As a kiwi - im glad you enjoyed your trip - and your lucky you managed to get out when you did - as shortly after the lockdowns started supermarkets began limiting how many people were allowed in the store at any given time - so as a result there were long lines outside waiting to get in and then there was limits on what you could buy other than that thou - PLEASE if your unsure how to pronounce something please ask ---- we dont bite ...... it was grating hearing Weta as Wee ta ..... its pronounced as Wet....A and there were a few others but yeah We honestly dont bite if your unsure
We are sorry about the mispronunciations - it is possible that we heard the right way, but since it was four years ago, we might have forgotten - it's hard to break those first mispronunciations 😬. We wish we could have spent more time talking to locals but with the pandemic looming we didn't have very many interactions after hitting the South Island. We're looking forward to coming back, chatting with more kiwis, and learning how to say all your lovely words correctly!
