Golf R is super impressive, Type R needs driver mod lol.
Thank you for your content
nah thats insane for just a mild tune... these mk8s are something else.
the want for the R grows stronger every day lol. makes me miss my mk7
Golf R had it with the tune and the lighter weight. It all depends what you want at the end of the day. A 2 door sports car or a 4 door hatch. Neither car is better than other.
Bro we have the same exact car lol I picked mine up in August I have 5k miles and love it. You’ve been a huge inspiration for mods parts races etc dude keep up the golf r content man lets go!
Funny, I had a tuned mk7 stage 2 APR.
Now I have a stock RWD m240i.
It's the torque that makes that car so strong. Stage 2 has over 400 ft lbs while the stock m240 is 369 (?) .
The straight 6 is amazing though. I love that motor. Dunno if I'll tune it.
Looks like a tune is adding more then 20-30hp😊. Btw elantra N is doing pretty good
I did not expect that. Fully thought the 240i would be a slow pull away from the R.
That b58 is an absolute weapon as well as that 888.4
🚗 💨
Golf R is doing work. Lol. Mine just came in a few weeks ago and I am loving it!
For a tune that is not running its full power your R ran impressively! I am curious to see some dyno numbers. You should do a re-run once you get the tcu cracked and tuned.
Yes it will make a huge difference. I have a buddy with one that’s cracked and it’s insanely fast
I have a 24 GLI, same engine as the GTI, but with the DSG, and the DSG is no joke.
Good content. What is the next car are you looking for?
Nothing for a while. I like my current lineup and plan on keeping them for a while
Test drove a Golf R mk8 recently and the steering feedback was numb, didnt got no feedback at all and the weight wasnt heavy on race mode. Is that normal ? Will test drive the m240/230 msport soon in hopes to feel more connected to the car.
The steering gets very stiff in race mode, almost too stiff. Not sure what you were feeling
Thats weird, my Tesla M3 and F56 cooper S were stiffer. The feedback on the cooper was crazy good. I wanted to love the Golf R but the steering feel/connection threw me off :( i love the car still 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Interesting
Very impressive on the roll. Car and Driver has the M240 X-drive at a 12.1 at 114 mph in optimal conditions and DA so this one would trap maybe 1 mph faster due to the 100 lbs less give or take. Would be interesting to see you flashing back to stock now and run him also stock
From a dig the rwd version will not trap 1mph faster than the xdrive, if anything it's 1mph slower. This is due to its inability to put the power down in 1st and 2nd gear, since it comes with toyota prius allseason tires. This coming from a m240i owner. Stock for stock the rwd m240i and mk8 will trap roughly the same. Now that mk8 got the extra bump with stage 1, thats why you see the slight pull from mk8. Oh and yea the m240i comes from factory with a annoying 128mph speed limiter, so you can't really do a 60-130 dragy time lol. Though mod for mod, the B58 will definitely crush EA888.
@@Kai240i I love the M240 and M340 and actually might get into it out of my MK8 R just to get a bit more comfort and little extra space but I don’t think the M240 or M340 crush the MK8 R mod for mod at all. There is a good amount of 10 sec 1/4 mile passes with the MK8 R if it has an unlocked TCU. I think they are a close match as the R is like 400-500 lbs lighter. The B58 makes more power mod for mod but it comes with a weight penalty
Stay tuned. I’m having a stage 1 e85 ecu/tcu tuned MK8R on the channel. It’s FAST for tune only
@@JVette01 Damn can’t wait to see. EQT has a MK8 R with a E85 ECU and TCU tune only and he ran a 10.93 at 123 mph but he did take the front and rear seat out and had drag radials on for traction. Thing moves for sure
I'm blown away with just a stage 1 that it's able to beat the M240i in the roll races!
I was too! And that’s without my transmission being tuned so it’s not fully utilizing the power either.
Golf R super understaded. It is a true weapon.
I kind of want a 25 now.
pretty close races, neck and neck pretty much, wonder how the xdrive would fair, probably pretty similar on a roll, probably a lot closer on a dig
X drive will most likely be slower on a roll because of the added weight. 100lbs probably won’t make a huge difference though.
@JVette01 yeah probably ,but the launch would be a lot closer ,probably neck and neck also
The performance between rwd and xdrive is the same, since in rolls, the xdrive becomes rwd, and the weight difference is within the margin of error (driver weight, amount of gas), so they will perform identically.
Found it
3400 lbs plus a tune and dsg vs 3800lbs stock with a torque converter.
Cant wait to pass the break in period on my 2024 golf R, taking it easy for the first 5,000km or 3000 miles for the americans. Everyday iam tempted to giver but being patient lmao... currently 1,200km on her aka like 750 miles XD
That burnout didn't do the 240 any favors. He spun them for too long, all he did was make the tires greasy. A quick burnout just to clean the tires is enough. The tires get warm from driving.
You run in Mexico? Obviously there is little traffic and those roads are beautiful. What about the lawman down there? What would happen if you were stopped by cops?
So if the m240i gets a tune it’s game over for most cars around that price point.
10 speed mustang GT and Camaro SS will beat it still unless the tune was on a ethanol blend.
what is your 100-200? In this case 61-125 I think 😂(metric vs imperial struggle) If that M240i does lower than 12.6 1/4 and 9.8 100-200 there is something wrong. This is what I tested with a RWD with dragy. Xdrive does about 10.5 100-200 due to trasmission drag. In the same conditions, Golf 8R fully stock in a colder day did 11.54 100-200. To be honest, there are 2 versions of this story. Either that M240i doesnt perform as it should or your tune is more like 400hp and very aggressive. I did this test last year when I wanted to buy another car and I was amazed by your results. This shouldn't happen 😂. As a small but important detail, the M240I that I tested had ZTK pack dat include michelin PS4S* with 245/255 width tires.
I was surprised too, but Dragy data shows the tune is only like 20-30hp over stock by trapping 2-3mph faster
i did some testing also it genuinely comes down to fuel and DA if we had 93 my car stock would run high 12s on 1/4th now i have piggyback with 91 i was able to do 12.5 not bad at all considering stock RWD M2 does 12.2
@@b58Narek here in Europe I used 100octane (here we have 95 or 100 premium, and some cases 102 but thats rare). This could be the answer for this result 🤔.
@@rautoiua lucky lol we live in Vegas we have 87-91Octane 91 is around $4 a gallon (3.8Liters) 100Octane is $10 for a gallon lol 😂 the 91 fuel is expensive and it’s not good quality fuel , in Texas they have 93 and most part of the east coast they have 93
@@JVette01 still very weird results. I ll try with my car when it will delivered and after the breakin period with 100octane 🤔(our premium gas). As both cars were doing the pull in the same conditions( atleast temperature/altitude/hunidity/slope) I only see fuel as the primary variable 🤔
Do stage 1 m240i xdrive also... since you are stage 1 .... and you would get walked.
Not so fast. Stage 1 golf r with a trans tune is very quick. Mine isn’t even utilizing the power of the tune since the trans dials it back anyway to keep it within factory parameters
regardless, it's tuned. just a 40 h tune increase in the m240i and it's bye bye@@JVette01
@@Bigguns761 Just ran the same m240i but he has a racechip. Stay tuned for that video
I found a video, a guy has an m240i xdrive, and he did only a race ship it added 40 hp and he runs quarter mile at 11.78 sec.@@JVette01
I'm sure that wind didn't help any of you also i would like a redo with the BMW with at least an MHD stage 2 tune.
Elantra N and bmw would be damn near tied
Yeah that’s weird cause the N and R looked the same as the R and 240i. @JVette01 you gotta do more mods to the R bro you got all the money lol
I have a video coming out soon on a stage 1 e85 golf r that has a trans tune and it’s insane. Super fast. Keep an eye out for that vid
I am very surprised with the roll race against M240i. I thought BMW would kill your VW. R was walking away. That is very impressive.
