NEW YEAR TRAIN 2024 SANTIAGO LIMACHE VIÑA DEL MAR Chile
Episode of ANDO EN TREN (RIDING TRAINS) with the New Year 2024 Santiago Limache Viña del Mar train trip in Chile, a special service of the Railway Heritage Corporation, the State Railway Company, framed in the context of the tourist services of the Train of the Memorie.
For the first time that this special service is offered, the special train makes the trip from Santiago Central Station to Limache, passing through areas such as the Batuco wetland, the El Tabón slope, Llay Llay, the Aconcagua river, La Calera, Quillota. And in Limache, passengers combine with Metro Valparaíso, the urban train and commuter train service that connects Limache with Villa Alemana, Quilpué, Viña del Mar and Valparaíso. It is a 5-hour trip there and 5 hours back.
The train left in the afternoon, we arrived at night at the Miramar station in Viña del Mar, where people could walk to find a place to see the fireworks, the largest pyrotechnic show in Chile for the New Year. Valparaíso and Viña del Mar become a natural amphitheater, with many fireworks points and a wonderful show.
The formation of the train was 2 diesel locomotives (Transap D3501, EFE D7148), with cars from the RENFE 10,000 series that had Preferential, Super Salon and Tourist seats, a Cafeteria car from the same series, Linke Hoffmann cars with Salon seats, and a VideoBar car. In total, the train had capacity for 476 passengers, all tickets were sold and the train even had a waiting list.
On the return, at 03:00 in the morning, we took a special Metro Valparaíso service, on Alstom Xtrapolis 100 trains, we took the train from Limache to the Central Station of Santiago.
