I'm a 50YO white rock / metal fan, so I'm not about to proclaim any kind of authority about hip hop (except I _will_ say I remember when rap first hit in the early 80s, esp. Paid in Full, which to this day a total masterpiece).
All I wanna say is that ever since I cottoned on to Del in the mid-90s or so (he had a track on the Judgement Night soundtrackm, _Missing Link,_ a collab between Del & Dinosaur Jnr. PLEASE check it out, cos it's fuckin' fire. Best song on a hell of an album (soundtrack to a shitty movie lol)...I've loved Del & Heiroglyphics.
...and _Jaw Gymnastics,_ by Del feat. Casual, on Del's 2000 masterpiece _Both Sides of the Brain,_ is *_SHIT. FU*KIN'. HOT._* The whole album is unbelievable. _Offspring_ (Del + El-P) put me onto El-P & Company Flow. (Hey, uh...have I earned any street cred yet, guys? _Guys?)_
PS: One thing I DO know, is that Del's thrown a whole bunch of, uh...codes (lol) into his work over the years. If you pay attn to his lyrics, he admits it. You get that _'Deltron 3030' is a Code 33 drop, right? 33 = highest degree in (Scottish Rite) Freemasonry. Don't get me going, cos Del, being the smart cookie he is (won a scholarship in English @ high school), has obviously sussed out quite a lot, and dropped tons of hints in his music (lyrics, art, song names etc). And not KRS1 / Griff type inside-disinformation ;p
The liks at one point were my favorite rap group (still in my top 5 favorite), but casual, he was a beast on the battle scene, fell out hard when safiir served him and the whoy hieroglyphics camp
Saafir did not serve the "entire crew" lol and it's clear casuals still better because he's still relevant enough compared to either of these dudes
