I've always wanted to know more about how friendly those two were.. there's the photo of them watching a Sebadoh show together with Jeff grinning all sweet & El just standing there nursing his beer with his eyes closed, no doubt listening deeply & fully engaged with & entranced by the band. Probably my two favorite musicians everrrr 😇

I’m so happy there’s a clean recording of this
the way he sounded a bit out of breath during the line “i’m tired of wasting my breath” was somehow so beautiful. Elliott leaves me in awe constantly. how i wish i was alive during the time he was writing and performing. unfortunately i was only almost 2 when he died. that will forever haunt me. rest well, Dear Elliott.
This is one of my favorite live performances of this song. He sings it so gently, like he was trying not to let the world know he was awake at sunrise. So softly. Let everyone sleep.
