  • The Bishop's Opening starts out with the moves 1. e4 e5 2. Bc4. It goes against conventional wisdom of developing knights before bishops. Black usually responds by playing Nf6, Nc6, or Bc5.
    If black plays 2...Nf6 then white can play the Urusov Gambit with 3. d4. You can see a dedicated video on that opening on our website. www.thechesswebsite.com/uruso...
    Time Stamps:
    2...Nf6 0:58
    2...Nc6 10:33
    3...Bc5 13:05

    Something I've noticed about this author is that he never goes over the option for Black that the engine says is the best. In this case, 4 ... Nc6 5. e5 d5. Of course White is going to have a good game if Black plays non-optimal moves!

    • @lesterchua2677
      @lesterchua2677 Před rokem

      Yes. I was wondering why didn’t he go to the freeing move against all these “sneaky” openings.
      I remember from long ago that the freeing move D5 at the correct time always gives black the equalizer if not an outright advantage.
      Which is why all these white openings fell out of favour.
      D5 is key.

    On 17:07 there's a better option to take the pawn Bf2 with check. Either way the White recaptures, the knight will capture the pawn with attack on the Queen or King. So when the dust settles, the material is approximately equal.

    • @onlimi616
      @onlimi616 Před 2 lety

      I think it's a little difficult to check the king in the beginning such that the only move your opponent has is to move their king. Usually in the beginning your opponent can just protect the king from your check with one of his other pieces. But if you are clever enough to set up a situation where your opponent's only logical move is to move the king, then by all means do so and kudos to you! I would say that is very good play!

      Yeah I try to cover the most common ones but there are a ton of variations. As long as you know the main principles you should be ok.

      The bc4 Qg4 line, works pretty well, I've actually gotten multiple mates in 5 with that line, regardless that line brings In a lot of play

    18:14 Is that a legal move? Can black castle while it’s rook is under attack..?

    • @jerrymeek2436
      @jerrymeek2436 Před 2 lety

      yes.. as long as the KING is not under attack, and the King will not "pass through" check... The king can not castle out of, or through check.. the Rook, does not matter.

    Litterally. I dis regarding that move. Black pawn moves to white Bishop. Takes out black pawn four. Queen meets to white Seven. Black pawn moves to White four takes out Queen. Small juice.

    Be7 stops the shenanigans. The vast majority of players nowdays try to pull you into the Fried Liver Attack. I know how to repel most of these whizbag unsound sacrifice openings. Im over 2000 and have played since age 5 in 1964. Look at what experts masters and IMs play. Solid openings . Ive had at least 100 opponents try that Italian game B+N attack. I know how to repel it, then I get the initiative because they will lose a tempo.

      I believe that opening happens if black plays c6 as their first move instead of e5. It's similar though that white develops the bishop to c4 on the second move.
