In 'Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme', performed by the Netherlands Bach Society for All of Bach, everything revolves around the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. They wait throughout the night with burning lamps for the arrival of the bridegroom. Five of them have brought along extra oil to keep their lamp burning. The others run out of oil and go off to buy some more. The bridegroom arrives while they are away.

As an organist it's always refreshing to hear this version of 'Wachet auf' (Schübler Chorale), it helps to play the organ piece more vocally.

This group is so ‘off the Richter scale’. So sublime. It just doesn’t get better than this, with the exception of being there in the audience, or with Bach himself. I especially love the tenor and the organist in this group.

      @@alpinoalpini3849 Thanks for your comment!
Mine was a comment to the fragment of the cantata "Zion hört die Wächter" composed by Bach, who composed music to give Glory to God, as he wrote at the end of each of his scores: "Soli Deo Gloria".
Like Bach, my conviction is that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, far from being an “wishful and elitist thinking”, is the reality of the merciful call of the Sovereign God that extends to all humanity and that also invites you to the certainty of a hope that transcends our poor and short existence:
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
The lyrics of this cantata BWV 140 speak of this; If you listen to Bach, it is advisable to read the translation of the lyrics of his cantatas (www.bach-cantatas.com/), where his compositions masterfully express the statements of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; to that he dedicated his life and work.
