This demo was the catalyst for finding one of these on the cheap. WOW!!! To begin with no practice amp this small sounds this BIG. What impressed me aside from the smooth saturated gain is the better than expected tone quality is retained at very low volume. Another point is this circuit and pots are QUIET and handles FX very well. Consider that this also accepts a MP3 and a price no one with a lick of sense would have reason to complain about, and here you have the most unlikely mini on the market.
Bought the bass version for my electric guqin. For 36euro, quite good actually. Can also use it as mp3 player speaker. The battery option is good too, for less noise or hum.
Your demo's are on point, even when the item being demo'd isn't. This box, keep in mind I haven't checked its USD pricing yet, but tell me it's $35 to $50 bucks - then yes it's a thought. It's too Cheesy in a Toy Store way, to be worth much more imo. I would loved to have heard a lush chorus, with a low vol. mid toned reverb with delay - ALL POST mild overdrive. Love the videos you make - As you were Soldier.
I'm getting a Harley Benton soon and I was thinking of a cheap practice amp to go with it. The HB TE 90 you have is the exact one I'm getting, so this video was the perfect demo for me. What a fortunate coincidence.
hey thanks Shane! I picked one up for $40 and am using it with an average loudness passive neck humbucker. I think it'll work fine for playing outside with some hand drummers
Joyo are making some great amps, this is not one of them, but that's not what it's meant to be, it's to get a low volume sound out of an electric guitar to practice. I agree with Shane, a digital reverb in it would make it a bit nicer. @Shane, have you had a chance to try Joyo's Beale Street (Tweed Deluxe 5E3 clone) amp, I picked one up a couple of weeks ago and it sounds great. Only thing that I think is a bit of a downer with it is they ship with 2 x 12AX7 in the pre amp and say in the manual that to get the classic sound replace V1 with a 12AY7, just ship it with the AY, it's killer.
You really know how to set up gear to make it sound it’s best. It did actually sound good with the tube screamer...but I don’t know why anyone would want to use pedals with a cheapie lunchbox sized practice amp. I think 20 years ago a $60 portable practice amp that took pedals well and sounded like this might have been a success. These days though the competition is just too good.
GOOD ON YA !! been a long time since ya did a less than "its cool" review. I want more LOUSY PRODUCTS reviews!!! it aint all roses out here !!!!! CHEERS !!!! HA !!
Love your playing in the intro! I heard it before and man... that is some sweet playing. Can I get the tab for it ? The amp, Not bad sounding either. Thanks for another great review Shane.
Nasty buzz on the drive channel, only a little bit of headroom clean. It makes me wonder if Joyo put much thought into this little amp. You brought some good tones out in the demo. .
First! Amplugs have reverb, chorus and delay... why it's so hard for joyo (and other 'big ones' like Boss with katana mini) to add a simple non tweakable digital reverb? It makes all the difference for me.
it might be okay for that sort of thing. It's just not very nice sounding. You might be better with the NUX BT Lite, that's a much better amp or the Joyo DC15S - both of which I have videos for.
I just checked it and it's says it's just 3W. And I am confused it Watt determines the quality or other specs. Would appreciate your advice upon this bro.
Nice review, man? Did you by any chance have tried to plug a bass guitar in it? If not, can you try it and give me some output please? Thanks in advance. Cheers.
I have both the guitar and bass joyo amps. and I gotta tell ya, get the bass amp for your bass ! It's awesome, the guitar amp will NOT do your bass any justice. cheers!
It's rather 'meh' but fills a hole I guess. Would benefit from being fed into a bigger/better speaker. That internal buzz is unacceptable in any amp, regardless of cost. Some poor earthing in there somewhere or that PS is faulty!
I'm trying to set up my first electric guitar using this thingy... and I'm about to break down because there's this 'buzz' coming out of the speaker and I can barely hear the guitar sounds... someone please help
I like the quality of Joyo products for the price. However I didn’t like the sound of the amp in that demo. The clean tone was very one dimensional and the overdrive sounded to harsh to me.
The acoustic version of this amp was good in a pinch when you just need something battery powered on the cheap. If you plug it in it buzzes. Very simple controls unlike the NU-X mighty lite.
Sounds okay, but I'm suspicious of Joyo's motives for not including any effects. I mean, an amplifier made by a company famous for effects pedals leaving the effects out sounds like they just want you to buy pedals to get it right.
If I’m buying a small, portable, practice amp then I don’t want to have to haul a pedalboard around with me to make it sound good. That basically defeats the purpose of it.

Nice demo and review as always mate ! It has to have reverb for me though, thanks !
Or an FX loop

For bass its a little to low volume. But the guitar versions are proud enough
I think this is the best of the smallest amplifiers. it's amazing !!!
I love the fact that you've used non-bigbrand instruments. Also this boy is in bass version too with surprising quality.
I think the intro music had me distracted throughout the video haha amazing playing!

Maybe the best thing about it would be it's size. I could put it on a shelf in the workshop when I'm working on my guitars.
This is exactly why I just placed an order for one :)
Love your work, brother.
Was gonna go to Artist showrooms tomorrow in Sydney to check this out..
Wondering if it would suit a busking environment.
Buy the NUX BT LITE I did a video on it and it kills this amp.
hey thanks Shane! I picked one up for $40 and am using it with an average loudness passive neck humbucker. I think it'll work fine for playing outside with some hand drummers
That solo was super tasty.

damn thats insane man I love this demo kind of thinking of buying one

great amp review been looking for this
Got this cute amp. Tone just at 12 o'clock while gain at 2 o'clock for clean & gain. I only adjust the volume. Great for a desktop amp in my room.
Black star fly 3 is a much better practice amp, especially if you have the extension cab.
COOL LITTLE AMP !! SPEAKER TO SMALL FOR MY EAR .. NICE WORK SHANE !
I wonder how that would sound with IRig based effects. I’m thinking about backyard patio/porch practice fun battery powered.
hey shane! you should do a shootout comparison between the blackstar fly 3 & joyo and see how they compare that would be interesting! :)
I think for just a practice amp especially for beginners it’s good and especially for the price
Damn, that V of yours is a screamer. Beautiful sound.
Why didn't you run a reverb pedal as well?
In your opimnion is as good as a Boss Katana Mini ???
it isn't but it does make Boss Katana Mini feels much more expensive than it is
Love your playing in the intro! I heard it before and man... that is some sweet playing. Can I get the tab for it ? The amp, Not bad sounding either. Thanks for another great review Shane.
Seems ok 😊 it's no NUX though 🎸👍😝
Agreed. The NUX sounds shockingly good for the size.
@@ec50 NU-X is very good for the money! A cut above a lot of others of the same ilk.
Nasty buzz on the drive channel, only a little bit of headroom clean. It makes me wonder if Joyo put much thought into this little amp. You brought some good tones out in the demo. .
But will it work with right-handed guitars?
Nice demo, I'm gonna buy the amp.
First! Amplugs have reverb, chorus and delay... why it's so hard for joyo (and other 'big ones' like Boss with katana mini) to add a simple non tweakable digital reverb? It makes all the difference for me.
Just buy a microcube
katana mini has a delay (you can even use it as a slight reverb with delay time on min)
it sound very good . i never thought that it does sound as good. i wonder how it sounds with the Sweet baby pedal from joyo. or the AC Tone pedal.. ?
That's some pretty horrid buzz in the drive channel. :( Then again, $60 at Amazon. I wonder if using it on batteries gets rid of the buzz?
Shane, gonna do a Kemper Profile of the amp?
😳 Maybe!? 😂
Not even close to the Boss Mini :-( Great demo as always though Shane! :-)
Sounds like they built in a little reverb, the way it sounds. Blues On.... Ahh , you had a delay.
Muito bom seu teste, 👏👏👏
Hey bro, do you think this amp would be great for playing guitar in small groups like park areas or bus stops?
it might be okay for that sort of thing. It's just not very nice sounding. You might be better with the NUX BT Lite, that's a much better amp or the Joyo DC15S - both of which I have videos for.

Nice review, man? Did you by any chance have tried to plug a bass guitar in it? If not, can you try it and give me some output please? Thanks in advance. Cheers.
Hey man, they have the bass version, is the MA-10B, it’s about the same price, there are some reeviews on youtube
I have both the guitar and bass joyo amps. and I gotta tell ya, get the bass amp for your bass ! It's awesome, the guitar amp will NOT do your bass any justice. cheers!
@@its_minhle thanks for answering! Cheers
I'm trying to use the batteries for it since I lost the power cord, but the batteries aren't working
Is it possible to use a strap and play while walking?
Can we use a mic for singing with the guitar through aux input?
It's rather 'meh' but fills a hole I guess. Would benefit from being fed into a bigger/better speaker. That internal buzz is unacceptable in any amp, regardless of cost. Some poor earthing in there somewhere or that PS is faulty!
to fully understand thw potential of the amp ...only one type of guitar should be used
Is it possible to put a microphone into this one, if You want to sing?
I'm trying to set up my first electric guitar using this thingy... and I'm about to break down because there's this 'buzz' coming out of the speaker and I can barely hear the guitar sounds... someone please help
I like the quality of Joyo products for the price. However I didn’t like the sound of the amp in that demo. The clean tone was very one dimensional and the overdrive sounded to harsh to me.
Compared to the Rowland micro cube (just a tad bigger) this is pants.
I bought this amp, there is constant feedback, even when my guitar isn't plugged in. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Could be the power supply. The generic supply does hum a lot.Either use batteries or get another power supply.
would this work on a ukulele with a pick up?
Yes it will
As long as there is jack
please help. i just bought this exact amp and cannot get rid of feedback and distortion. Do you know what could be wrong? thanks.
Is it your guitar pickups? Either that or it’s on the drive channel. Does turning the volume and gain down help?
The acoustic version of this amp was good in a pinch when you just need something battery powered on the cheap. If you plug it in it buzzes. Very simple controls unlike the NU-X mighty lite.
Is it loud enough to jam with a drummer?
No its 10watts
Is this a tube amp or a solid state amp
ss
What type of tubes does it have? 😂😂😂
Right on maann right on!
Sounds okay, but I'm suspicious of Joyo's motives for not including any effects. I mean, an amplifier made by a company famous for effects pedals leaving the effects out sounds like they just want you to buy pedals to get it right.
yea, they want you to buy their pedals.
Niccce rippen Shane!!! Cheers likd 118
Great amp, must have!!!
Cool
Poor little amp having to deal with the might of the “V”.... 😬🎸
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Dude... you could make a tin can sound awesome!
no this tin can though :)
haha thanks mate!
Still can't beat a Roland Microcube.
It's only a 1/3rd of the price..I don't think it's trying to beat the microcube.
I'm betting many of these small marginal amps are turning some people off guitar.
No...the amp sounds bad...not even a reverb pedal can save it
No bro your guitar nor your playing suck
For your budget maybe.
Great demo. The amp sounds terrible.
Guitars show off :)
Sounds like crap IMHO
Bruno Cunha agree👍
For a battery amp this is stupidly cheap.
If I’m buying a small, portable, practice amp then I don’t want to have to haul a pedalboard around with me to make it sound good. That basically defeats the purpose of it.
La cosa era mostrar el ampli no las guitarras ja
Para el precio que tiene deberia sonar mejor ,porque creo que con un buen presupuesto se consigue uno mejor ,con poca diferencia económica....
While the video was good, please tighten your watch. Remove a link or something, it looks way too loose just flopping around like that
This is a little piece of crap.
My boss Kitana Mini is waaaay better than this.
And yes i have played both (i own The Kitana Mini)
Sounds like bees in a bottle.
Just use Joyo American Sound pedal, its a pré amp to simulate a fender sound. This combo sounds great !!!
