Green Onion and Cheddar Biscuits
(Recipe from thekittchen.com)
Ingredients
·2 cups All Purpose Flour, plus more for your work surface
·1 teaspoon Granulated Sugar
·1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
·1 teaspoon Salt
·8 tablespoons chilled Butter, cut into small cubes
·1 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
·1/2 cup chopped Green Onion
·about 1/3 cup Whole Milk
·1/2 cup Buttermilk
·1 tablespoon melted Butter
Instructions
1.In large bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
2.Then add the butter and mix with your hands until the mixture resembles cornmeal. You can pulse the mixture together with a food processor if you prefer.
3.Add 1 cup of the cheese and all of the green onion.
4.Gently stir in the buttermilk, and the milk starting by adding 1/4 cup and adding more as necessary. You want the dough to be sticky, but not overly wet. I found that adding 1/3 cup of milk was just right, but you might need slightly more or less.
5.Cover the dough and let it sit for 30 minutes.
6.After 30 minutes, move an oven rack so it is at the level where it is on the top third of your oven. Heat your oven to 425 degrees. Pour the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out until it is about 1/2 inch thick.
7.Fold the dough up into thirds and roll it out again. Repeat this two more times, this gives the biscuits flaky layers.
8.Use a biscuit cutter to divide the dough into about 12 biscuits. Or just a knife to cut the biscuits into squares.
9.Place the biscuits on a silicone mat or parchment lined baking sheet. Do not place the biscuits in the oven until the temperature reaches 425 degrees. Place the biscuits on a rack on the top third of the oven - not just in the middle.
10.Bake the biscuits for 12 minutes. Then remove from the oven and brush melted butter and sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top of the biscuits. Let cook for another 3 minutes, until the biscuits are just starting to brown. Then turn on the broiler for about a minute to get the cheese nice and crispy.

What are you most excited about this summer? 🌼 Im so excited for my garden to grow! I'm excited for picnics, days at the lake, nature walks and wildflowers! I just want to soak in all the beauty this season has to offer! How about you? 🌄
Sounds lovely! Oh yes a nice breeze is just delightful on a hot day! I dont really like hot days but im trying to find ways to enjoy them more so that im not missing out!
Definitely the sunshine and the plants coming to life outdoors. Shame it's raining here at the moment!
I really feel like you'd never get sick if you lived here
Baking muffins! And watching the sunset after a long day (cuddled up with a nice tea of course!)!
Trueeeeeee
If I lived there forever without the Internet, I would never feel bored, I swear that it is a life of simplicity, tenderness and beauty I love nature I wish with all my heart to live there. 😭❤
Penso da mesma forma! Eu sonho com isso. ❤
OMG I would but my dream job is to be a game designer :(
I would need internet for that :)
We hillbillies got internet too. I just got starlink actually =)
This was the original way a wife's life was while the husband was at work she raised food for the family to help her husband save money she cared for and cleaned the 🏠 and took care of the children, making a clean cozy home and delicious dinner for her husband to come home to reminds me of American life B4 1960s , what an idealic life...this is what feminism stole from us and the 👪
@@karenriggle5435 True, but I'd argue women didn't do it alone. We lived in multi-generational homes and did the wash, cooking, etc with sisters, aunts, grandma, etc. That is a key difference. I think modern women miss that world of women but are totally unaware of it. They try to create it with red tents and other female activities, but it is always meaningless and falls flat. IMO of course.
There were seven children in our family and we hung all our clothes out on the line weather permitting, even winter! The smell of freshly hung wash cannot be beat. I have done all my clothes by hand in a couple of big buckets for almost three decades. I even make my own laundry detergent. I love it.
How do you make the laundry detergent? Thanks
You can make one of many recipes..but one is washing soda, a bar of soap, borax. You can do it in a five gallon bucket.
Didn't expect to tear up but hey. Wishing for a life like this.
Same here. 😢
Beautiful foxgloves! The little freckles in each bloom is a runway for the bees to get to the nectar :-) I think the world is starving to get back to this pace of life, I know I am.
I love the foxgloves! Need to add them to my "in progress" 18th-century garden.
The world is, yes, but to be true, many people don't want the responsibility. in cities selfishness flourishes.

I just found your channel last night! Thank you for creating such beautiful calm videos !
Welcome to my channel! 😊 thank you so much for watching! ❤
So much beauty in ordinary living. So grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to see and experience the beauty and the peace that surrounds you.
What beautiful videos! I love that you include scripture, and that you are dressed traditionally. God bless you. Keep making these, as they are very inspirational!
I love to see a line full of washing drying in the breeze, it smells devine too when you bring it indoors ☺️. The scones looked melt-in-your-mouth yummy 😋💛💐🏴
Until a bird 🐦 poops on it
Bro these types of lifestyles make me wanna live a slow living, chilled grandma life
Loved watching this, dreamy calming, peaceful atmosphere ❤️
Every sec of this video made my heart beat fast. I’m so inlove with the scenery, ambiance and the nature. I wish could live there too.
Thank you for such a calming and soothing video. You're such an inspiration for someone who just started practicing slow living in the countryside.❤️💕
I think I would enjoy doing the laundry more, if I had this beautiful garden and those cute baskets! ❤ I like the idea of cheesy biscuits as well! Making butter looks so easy, I didn't expect that! Beautifully made video! 💕
Pretty things definitely make tasks more enjoyable! I try to make functional things beautiful as well. Yes making butter is so easy! And you dont really even need any equipment, it just makes it easier! Thank you! ❤
Every bit of this video is so lovely. Look forward to many more.
I’m told I’m old, but I would love to finish my time like this!
So calming and beautiful! Made me dream of having a backyard so i could hang my clothes outside to dry in the warmer months. Fresh laundry always smells way better at my parents house than it does at my apartment because they can hang it outside :D
Lovely video! Who knew one would find watching someone do there laundry so therapeutic..💕 Thank you for making such a beautiful video! Xx
Thank you! Im so happy you thought so!❤
Thank you for teaching me the most proper way of making butter. I have made it long ago but not in this way, which I like a lot more. It looks amazing. Your biscuits look delicious. I hope one day I can have my own house (in a two family house with my family for fifteen years come this May) so I can have my own line outside. I've been handwashing our clothes for a decade and use a rack in our bathroom but would love the smell of air and sun dried clothes one day! This video is beautiful and I am new here. I shall be back and will be commenting in the future. I know this is like a year old video too.
You are very underrated on CZcams! I thoroughly enjoy your videos and suspect you will pick up some momentum soon! I appreciate the hard work you put into making these videos.
Aww thank you so much! 😊 I really appreciate your support and im so happy you are enjoying my videos! ❤
Thanks for the butter tutorial, it's really helpful. I can't wait to make my own.
This is so calmy!! And quite♡ i rlly like calming and quite natural house! It gives me cottagecore vibes!!
thank you for sharing how to make butter and the beautiful scones you have made. it looks a lovely country life x
I used to hang clothes on the line when I was young. I loved watching the clothes blow gentley in the breeze. And they smelled so good when you took them off the line. For every convenience we get we also lose something valuable to our souls.
How delightful! Love all these different chores and nature 💗
Thank you! ❤

Beautiful living sister! Slow is the way to go to truly soak in God's beauty 🙏🌹🤗
Very lovely video, thank you for showing how you made the butter. Sometimes I find the most simple things to be intimidating so I don’t do them, but I found myself looking in my cupboards for flour so I could make bread and butter! Thanks again as I am new to your channel and look forward to “catching up” on all your videos.
Never knew butter was made like that. So lovely!

Cool. I like it.
Lovely video 🌱🌷
Wow! I didn't realize butter was so simple to make! It makes me want to try it!
Its super simple! You can also make it just with a hand mixer or stand mixer. And you dont need the butter paddles either, just use your hands or a wooden spoon :)
This video got recommend to me today, and I'm so glad! Keep being slow and beautiful!
Im so happy that you are enjoying my videos! Welcome! I hope you stick around! 😊❤
@@HandHarvest I am indeed sticking around! I know it won't tell you names exactly, but your subscriber count went up by +1! 🥰

EXCELLENT CHANNEL! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Those fox gloves are stunning 😍 Summer for me is garden time, lazy slow days spent with my family enjoying the beauty of the everyday. Love from Idaho ❤️
I know right?! Years ago i planted one and now they keep spreading, i love them! Sounds like a lovely summer ❤
@@HandHarvest when my oldest kids were little we lived on a five acre farm and there were wild roses every where on the border of our property, and someone had planted fox gloves all in between! A beautiful pale yellow color among the hot pink blossoms of the roses. It was stunning 😍
That sounds stunning! 😍
awesome
Очень милое уютное видео👍
Amazing living
Those biscuits look delicious. Had no idea it is so easy to make butter. Thank you for the wonderful video! 💚
Thank you!❤ Its super easy! And it feels very rewarding :)

How lovely...
Thank you for sharing and giving credit to the Creator of all things..there are some other beautiful slow living channels on CZcams but not one has acknowledged God as the Source of all the beauty.. thank you! It was all detailed and stunning!
Thank you! Ive noticed that as well which is one reason why I thought it was so important to do so, we are nothing without God! 🙏🏻
Beautiful video🌸
Thank you! 😊
Very nice and sweet 📹. 😍😍😍👍👍👍
Your place is so beautiful! 🥰😍💕 I love it. The flowers awwww 🥺🥺🥺. The biscuits turn out to be amazing! I still wanna try cream puff shells 😋😋😋. I have a lot of things to try out 😂.
Thank you! I know those foxgloves are so wonderful! Lol me too, theres so many delicious things to make!
I have hung clothes out to dry most of my life but was never allowed to fold them over the line.. we also used poles to lift the lines to help them dry. I don't mean to sound like a know it all.
Underrated!!! And I want to life like you but I don’t think I can... I hope some day though.....
Aww thank you!❤ There are so many little things you can do like learning how to preserve your own food, baking a pie, knitting a scarf, having a little picnic and so much more. I dont live on 20 acres of land and have cows and chickens and grow all my own food (thats the goal!) But im using this time before i get land to learn all different aspects of a more 'old fashioned' life and its so much fun! I think you can do more than you think! 😊
adorable
this is the nicest video i saw on youtube
Awww thank you so much! 😊💕
Beautiful
I used to work around my home all the time. I loved keeping my home but after cancer and two bone marrow transplants I’m just done in. I get so tired and I miss those days when I had strength. ~ Janet 😘
I hope you’re able to regain your strength.
I loved this one because I love Foxgloves and Jesus!
💛💛💛
Very beautiful Vlog
Thank you! 😊
