I prayed yesterday for the gift of tongues. I watched this video and as the Pastor said I open my mouth and started repeating some of what he was saying. Then the Holy Spirit started speaking through me. It was amazing. Thank you God! Thank you Pastor!

In my experience, I prayed fervently for the Holy Spirits' presence that I was aware of around me ,to be in me. I had the expectation that He would fill me with the Holy Spirit. Once He answered my prayer and filled me, I knew it was happening. As I was joyously thanking the Lord for answering my prayer the pastor praying for me told me to surrender my tongue to the Holy Spirit. So I stopped thanking the Lord, opened my mouth, and started relaxing my tongue as a way of surrendering it. After about ten seconds I felt the Holy Spirit seize control of my tongue and I started fluently speaking in tongues. If my memory serves me right, I didn't even know what speaking in tongues was. The effect was staggering. Never had I felt such pure joy in my life. I was " beside myself" I was so happy. I hadn't just been filled with the Holy Spirit, I had been baptized in the Spirit which is to be filled to overflowing. It's the overflowing baptism that results in the Holy Spirit remaining in the believer. It's what the Word calls, " The anointing that abideth"(1John 2:27).

@@narrowwaytolife4525 In scripture there is what is known as types and antitypes. The types are the old covenants physical observances and under the new covenant, which began in Acts ch.2. The antitype fulfillment of the old covenants command to obey observance of the sabbath day is fulfilled under the new covenant. The Lord said," This is the rest and this is the refreshing"(Isaiah 28:11,12) is the old covenants fulfilling prophesied. This is the rest and refreshing that comes from recieving the Holy Spirit and speaking in " tongues" which is what gives us rest and is one spiritual language. The apostle Paul said that those who still observe the Law are under a curse ( Gal.3:10). Physically observing the Sabbath day is still obeying the Law.

In my experience, I prayed fervently for the Holy Spirits' presence that I was aware of around me ,to be in me.
I had the expectation that He would fill me with the Holy Spirit. Once He answered my prayer and filled me, I knew it was happening.
As I was joyously thanking the Lord for answering my prayer the pastor praying for me told me to surrender my tongue to the Holy Spirit.
So I stopped thanking the Lord, opened my mouth, and started relaxing my tongue as a way of surrendering it. After about ten seconds I felt the Holy Spirit seize control of my tongue and I started fluently speaking in tongues.
If my memory serves me right, I didn't even know what speaking in tongues was. The effect was staggering. Never had I felt such pure joy in my life. I was " beside myself" I was so happy.
I hadn't just been filled with the Holy Spirit, I had been baptized in the Spirit which is to be filled to overflowing. It's the overflowing baptism that results in the Holy Spirit remaining in the believer.
It's what the Word calls, " The anointing that abideth"(1John 2:27).

The antitype fulfillment of the old covenants command to obey observance of the sabbath day is fulfilled under the new covenant.
The Lord said," This is the rest and this is the refreshing"(Isaiah 28:11,12) is the old covenants fulfilling prophesied. This is the rest and refreshing that comes from recieving the Holy Spirit and speaking in " tongues" which is what gives us rest and is one spiritual language.
The apostle Paul said that those who still observe the Law are under a curse ( Gal.3:10). Physically observing the Sabbath day is still obeying the Law.
