- WOW ITS -7°C tonight so I have to take this opportunity to test my winter hammock Equipment .
The Beast from the East is back and the temperature is going to get down to - 7°C so as the UK is this in lock down I have no choice to setup my winter hammock Equipment up in my garden -- garden camping --

I wish I had a garden but 8 minutes hike from my new home are some incredible woods I'm looking forward to testing my gear. I will be pushing myself past what I'm used to as we've been promised snow and high winds. I am prepared to take camp down and go home in the unlikely event of my gear failing on me on a camp with my dog. I like the fact of being prepared just in case the worst should happen to keep us both safe.
I wouldn't expect you to cook any less than 8 pieces of Bacon on the griddle. You are EWM afterall. Bet all the neighbourhood dogs were slavering at the smell. I like that you're carrying on in your garden. Cheers Dan.

We’ve had a right good layer of snow up in Sunderland,whilst most places have had it for days we’ve only had tiny bits and I had no confidence in getting a decent bit ,if I had known I’d of been out last night,fuck the restrictions lol

I have a Facebook Sea Angling group with approx 1.3 K members based in Northumberland. One member went Cod Night Fishing recently on a Beach in Northumberland, he was a local lad so not Travelling far. Best Fishing in Darkness for the Cod. Anyway set a Fishing Tripod shelter up to protect him from the adverse weather and keep his gear and his Bait from going to mush. Police Shouted him off the Beach and told him to Strike the Shelter and get Home. No overnight stays allowed away from Home. Now there are so many overnight Bushcraft Videos been shown that are so recent. Take care and Good Video mate. PS Make your Lasses Tea for her coming in from work.lol

I've used just the cocoon down to 1 degree (no sleeping bag) and it's ok, I did find there was a draught from the foot end so I wrapped a bungee around it...problem solved! Only problem I have is I like to diagonal lay but there's just not enough room for it. Tie a length or paracord on the bottom zip, so you don't have to lean forward to zip up, plus some glow in the dark cord or fireflys on the zips to find them in the dark.

Although it looks like a giant chrysalis, that Snugpak Cocoon looks like a good idea. Also, a good point you made about centre zip sleeping bags for hammocks. I'll bear that in mind if i ever go down the hammock route
