Le Polka de Caraquet - Frank Desjarlais

Frank Desjarlais on fiddle, and Danny Flett on guitar. Dave Charette Video taped this, and I recorded the Audio in February of 2004. J J Lavallee added the rest of the accompaniment when he visited me on January 11, 2014. I just finished editing and loading it now on January 13, 2014. I hope you enjoy it.

Apparently this is called Le Polka de Caraquet. Caraquet being a village in New Brunswick.

Urbain (Joe) Lafreniere was over last night and he tells me that this tune is also known as Fiddle strings. He also says that Buck Owens used to pick this on the guitar. We don't know which came first.

OMG what an awesome melody I go daily to hear it and got a friend we do a little bit of the hot polka to it as it plays. No. Frank is from Bacon Ridge, just outside of Ebb & Flow along lake Manitoba.
