99 to 06 Silverado Tailgate Rebuild, Amazon Product Review, Deal or Dud, How BAD can it be?

- Still working on my 2003 silverado 1500HD, got this full tailgate rebuild kit (link Below) and it was hit and miss.

They may have been marked wrong but you put the latch marked LH on the right side of the tailgate and the one marked RH on the left side of the tailgate.
I noticed that as well.......maybe the cables are also on the wrong sides? I'm buying a similar kit off Ebay for my '05 1500......
Always good to see your stuff and your real world view of things ..Reviews and "recommendations" are dependent on the point of reference of course, and true width of experience and objectivity. Tools can be a bit personal, but as always you get what you pay for .. well generally ..keep doing what you do. well done

I think you should try the Milwaukee Fuel line before making your decision that Milwaukee sucks.i have the standard ratchet and the fuel ratchet, so i know where your coming from. Everything else i own Milwaukee is fuel, 1/2”, 3/8”, 1/4” impacts, 1/4” drivers, 1/2” drills, etc. Ive been a technician for 25+ years, i love my Milwaukee power tools. Anyway, love the videos, keep them coming! 👍🏼
I’ve had nothing but issues with aftermarket cables on my 99 definitely worth a trip to the stealership for new ones less headaches. I had my truck LineX it kinda fixed the tailgate rattle now it shuts solid but it’s a tight fit you have to push the tailgate in before pulling the handle I’m told it’ll wear in eventually.
It possible the CZcamsrs you are thinking of that said the Milwaukee ratchet is great "could" have been sponsored by Milwaukee in some way, tools or money to say how wonderful the product is. I think it would depend on how many followers they have. If they have a large number of followers or often a large number of views then sponsorship is a high probability. Thanks you for keeping it real.
The oil pressure sensor is common to leak when it starts to fail.I have replaced a lot of them over the years.

my tailgate wont open at all so im just gonna risk it and see if i can get it to open with the kit hopefully they have gotten these issues fixed sense you made this video

I see this was one of those 30min jobs that somehow took all day, judging by the sun. I have heard mixed things about Milwaukee, some people swear by them and some people swear at them, not much middle ground. If you think the oil pressure sensor was expensive wait until you drop $100-$200 on a tire pressure sensor. My wife's Jeep needs three at $150 each, that's a hell of a scam.
I’ve been down that road before. Had one go bad and replaced it for $150. Only to have it still never work. Luckily (knock on wood) I haven’t had any issues on this truck.
Had the same kit did it on a bench made it way easier definitely didn’t like the hinges they were bent out the box left the stocks
Sometimes things just don’t go great I bought things for my cars and Jeep don’t work as well.
There’s supposed to be a washer between the cable and latch
I didn't have a washer, the bolt has a smooth part for it to rotate freely
