I would have never guessed this would be the best battlefield ever made. I thought this was the start of the new biggest game series ever, but they never captured this magic in a bottle again. BF4 was an expansion on this. But it just didn’t have the same feel or hype. This was the pinnacle. It’s both amazing and saddening
Well, BF4 made the gameplay better... Fact is, BF4 gameplay is still "modern" And since BF3 came first, of course an "updated" version of it won't feel the same Although, technically it works as a better game

Its 2023 and I still miss this gem. Perfrct anticipation for perfect game. Played 2042 and others for like 10-15 hours and not excited about it any more. Over 300 hours in this game. Those were the days.
This was the last time EA tried a controversial single-player story and the gaming press called it generic because they were too scared to piss off Activision by criticizing CoD.
Lets never forget that Modern Warfare was back in 2007 the Godfather of Modern Shooter Games. Battlefield Games just copied the Elements but only in a way more Large Levels and Using Tanks and Vehicles.

Cod multiplayer wasn’t even around until 2004. It was more like Cod was all about campaign then decided to copy BF’s success by adding online.

After rewatching the 2042 trailer, I can say it is better at showing the game and its gameplay mechanics. However, this game's trailer just rules in terms of music, story and nostalgia.

we keep saying that for every battlefield game, when hardline comes out we will say "BF4 was batter than hardline" like how we say BF3 was better than BF4, so transitive property says BF1>BF4.
Maybe the graphics have improved for obvious reasons but as far as single and multi player gameplay is concerned, then this still holds good today in 2022.

The hype build up around this game was insane. By far one of the best battlefield experiences ever created
