    Codfish case of not following the "rules" completely is what makes his beatbox unique and special. Of course, it is important sometimes to follow rules such as tempo, structure but I repeat, if you are going to do it as well as Codfish, it is very good.
    Perhaps now that you are a judge in competitions, you are more aware of certain points to grade, but let's remember that Beatbox is about being free and inspiring and projecting the music as you see it.

      Ikr and the title is “ reaction “ not “ analyzing “ gbb has been lacking taste since gbb 21 tbh nowadays beatboxers compete with skill and the formulas to score points not with more creative and well tasting drops. And it is less entertaining than it was then.

    To explain it shortly, disregarding the fact that his vibration texture is unfathomably good, Codfish’s last vibration bass drop is absolutely insane because of how difficult it is to switch the vibration bass pitches from low to high (which btw high pitch vibration bass is very hard to do and control).

    • @ryanfelts9718
      @ryanfelts9718 Před 3 měsíci +4

      To me, the hard part isn't switching from low Vibration bass to high Vibration bass, it's the fact he's doing it while maintaining the texture.
      For me to switch pitch, I move the pocket that I use to amplify the Vibration, but doing that also changes the texture. I'm guessing he squeezed the pocket so hard that he could get a scale out of that pocket, which is insane.

  • @marius_musteata
    @marius_musteata Před 3 měsíci +239

    9:47 - yes, it's vibration bass raised in pitch, but it's not easy at all.
    You can do this sound more through your nose (like that high pitched note) or more through your vocal cords/your throat... like throat bass.
    And he's combining this 2 pitches.

    • @ReLLiKMaster.
      @ReLLiKMaster. Před 3 měsíci +26

      Adding to it: It's a whole different position you need to take with your throat to get it to sound like that.
      You kind of need to strain your throat, basically tensioning it up, to reach the desired pitch and then slowly release the tension to go down in pitch, that's at least how I managed to get it to work.
      Stuff like this is hard haha.

    • @lautaroclementino6597
      @lautaroclementino6597 Před 3 měsíci +12

      I'm a vibrarion bass enthusiast, and I normally like to do high-pitch not nassal vibration as well as the lowest pitching. So I do have a wide pitch range, but even then I struggled a lot to replicate codfish's beat as flawlessly as he did.

    • @billybarton4645
      @billybarton4645 Před 3 měsíci +2

      normally i just release more air and reduce the strain at the vibrating part to raise in pitch . but it's still hard to hit the pitches that clean

      @@ReLLiKMaster. I believe that is pretty standard stuff when you pitch. Not saying it's easy but rather the fact that's a natural thing while doing it, I do it in the same way.

    • @slendydie1267
      @slendydie1267 Před 3 měsíci +2

      Indeed it is. Vibration bass is such a weird bass that most people usually when they finally learn it they stick to the same pitch because otherwise the texture changes. If I got that high mine breaks for sure. Its crazy the control he has over vibration bass.

    What I can tell you having lived in the track for a while, the vibration bass is just pitching and down. It sounds incredible because it’s so clean. If play a piano at a low bass note Vs a note even an octave above, the perception of timbre (how stuff sounds) changes. It sounds so unique because people are rarely using vibration bass melodically.

    Hey dlow! 9:38
    Im a Master of subharmonics, expecially Vibration Bass. I learned a inward Vibration Bass last year aswell, thanks to getting the original of alienbass of indicator.
    Easy explaination :
    His normal Vibration Bass is simply a very strong Vibration Bass, the crackle of codfish that He uses to get Vibration Bass, is absolutely mastered. He can change the Vibrations at will, without adding pressure. Its insane! So instead of using more or less pressure, like a lot of beatboxers use These days(which is why lots of people have Bad Vibration basses, they got the concept wrong) He adds normal voice notes, that strengthen his Vibration naturally, which is why is sounds so amazing. It allows him to use frequencies that are quite Hard to archive, while sounding full, without loss of Bass or natural Tones of his singing. He does it almost perfectly.
    BUT.. He uses high Vibration Bass. A Bass that you can not archive by using falsetto normally in Vibration Bass . Those are 2 Different Vibration basses!! The high Vibration Bass should be very easy for you. Tutorial : you just humm in falsetto and add Vibration Bass slowly, until the the Vibration is extremely Electronic, then you remove the falsetto and try to remember the Position you had while using it. You are pressuring the voice at your vocalcords that are quite higher, thus archiving a overtone on your voice. You need to use your vocal cords at full Power (a lot easier to find it that way) Codfish uses it slighty, and Not too strong, which allows him to use it With his normal voice or going slighty higher than that. that means He is able to use his normal voice 100% matching the Vibration, going as high as He needs, which is why it sounds so flawless and incredible !! He is pitching it Amazingly. A full Power high Vibration Bass, is extremely Hard to keep up, 3-4 Minutes before your voice surrenders. If you would use it full Power, IT sounds extremely like a combination of Alien Bass + Vibration Bass, but in probably the fifth-sixth subharmonic register.
    Would love to teach it to you! Much love brother ❤ amazing content as always 🎉

      since i never knew about anyone, i called it BloodBass. It Was extemely dificult to archive. Was Training it for many months, and when i had b-day, i mastered the Control. Imagine how i screamed when i got it.(know the dlow Video where He discovers a New Sound and goes crazy? Yeah that Was me 3x Times on top) My friends where in shock, we Partied all night 🤣👍🏽
      After visiting some discord Servers, and showed it around, people told me i should think about a cool name, and name it. I was training subharmonics and archiving them just by normal voice. Thats how i discovered something is weird With Vibration Bass. The Bass itself is made by using Power on the vocal cords, going outward. We use throatbass or chest Bass to explain the concept of Vibration Bass, which is awfully wrong. Would explain why some beatbox archive it, but Sounding Bad. Im still mastering BloodBass, could take years to have every inch of Control. Its very Strong today, but there is more to it, i can feek it.

    Hey D-Low I’ve been beatboxing for about 10 years and I use vibration bass very consistently, you are absolutely correct in your idea of pitched vibration bass, you can build a range over time both in higher and lower pitches much the same as inward bass, I personally can pitch my vibration bass anywhere from a G2 to a C1 on occasion. A huge disclaimer though is especially for those higher pitches you have to strain your vocal chords to hell and back in order to maintain the subharmonic

I can pitch it pretty well and for me it just feels like naturally tightening up the throat to reach higher pitches and I can barely reach a fourth upwards. 9:45 that's not a simple high pitched vibration bass, there's like 3 notes instead of two at the same time, probably he relaxes a lot more his vibration, that is still crazy

    Pretty much the further the 2 pitches of vibration bass are from each other, the more delicate it becomes to do. Codfish's range is absolutely ridiculous

    When vibration bass is something you mainly do and work on a lot it’s quite easy to get what codfish is doing here and replicate. It is hard though for somebody that doesn’t utilize it on a more frequent basis and you need to practice to get those specific tones the first try otherwise you get something that doesn’t sound good

    @Dlow Beatbox, about his vibration bass, I can do it an the only thing I have to do is vibration bass, change the shape of the air in my mouth(narrow it for high pitch and more open for lower pitch) and chnage slighly the pitch

  • @theYeti1000

    You have a very analytical mind but to understand the chops and changes, it is purely a feel. And that is what Codfish has, musical feel. When you move beyond timing and technicality to produce musical feel. Which is the soul of music.

    The lip buzz is subtle it's not literally using lips just making it narrow for the bass to come out like that
