Ran the numbers for giggles and paying 200 a week to ss from 18-65 with a 5% return would be 1.7 million. And looking at the ss website I’m qualified for 3,000 a month. If I live 10 more years to 75 I’ll only get back 360,000. If what they say is true I’ll get back 0

Social Security would have been a great idea, if you subtract inflation and politicians having their hands in our money.
Theoretically, it should be a self funded deal, but it's not. The money we each pay in, should pay for ourselves and that's it.
