I love how every episode is MBT going "this is basically constructed quality, doug has no chance" and doug goes "we have some good cards I guess", and then doug wins
It will never stop being funny for me how good of a counter against Kashtira were the Ninja cards, and Konami released the structure deck just as Kashtira was released. Having a 80% win rate against a deck that was mostly URs with a structure deck was awesome. Rare Konami W.

It was perfect. Ninjas are fun af but the added bonus of being a thorn in the metas side was the cherry on top. Easily the most fun I’ve had in master duel since I ran paleo frogs and hippos

I think it was done on purpose. I think they tried it in the tcg too but ppl weren’t as willing to experiment and there’s no yellow glow to tell you what you can do with a deck that has unclear lines.
I love that Doug thought Getsuga was terrible when he was deckbuilding off screen, not considering the fact that there are multiple ways to cheat this guy out of the deck. free revive for two!

Its really slow because most of the ninja stuff summons in defense but its very strong
Armor ninjistu art rust mist could have just won him the game too if he put it in his deck. No monster would be able to even swing over a hanzo in this matchup.

Ninja is such a minimalist deck, you can find something to do even if you're only playing one of every good card. Though it also has so many cards that you can easily find filler to shove in to make up for the missing pieces for a half draft like this.

Galaxy Eyes cares a lot about names on board and you don't get Cipher Blade in the Galaxy Eyes structure, so I'm not surprised to see Ninja take it.
I was thinking more photon lord. A monster negate that also searches a card would’ve been really good.
Also titanic galaxy, but tbh lord is better in sealed type formats

I only played ninjas in duel links years ago, and pokemon abridged always popped into my head while playing it. Mainly koga saying "TO CONFUSE OUR ENEMIES" because most were negating and popping the wrong cards 😂
Ninja was the most fun structure deck after I purchased it, made me regret purchasing any others beforehand. It's not the best deck but its functional and has a decent gameplan. And having backrow based interaction is always helpful.
Yeah, just add in some Books/DDKCs and Nibs and you have a fully functioning deck. Nibiru is especially funny since it won't tribute set monsters, but you have Dancing Leaves to do that anyway for the ones that aren't stuck in the ground forever.
It is arguably the best structure. You can climb to master with 3 copies and the basic staple hand traps.
@@charlesr951you just run maxx c/anti maxx c for the hand traps right? So like 3 maxx c, 3 ash, 2 called by, 1 cross out and then 3x structure deck?
@@thiccbuddha-nachampionsque9820 Yeah, and you can play evenly matched if you want. One of the ninjas can pitch it for a special summon. Extra deck is generic too. Cross sheep, and then whatever else you have like knightmares, access code talker, IP/sp, bagooska. Pretty much whatever you can fit with 3 each of the ninja fusions and at least one copy of the double attacker xyz.
Ninja was fun, I remember this deck being an amazing match up against kashtrashta at the time. it’s auto win even for going second

Part of me wonders if MBT legitimately hates the Galaxy/Photon deck/community so much that he's willing to throw games with the deck just to see if he can get them mad--

They always draw perfectly, I’ve never ran into one that doesn’t have Galaxy Soldier + Jumper in hand, and yet always find a way to end on absolutely nothing despite their deck having easy access to a towers and OTK potential through just about everything.
It could be a funny vendetta vs ge players
But man he just doesn’t get how to play the deck which is fine it’s lines are a bit odd but it’s kinda crazy how bad he played it lol
@@naiko8412 I can say from my own experience playing the deck on ladder, that is entirely true, and it's mostly due to not remembering a summoning condition like starliege lord galaxian's 2 photon requirement, not remembering you're locked because of the various light locks, being locked out of cards like number's last hope because you extra deck summoned too much beforehand, or just simply picking the wrong search because half the deck searches the entire deck.

Doug as probably your only ninja player in the comment section, this was stressful to watch but you found a way to comeback through every misplay. This was great job dude. This the match I was most excited for.
Also this is probably the best matchup that Doug could have had. If he had to play against a link or fusion structure he’d have an uphill battle.
I play ninjas too. But the dragon maid duel was more stressful for me haha
@@Shadowbot074 yea ninja's is basically the only thing i play. whenever new cards come out I brainstorm how I would be able to force it into a ninja deck.

g1 should have held the sanctuary (as he said himself). This would let him either keep playing after joe by either normal summoning jumper and linking it off or linking off soldier, adding it back, and summoning it again by discarding jumper (jumper adds trance etc)
g2 he got a bit tunnel-visioned into getting 2 normal summons. It was probably better to go for blast dragon with vanisher. This gives targeting protection (turning off joe) and summons the gepd you added woth vanisher from hand. After that the hand was full of lvl 8 extenders for number 62 otk (solflare could have added back orbital too).
g3 was a brick, but if he did chain hyper to the knight effect he could have summoned gepd from hand which would let him link summon solflare and trigger jumper. It was a pretty bad hand though and might have lost anyways
Overall going 1st might have been a better choice because the galaxy hundred ripping 2 out of the extra deck probably invalidates doug's deck (2 becayse of blast dragon on hte opp's turn)

I run Photon Galaxy in Duel Links. Even I know to either have my Cipher Blade or Photon Blast out on the field immediately if I didn't get both PSOD and GEPD on the field together. Photon Blast would have solved *so* many issues here
Edit: Cipher Dragon is good security for getting Full Armour Photon, hence why I run both it and Cipher Blade. That way turn 1 I go Cipher - Cipher Blade so I can have a Full Armour Photon or an extra wall depending on how the opponent plays
He went from, "Stop yapping, chat; you don't know what you're talking about", to, "Wow this deck is bad" with no self awareness.
Next up is starter deck shuffle: a wheel with starting deck, power of the dragon, synchro of unity, link generation, emergence of the monarchs, being who sees the end of the world, gem knoghts resolution, roar of glad beasts, digital bug,and heir to shiranui style. You can open packs from the most prominent archetype that is in the deck

edit: he had full combo game 1 and game 2 scuffed it completely.
He also summoned in game 1 PHOTON JUMPER (WHY?!) and fumbled into going to Galaxy Eyes Full Armored Dragon, witout doing any of the other rank 4. and why is he playing the link? that thing is not needed into fullXYZ board. OMG he's killing me

Funny possible interaction at 41:20, Dancing Leaves targets a Ninja or face down on EITHER FIELD to tribute and summon from deck. So he can tribute the Yaguramaru that MBT stole, or any monster he equips with the equip spell (since the equip makes monsters honorary ninjas).
This is about what I expected from Galaxy-Eyes from someone with only a passing understanding of the deck.
The first mistake was assuming it’s an easy deck, which is simply not true.
Accellight is bad, but I don’t think I can fault him for it here. The problem with it, is that it turns off normal summons, in a deck that actively wants to normal summon twice each turn, however with those pulls he was never doing that consistently to begin with.
Considering he knew he was against Ninja, he should have 100% played Trident at 1. Yes trident is a gimmick card, however, the ability to push for lethal through defence position walls is incredibly important in this matchup.
I also would have definitely played a copy of cleric. With only one solflare you have basically no follow up.
I cannot fault him for gameplay, because it is a non-linear deck, that even people who think they know what they doing continually stuff up.
If you have not gone through the website you are not qualified to judge people playing this deck.
Galaxy-Eyes for even experienced players, Master Duel and Duel Links alike, is one of those decks that is *really* complex to master. As a Duel Links Photon Galaxy player, I've played the deck for ages despite the fact there's better options and even I can misplay at times or have to make some *really* tough decisions. But it's basically required you get Starliege Photon Blast Dragon out to protect your monsters and in place of some of the other Rank 8's running Cipher if you also run Cipher Blade is considered a decentish idea, and Accelight is such a rookie mistake to play, it hurts. You do not touch accelight. Accelight sucks. You run stuff like Eternal Galaxy and multiple copies of Expedition or Photon Stream of Destruction, and you run Cloudragon
That being said, I was literally screaming 'SUMMON PHOTON BLAST DRAGON NOT SOLFLARE FFS' in my head
I have only been playing galaxy eyes since the new MD structure, this was painful to watch.
For me the most painful part is that the deck is easy to learn(the basics, at minimum 1 really big beat stick per starter hand). But yes it is hard to master it to a point of full board of big beat sticks.
Again, I am new to the deck, I know that isn’t necessarily the full strategy but it works 80% of the time.

Getsuga is such a secret powerhouse. I used to play that card in constructed ninja back during its short stint of playability and an embarrassing amount past that point.

Glad i tuned into the series to see MBT get wrecked by a "hard" deck while using an "easy" deck. Look, if you know how to play a "hard" deck, it's basucally easy.

then activate trance for two level 4s
summoned
Summon the rank 4 blast dragon, which summons a galaxy eyes from hand and protects all monsters he controls with over 2000 attack
Used gepd and knight to summon a rank 8
This is why streamers don’t usually play this deck. It’s too much effort to learn how to play it effectively. Especially since it’s rogue tier at best. It’s too bad because it’s my favourite deck of all time 😢

As a ninja player, I was nervous for this episode, but Doug did really solid for just feeling his way through it.
The cylinder thing is where the Kashtira had put Tearlaments Reinoheart in the art of the Trap Card "Kashtira Preparations".

I dont want to downplay how well Doug played this episode because he really did super well with a very difficult deck but damn he really did draw Hanzo 4 consecutive turns

This game is very nostalgic for me. My brother and I would duel frequently, he had a Ninja deck and I had a Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon deck. Both half constructed so it also feels like saga. While i really like my deck, it definitely is very limited. Nice games I do wish this time MBT won lol
MBT saying "this is the worst deck ever" really comes down to 2 things.
1.: He had shitty a$$ pulls. Not a single Jumper or Soldier among them. Those are basically the best starters the deck could have. Or you know, Delta Wing, but it's in a different pack.
2.: He was playing a deck that really wants to have 3 copies of the entire structure deck for the Galaxy Hundred/Jumper/Soldier to come up often enough to warrant playing the archetype.

@@notanansi7628 VERY, since he could cheat at least 3 XYZ monsters with one making it possible for effect protection (Rank 4 SR Starliege) with Galaxy Photon Dragon. If the deck was at full power, pretty much you can get a board that would only die to Evenly Matched as 2k+ monster couldn't be targeted not destryoed by card effects if both rank 4s were on field.
he had essentially a way to protect his monsters but never played it in favor of far worse plays as photo sanctuary for the link monster and normal summon Galaxy yes by tributing his only face up Lvl 8 monster (9withhout counting the normal summon of Photon jumper)
I was mentally screaming 'SUMMON PHOTON BLAST DRAGON FOR FRICKS SAKE' so pretty damn badly

Joseph could have chained Hyper Galaxy to Galaxy Knight's summon because his attack reduces after summon. I didn't even know that was possible. This is what happens when you forsake click glowing button. Would've done nothing which is still more than what it did in episode.

One of the guys at my locals is a hardcore galaxy pet decker and gets so pissed off every week when he loses. The damn deck loses to every hand trap but he talks about how insanely cracked the deck is. His copium is worse than the blue eyes player lmfao.

If you click on the i for field info, then you can see if you have a normal summon left by the timer. Then you can click the arrow when you have a card selection window to view the field state

Edit: Yes Doug, the new Ninjas are completely crazy. If the deck is weak to getting stuff stranded Facedown, Ninjas are brutal to play against. Then you get to the Battle Ninja who just keeps getting guys out.
Edit Edit: Ya, Ninjas are shockingly consistent so long as you have 3 Hanzo, which Doug did. After that, you can just grab whatever you want. And honestly, Ninjas play a couple of random singletons anyway.
The structure never gave 3 copies. You just bought it three times.

Is it just me or does mbt seem dumb at moments like he was freaking out that Doug had all the cards in rotation when that’s the point of the whole deck to spam the field using duplication not to mention every card gets into more of the new cards

I don't play Galaxy Eyes but I think Solflare is just a really bad card.
Probably more so against the deck that keeps special summoning face downs in defense.
the card is good and is often a 1 of and sometimes a 2 of. lets you add cards back and is a disruption also can just make space for the board. the way mbt used it tho was horrible.

Its really good card when used right. Its an easy galaxy-eyes monster for the free summon of GE afterglow dragon too. The deck needs number 90 galexey eyes phonton lord to be viable as a deck though, and that doesnt come in the structure
I love how you really called out all the Galaxy players. Embarrasingly I'm a duel links Photon Galaxy player, so I was called out by it
Edit: Really should have been summoning Photon Blast Dragon early on, tbh. Prevents GEPD from getting destroyed and can retrieve it from banishment or grave
I was playing the ninja firewall lock, with dark simorgh, anti-spell and performapal rainbow magician. 10mins turn to not let the opponent play
