- I almost forgot the Green Lantern/Green Arrow Absolute and had to grab it toward the end. But I breakdown the Silver Age Omnibus, Geoff Johns 3 volume epic, the Brightest Day Omnibus, and the Absolutes.
Three years later, 2021, and Gem is still sitting in his room trying to get that Sinestro Core Wars out of the slipcover..

Green lantern is my favorite dc hero, great collection. I kinda wanna get into absolutes now. I like how you just enjoy collecting, it's refreshing. Instead if being worried about people calling you out about the parallax stuff or spectrum stuff. People can be too hard up when it comes to hobbies and passions

I've got the first two off of instock but I still have to pick up number three. thx for the vid and I will get to it as long as instock has it all the books I get from amazon come with dented corners, really bad and warped covers. instock is the best way to go even though you pay a little more once in a while on the books.

Crazy you couldn't get the Sinestro out of it's case, the Sinestro Corps War is collected in the tail end of the first Johns Omni.

Also, just as another suggestion maybe you could do all the omnibus and absolutes from the DC imprint vertigo because there aren't many vertigo comics
Looks like vertigo has Transmetropolitan, Preacher, Sandman, and Y The Last Man in Absolute. Doom Patrol and Invisibles in Omnibus.
Maybe you could make a video about them, there are also some more vertigo omnibus like Animal Man (I know Grant Morrison's run was published before vertigo came out but it has the vertigo logo on it and it's the same with Doom Patrol), IZombie, House of Secrets and there might be more

My Sinestro Corps War Absolute was stuck like that too. I can't put it back in the sleeve without damaging the dust jacket. So, now on the shelf it looks as though I have two copies!

Great video my man. My favorite hero is Green Lantern, and yes, Sinestro Corps War is in Volume 1 of Geoff Johns run. I think it concludes Vol 1, and then you go into Volume 2, where the Blackest Night kicks in.

Hey Gem big question how am i supposed to know the table of contents in the omnibus i have the first one and assuming “what it collected “was the order of the book is that true for example it collects GREEN LANTERN rebirth 1-6 ,GREEN LANTERN CORPS:Recharge 1-5 etc.. will the first 5 issue of this book be REBIRTH then RECHARGE THE NEXT 5 issues then so on?

Keep these videos coming. I love them. I wouldn't get the Absolutes for these. I'd stick with the omnibuses. If all the Absolutes were as well crafted and thought-out as the Sandman Absolutes, they might be worth it. As it stands, however, I think DC churns out way too many Absolutes (with no new bonus material) as just a money grab. With something like Geoff John's Green Lantern, the main attraction is the writing, more so than the art. Not all artwork looks good in the larger format, either. I didn't think the Watchmen artwork looked better in the Absolute. To the contrary, I thought it looked kind of fuzzy and washed out. On the other hand, the George Perez artwork in the Absolute Crisis On Infinite Earths is amazing. You also make a good point about dust jackets. If the book is in a slipcase, there's no need for a dust jacket.
Yea all you need are the omnis for sure...Blackest Night is a cool Absolute though.

I'm just looking into things since I'm wanting to start a collection, from the beginning of the New 52. However, while looking at the volumes, it notes volume 3 is the end of Geoff Johns run. I'm contemplating wether to get the Omnibus's or not.

If I get Vol 1 - 3 of the omnibus for Geoff Johns’ run will I still need to get the Brightest Day omnibus? Or is the entire run covered in just those three?
Brightest Day is not included in the Geoff Johns volumes. It's a follow up story.
I noticed the covers of the issues in the omnibus do not have the title and there is no table of contents. Are these issues placed in reading/chronological order or the order of the material as it is listed on the back cover? I was a bit confused as to what issue I was reading.

#JaY RoX I think youll be straight. Vol 1 just brings Hal back and introduces the different color lanterns. I just checked instocktrades.com and they have all 3 volumes for $65 shipped each.

I have a question, the Omnibus Volume 3 of Johns, does it actually contain #53-67? , cuz both in Amazon and the official DC website it says #53-60. I'm kinda confused.
I know this is a months old question, but I'm looking into getting the omnibuses and I read on reddit that's a typo from DC propagated to Amaxon and other sites. The omnibus does collect those 7 missing issues from the description.

If I buy all 3 of Geoff John's Green Lantern omnibuses, will any of the 3 omnibuses include, "Green Lantern: Rage of the Red Lanterns" *in it's entirety*? Or would one of the 3 omnibuses only include the first issue of "Green Lantern: Rage of the Red Lanterns", or something?
Second question is similar to the first but replace "Green Lantern: Rage of The Red Lanterns" with "Green Lantern: Agent Orange".

John's vol has the blackest night main story and GL ties in. the blackest night omni will have that, plus all the tie ins from the other DC titles

I wish I could get a copy of the Brightest Day Omnibus. I just got back into reading comics after 15 years and that sucker is so hard to find. I'm hoping that they'll have a 10th Anniversary new printing edition this year just like Blackest Night.

If I recall, the beginning of the story references Hal being possessed by parallax, which was from the 90’s run. You don’t need to necessarily read that to enjoy this run. But just know that it happened.
So in the omnibus is it continued so you can read it and it's the full story

I have `eaglemoss's special subscribers hardback editions collecting sinestro corps war, prelude to blackest night, blackest night and brightest day. Despite being quite hard to find the latter ons these days I can highly recommend them as fantastic editions to own and read, far more comfortable than these omnibus's. (Still want them though, Geoff Johns has great flow)

If i already understands who green lantern is and his powers would you recomend reading the silver age omnibus to get fimiliar with the corps and its character and whatever or is geoff johns run easy enough to fallow with just knowing green lantern
Xbox-Ps4 player the johns run does leave off on a storyline where Hal was possessed by parallax and was a villain (which i didn’t know), so they let you know that and you just follow from there.
