I'M FINALLY BACK!!! For those that have been wondering where I've been, I fell off of an electric skateboard and hurt myself pretty bad and wasn't able to film or use a fishing rod for ~5 weeks. I'm half an hour in, and you guys haven't started fishing yet 😂 This is my favorite challenge so far - arts and crafts with the boys, I love how you each approached your rod designs so differently.
Noah definitely had the best rod. I can't believe it broke! This one was a fun one. I like that you DIDN'T try do do your build under a time limit like some other channels do. It made for some better quality attempts. Still want to see you guys each pick one lure (1v1v1) but in three sizes. small, medium and large. Use the appropriate rods for each size lure. 2 fish per lure size. (Hula popper, Rapala floating / jerk bait, etc., soft plastic worm, craw bait, spinner bait, buzz bait, frog, swim bait)... so many options!
I love the hardware store employees who are clearly retired and just have a love of the trades. They're so wholesome and so helpful.
They're fantastic! Their whole attitude is, "Tell me you've never worked construction without telling me you've never worked construction."

Three piece rod with pvc, wood dowel, contact cement, duct tape, and screws don't forget your eyelets. Some assembly required

Why didn't you just wrap a piece of tape around the wood dowel instead of trying to shove tape into the PVC, it was pretty annoying to watch that

To hold a reel on my old rod I used hose clamps great challenge that was fun to watch

Get a wooden thick stick attach drill a hole on one end put a fiber pipe in it take a little hit of pvc heat it up and form it on the joint to reinforce it

After spending $150-$300 per rod to fish. And going with my ex’s drunk brother on a $30 ugly stick Walmart combo. And realizing we always catch the same fish and half the time he caught more. I stopped spending over $100 for rods.
Reels on the other hand get all the budget. $100 minimum.
