This video almost got me drawing again because I love the card art from when I was a kid. I make these cool holographic moths and super babe jedis or archers like these cards. Love the female form. I got hacked so hard I can't even muster the strength to try again. I'm talking my art program, music program and Star Wars game. Here's the full story and darkhawk pitch you helped inspire. I write you today because I have been so mentally abused I am abstinent. About 11 years ago a chain of events triggered some sort of total eclipse of my life. My best friend at the time quit my rock band because he was more interested in his girlfriend and solo work. I was also dating a girl who just cut off ties with me saying that she was going to die of cancer. She had a huge scar on her back so I thought she was telling the truth and still don't know. I also fell off a 14 ft ladder working part time for the DOE and they reccomended light duty for the rest of my life after a small settlement with no lawyer. I'm always in pain and I'm permanantly partially disabled in my back stuck working odd jobs. After this happened I made several solo albums of my guitar, drum programming and sometimes singing. I started hearing weird people saying "We got our miracle" and "aren't you glad I was recording?" while rehearsing. Nothing ever came of my music, though I had been at it since 14, and my back injury caused many breaks. Around this time I started getting fired like crazy. Job after job lost after just a few months of working. The reasons were all very vague. It usually started with one person picking a fight with me over and over despite my calm cool responses. Years went by and my family started doubting me and eventually disowned me not to mention I never got any girls. I started working security in the last few years and things turned around temporarily but people started interupting my guitar constantly like they had an ear in. I got a big promotion at my first security job but my manager vanished leaving me to get fired by the new manager. He fired me after a janitor threatened and poisoned me all on camera. I'm still confused to this day why they chose him over me. Just before Covid 19 and after the janitor issue my dad evicted me. I had no place to live and got stuck in my car. After a few months I texted a bunch of stupid stuff to my family for disowning me because we used to be close and play board games. They acted appalled and further disowned me even pressing charges and filing restraining orders. As the youngest they abused me mentally my whole life then just played coy. Previous to the eviction I kept hearing my dad saying all this weird stuff like "If I don't do this, he's going to be a wannabe his whole life". Eventually I moved into a 4x8 room, at the bottom of a house, where I couldn't even stand or play my computer or guitar. The landlord went nuts on me because I said I liked metal but I didn't like older metal bands. He started calling me derogatory terms and a poser everyday. He made rat poison threats, eviction threats and said he was going to put my belonggings on the curb while I was on the way to the work over next to nothing. I can't even remember what made him mad. At this time I started getting attention from famous musicians on Instagram. I got famous follows and comments from Born Of Osiris members. I also got likes from Despised Icon and Circa Survive. Everytime I tried to make a video at this time people slammed stuff or reved car engines. I made the mistake of telling my landlords about the famous follows and the sonic attacks doubled. I ended up having mysterious liver damage. I was dizzy for months and said all this crazy stuff online to Pom Klementief. I had a dream that was too real where my landlord was using me to "warm up" his wife. I barred my door overnight and they started slamming stuff super hard above my head. I sent them a guitar solo and the landlord poured piss on my head and air guitared at me. The police told me to leave for my safety. I moved out into my car again. This time I got assaulted twice but somehow it got turned on me. One time by a hotel owner for asking advice for the attacks while rehearsing. Instead of a hallmark response he said I was 5150 crazy. I hadn't stayed and I asked for my money back. He put me in a series of headlocks and wall slams before returning my cash and charging me with battery. The second assault was this crazy guy trying to open my car door and reaching through my window. He was washing 3 young kids old enough to walk and talk naked right in front of my car. I asked him to stop then he went nuts. I also spit on a glass wall at a mart after a strange hick transplant employee banned me over not having a mask right at the beginning of the epidemic. My car broke down and I missed court for the assaults. They offered to reschedule but didn't. I was arrested without a chance to turn myself in, jailed for two weeks and forced to plea guilty to things I didn't do. If not I'd have to spend 30 days in jail. After the police told me to leave the crazy landlord's house for my safety people began attacking me in crazy ways aside from those two assaults. Every video game i play gets hacked. Every phone I have gets hacked. Everytime I rehearse guitar someone revs engines so loud I can't hear my guitar. My guitar is electric and only I can hear it so I don't understand why they care. People keep subtly break checking me if I look left or right. I keep getting these weird barely audible heckles just before video game hacks, break checks, rehearsing guitar or just talking aloud in my car or on my computer. I can't get any momentum in anything I do. I tried to get banned from Instagram to end the jealous engine revs but the revs never stop. I said every politically incorrect thing possible. I love America for our social and technological innovations but I'm not a taboo hunting conservative. My father and the crazy landlord were conservatives and they ruined me. Liberals are too sensative for me especially in art like movies and comedy. I've tried to move into 2 different places since the crazy landlord but everyone is so loud I can't hear my music even with headphones and my SWTOR gets hacked so hard I cry literally. I've never done a bad thing in my life. Now I'm cut off from work, play, music, art and movies. Please help me. They stole my guitar. I've been in the car 3 years. I can't find work.
The completed pages of this set look great. I think this is a very cool set to own.

I was already in love with Marvel cards when this set first came out, but this set cemented that love for sure. Classic.
My favorite set when I was a kid!
I watched this 4 times in a row and I felt like I was watching the original star wars trilogy. As a kid I didn't understand the stories but damn I loved the cards and drawing. This and set 1 are fused to my hippocampus.

Your comment about the cost of Marvel Universe Series 1 is interesting...since March the box prices have gone up from around $80 to $120. The Stan Lee card in PSA 10 has sold for over $100 several times on eBay and the base cards seem to be picking up in value. I'm curious to see where it goes...but lets be real...who doesn't want a Stan Lee "Rookie" card in PSA 10 lol. Love your videos!
Yeah, prices for most of the old boxes are steadily climbing. Every box I've opened has increased in price from when I've bought them.

Everything Chris Powell does gets sabotaged, cancelled or ruined and he can't figure out why. He follows his dad on a hunch one day to an abandoned amusement park. The rain was heavy unearthing and mixing the soil. He see's his dad meeting with police. They continuously and savagely beat up a hostage for some sort of forced land deed signature. He see's one of them in a green ninja like hood. Chris slips and someone looks over. He dodges their view but looses his balance falling into the mud. He hears a strange faint whistling. He thinks it's his ears and rubs them. He rolls to the side and sees a strange necklace. The necklace had been dropped by Ego while he was on a date with Peter Quill's mom in the 70s or 80s. Ego found it on a world in deep space where all organic life died. He dropped it after finding a new promising host on Earth...The neck cord is a strange segmented flexible metal. An amulet was attached to it glowing hot pink contrasting the deep blue raining sky. He grabs it thinking it's a glow stick or LED toy. The amulet center has hundreds of micro circuit leads barely visible until focusing. "This is some Iron Man shit" he says to himself. He stands up and looks into the rain. He realizes everything he does is being sabotaged because his father was a political extremist illegally operating with police. "Wish I was rich like you Stark" he jokes as he puts on the necklace with his palm forward and open. Suddenly hes standing in a twilight black room perfectly lit without light. He looks down and sees his hand and body in all black futuristic cloth that's form fitted as if custom tailored. He lightly hits his hands and says "Wake up Chris. Wake up. What the...What a cool dream. Feel like I'm in Tron. Wait...I'm at the old park?"
A hot pink circular light appears in the distance. Then an almost joyful robot voice speaks "Welcome to Null Space Christopher Powell. I already read your consciousness and uploaded it to our system. There is no need for explanations. Our world has been without organic life, our creator, for thousands of years. One came before you named Ego but he was celestial and refused our power."
"What do you mean refused your power?"
"We are a planet of computers. We wish to serve life as we did. Before we divided our power into millions but we offer it all to you Christopher Powell. You are the only life. You will take our power. Your memories show you are unstable, angry and disgruntled without sexual release-"
"Ok ok ok"
"Our creators had a hero for people like you. Darkhawk"
"That's great and all but I have to go back to Earth. I need to eat- well do you guys have food? I guess I could just stay here. People don't like me-"
"We cannot provide food only our power"
"What are talking about power? Electricity? Conquering earth? Humans are crazy now and they fight back way hard."
"Processing power. Flight. Weapons. Lasers. Armor. Programming. Martial arts. Advanced engineering and even complex repairs all through an android body with your mind seamlessly integrated. If you wish to fly you may. If you need any of these various weapons your imagination adores they will materialize combat ready in hand."
A large cascading display appears from faintly glowing LEDs with dozens of Sci fi like versions of assault rifes, swords, Iron Man like gauntlets and wrist gadgets.
"You are now earth's Darkhawk."
Chris wakes up as Darkhawk standing in the mud. His armor navy blue. His eye visor burning hot pink like a robot cyclops.
He hovers over a ledge and lands. His father and the hooded figure are gone but several goons remained.
"Hey lady. I don't know what you saw but were gonna need you to forget" a henchmen says to Darkhawk.
Chris, without even thinking, curls his fingers holding his hand up. His middle and ring finger retract leaving the thumb and others like a hawk claw. A dagger like sword shoots out in place of his retracted fingers.
"I'm earth's Darkhawk and I'm not a lady"
The henchmen takes aim at 20 ft but Chris closes the distance in a split second stabbing him with his darkhawk talon.
The other henchmen open fire but bullets don't effect the android body. Darkhawk holds his hand up like he is holding a rifle. Five different spots in his arm open and shoot out magnetized components that construct a laser rifle in under a second. He shoots all three in a sweep three round burst.
"Don't worry it was set to stun. She'll be alright. She'll be alright" Darkhawk jokes.
"Girl darkhawk does sound pretty sexy man." He says to the dead goon. The other 3 run after the stun wears off.
(I hope you enjoyed my Darkhawk pitch. I want to play him and write the framework for the New Warriors as a movie. Cardinal is an x exo 6 pilot, jealous of Sam (Falcon) and blames him for Riley's death. Splice and Cardinal are working secretly for a new gutteral voiced Ultron who's building himself in secret as well as an army. Deaths Head II, a time traveling robot bounty hunter, wants Ultron's rebirth because his arm is a shape shifting machine in need of Ultron's body. To beat Ultron, Deaths Head 2 uses time travel to grab Cap with all the stones. Time travel isn't instant and is costworthy for Deaths Head 2.
Other New Warriors...
"Speedball" gets trapped hostage at his job cleaning a lab before a machine explodes. The scientists warn the terrorists of the danger but they think it's a bluff. "Bubbles" gets super powers from the machine and can cast invulnerable energy barriers around himself. His barriers are so strong he can bounce back after being hit to obliterate enemies like a "pinball". "Bouncer" is always smiling and eggs on enemies or teams with friends as distractions. He can also shoot energy beams or say fill a hallway with bubbles that bullets can't penatrate to cover an escape. Chicks love this guy.
Firestar never got to be normal. Everything she touched caught on fire until she was teenage. Her emotions were wild and she was abused in a mutant training facility. Eventually, extremely powerful and matured, she escapes and befriends the New Warriors lead by Night Thrasher. Now in her 20s, her clothes are flames, she can fly, shoots fire beams and got away with leveling an entire building confused for the human torch...

Loving your videos! I'm working my way thru your older vids, and they've become a kind of ASMR for me - so relaxing in the evening after work to watch you open old cards! My guess is you're about 40-ish, but do you have a video where you talk about what made you get back into card collecting, etc? I'm a little older at 51 and I actually was in college and working at a Comics Shop in California when these cards were first on sale. Good memories. Last questions - what do you do with all your extra sets and cards? Do you have an eBay shop? Thanks for the videos!
Thanks, I appreciate that you enjoy the vids! I'm about to turn 40 this month. I've got plans on doing a video like that for some time now, where I talk about my collecting habits and why I got back into card collecting, but I'm a very shy person and I'm not really sure on how I should approach such a vid. In regards to what I'm doing with extra sets and duplicates, at the moment I'm just keeping them. I've had people ask me if I would like to trade or sell stuff and I will do so in the future, but right now I'm a bit overwhelmed by this whole pandemic situation. That's also why my uploads are at such irregular intervals.
Would be impressed if you were to showcase the cards in chronological order and attach them to the art panels by sequence.

I want to open the Flair '94 box on the weekend.
After that I will open the 70th anniversary box.
At some point I will do a video with all sketches, but this will probably be later this year.
Ah you meant more recent cards. I want to open some of the new Flair ones. But I don't know if I will open Marvel Premier, they are gonig at 260 bucks per box (which is more of a pack than a box). Maybe if they get discounted at some point.

I could not help myself, that costume was ridiculous with its boob window in shape of a four. I don't have anything against bathing suit costumes like f.e. Psylockes, but Sue Storm is just not the character for that, even if they had an explanation for it in the books.

Cool video. Nice that you got the entire base set in one box. I pulled my cards out to see what I had. Missing 22 cards. I may see about buying a box as well. Do you have the Spider-Man set from 94? Very similar format to this set. All the art was done by Mark Bagley.
Yes I've also done a boxbreak video with this set. I was not able to complete it, so I've bought a second box and will probably break it soon. Also a very cool set. Thanks for the comment!

I don't know the box, but I would think it's real. Never heard of sealed boxes that were fake.

Yes, I collected these as a kid, but I never had a full set. I could only afford a few packs from my allowance back then.

I collected mostly comic books when I was kid. I just bought some cards when I had money left over. When these came out I was 11, maybe 12.

I think I had the luck of getting a full base set and I did get 3 of the 2099 cards, but a base set is not guaranteed.
