As a gun owning leftist, I get so tired of hearing liberals whine about gun owners. Populism is democracy. Get over it.
The US is only a "democracy" when they want to peddle a new stage of the Forever War - but when working people expect something back for their taxes and their service, we're told that "it's a republic, not a democracy!". It's schroedinger's "democracy".

Trump's "populist" view includes enforcing legal immigration, which is in fact the current law. The left seems to want to enforce law selectively. I.E. The protestors in Portland in 2020 that overtook and damaged a Federal courthouse were protesters whereas the same actions on Jan 6 was an insurrection. This was pointed out in the debate and Pelosi said that there was a difference although she couldn't illustrate any examples.

I have debated with friends that what we are seeing is not racism but classism. The success or failure of an individual is not tied to race as we have many blacks and whites that are both rich and poor. Coleman Hughes does a good job of deeper explanations.
I never got the feeling that there was an anti-LGBTQ sentiment generally. The objections were from having to treat them not similarly, but that they deserve special treatment, that others did not. That simply isn't fair, particularly when it infringes on other peoples' rights, such as forcing women to compete in sports with people that are men that identify as women. It simply isn't true; it isn't fair and that has been the objection to the ideology.

When I think of progressive, I think of removing boundaries, even if unsafe and harmful (ie legalize illicit drugs and transitioning children), denying consequences, and “canceling” and destroying dissent/opposition.

Populism is democracy. It is in the name. To win a democratic vote, you need popular support.
As for her complaining that people will not accept her policies because of their beliefs, good on them for having beliefs that are not disposable. That says alot about Pelosi's belief structure.
