but also could quickly turn Ashes into a lower pop more niche MMO. Thankfully, the way Ashes is seemingly being setup, BOTs will have no hold over these lands! That alone has me super stoked. I so despise BOTs.

    28:38 New World had wars exactly like this - one objective that each team had to repeat. It was tedious, but remained fun because at the end of the day you were doing it with other people. So I wouldn't think it the end of the world if the game releases with just one mission in wars.

      @Nyce-Gaming  Před 15 dny

      Possibly but it gets old quick.new world having one war type in the same way there’s been one opr map probably helped lead to it getting stale quick. It wouldn’t be the end of the world though as long as more came soon right after. I like that intrepid is already tackling this and giving variety

    I'm most interested to see navel content as well. Aside from the combat, the navel system is going to be a VERY crucial point of development. Something that will be very hard to do right I'd imagine. Not because a lack of imagination, but a lack of technical knowhow.
    Though I don't think the raft system is comparable whatsoever. Ocean gameplay is going to need waves and like you said a sail system, as well as perhaps a row mechanic. And collisions

    I wonder what happens if two guild members are citizens of enemy nodes. Will they be flagged for each other

    • @Nyce-Gaming
      @Nyce-Gaming  Před 27 dny

      Yea there will have to be a hierarchy established by devs to see what takes precedent . Node - guild - ally - group or something similar

    • @philwaugh9095
      @philwaugh9095 Před 27 dny

      I'd be curious to see if they even allow guildies to be in enemy nodes. A little too easy to sabotage/throw wars (to an extent) that way. Then again, Steven is a fan of the drama so who knows :)

    Going out on the ocean already has a massive risk, a big risk to die(PvP), a risk to lose your ship I'm assuming, a risk to go very far away from where you were traveling to after you die.
    If there's going to be a death penalty on the open ocean it better have one hell of a reward. The absolute best crafting stuff must have ingredients that can only be found on another continent and/or island.

    • @Nyce-Gaming
      @Nyce-Gaming  Před 26 dny

      Yea I’m hoping the rewards are insane and each trip feels more and more scary. Scary mob wise and pvp

    For now i really want to see the rogue. And in general melee vs range classes in 1v1 situations. But i want to state something more about what remains to be seen. Because the community is very petient all these years, they expect to see nothing less than perfect, flawless gaming material in every aspect of the game especially in late alpha, whole beta phase and most important in the release. AoC is swimming in deep waters which means that this game will be the next big thing for the next 10-20 years if everything perfect and succeed, or the biggest disappointment and failure cause player's judgment will be relentless after so many years of development. "High risk high reward" type of situation.. ;)

    • @Nyce-Gaming
      @Nyce-Gaming  Před 27 dny +2

      Yup people will indeed want their patience rewarded. We can give something forced out early access style like pax or some previous titles that end up trying to fix things later such as new world or we sit and wait for something good. A horrid situation would be waiting incredibly long for aoc to only receive a nw launch mimic

      I don't know. What we have been served up in the last 8 years in terms of MMOs, has been pretty stale, so the bar, in reality, is very low. I really think the game is back in World of Warcraft territory. They are floating several very radical concepts:
      1. Totally variable backgrounds/worlds all determined by player actions..
      2. A totally player driven economy.
      3. Minimal instanced content.
      4. Player created and managed factions, city states, and kingdoms.
      5. No linear storyline whatsoever.
      Obviously it has to be a certain standard, but I think most of the community realize how ground breaking it is, just like the original WoW. It doesn't have to be perfect on release, it just has to work. I can tell you right now, just like in WoW there will be the odd bug, but I think we are so starved for a genuinely new game, even if it just functional, it is going to be the big thing for 10-20 years.
