- The Slaws are on their late summer holiday in France in their Hobby Motorhome Helga with their two Lhasa Apso dogs Billy and Jessie.
They travel on the péage and it costs a fortune!
Finally arriving in Annecy at Le Solitaire du Lac where they have some much needed R&R.

Hi guys, sorry to hear that Mr Slaw has had a heart problem I hope he is feeling better after his operation. I had triple bypass, repaired heart valve, 2 days later a cardiac arrest double pacemakers then a stent. Told it was terminal. Was given 5to6 years. 6 years later still here watching you guys. Had to stop all meat but soon used to that feel much better for it😂😂unfortunately no alcohol but that’s ok. Mr Slaw is a young bloke and gets looked after very well by mrs Slaw a very lucky man indeed. Love the videos keep them coming and good luck mate.😂😂
Jon 🇦🇺😂🙏👋
Thank you Jon 🙏 Really pleased you’re able to come either us on our adventures 🚍☀️
JTLYK - I went on my first European trip. I took your advice and put on my brave trousers (other garments are available) and hopped over. Dunkerque and Cap Gris Nez. Small steps but as T.E.Lawrence said - " it's going to be fun! " TY and BW for the inspiration!! On y va!!! XX.R.
Aww! That’s fab Roland! Well done you ❤️ So many great adventures ahead 🚍☀️
Yep yep and tks.XXX.R.@@TheSlawsAdventures
Love watching your videos thanks for sharing
Thank you! 🚍☀️
You guys are amazing funny and love your videos also loved your Barmouth video been there and had amazing holidays❤❤
Thanks Mike! It’s just us on holiday 🤣
Our next adventure will hopefully be to this area. Will be watching with notepad in hand. Not our ideal type of pitch .. think the windbreak would definitely have been put to good use. 😆. but area looks lovely. Just returned from Northern Spain .. cheaper toll roads .. some free .. but long crossing not ideal and expensive for short trips. Hope you did get to chill and relax but guess there’s going to be a long bike ride to come. 🚴🏻♀️ 🚴🏻♂️ 😎😎
Annecy is a must to visit! We agree, the campsite was not ‘our thing’ either. Very small pitches with no boundaries, but we would have felt rude putting the windbreak up. We just cracked on 🤣
That was so funny, attacked by a sausage, then Mrs slaw getting it in the bum, Mrs slaw you have to keep off those toll roads or wear steel knickers you must have problems sitting by now ❤❤😂😂😂 some lovely drone shots
🤣 I found it highly hilarious when Slaw got shot by the sausage! You couldn’t write our life 🤪
Do a journal or a diary? Might be published! : - ) XX.R. @@TheSlawsAdventures
Beautiful part of the world
❤️
Guys, you just get better and better. You’re so down to earth it feels like we are with you on each vlog. On y va ✊❤️🥂
Thank you! That’s exactly what we want to achieve. You are all our friends on our adventures with us 🚍☀️
great video, well done on that bin, campsite looks gorgeous 😍😍, loving the banta 🤣 and he didn't have his mouth full when he spoke 😉😉 ps put that polish down
Thanks Tony! I desperately tried to get him to relax, but he’s a proper fidget 🤣
Gaffa tape , wink wink
Lol we call em Magic roundabouts 🙂
🤣
Another fun Blog thanks Annency looks great we were heading there last May with our dog but the weather forecast was awful so we ended up in the Vendee it was amazing,, we did five weeks not a single Toll😀
Thank you! We were on Île de Ré in May. The weather was superb wasn’t it? The tolls were a must on this trip as we only had 11 days and we were desperate to get to the sunshine ☀️
@@TheSlawsAdventures that's a pity you didn't have more time ,we love your you tube blogs ...have fun 👋☀️🤞
Love your vlogs and love France like you as well. you 2 are so funny together. Love Annecy we were there end June/July for 2 weeks stayed on Lac Bleu camping at Doussard bottom end of lake absolutely stunning area. We did toll motorway both ways and cost me £240 altogether towing a caravan but worth it. So much to see and visit in area and having a car can explore further. Lovely up in the mountains overlooking where paraglides take off my daughter did that and never stop talking about it since and we did Mont Blanc up the cable car fantastic. Will be back next year. Looking forward to your next video too.
It’s so beautiful! We took a week to drive back to Calais and visited some lovely places ❤️
I was really impressed with the cheap rose this time too! I'm not normally a rose drinker but it's much drier in that area (much more like white than the rose you get in the UK which is really sweet - well in my opinion). Slaw needs to give John some lessons in cleaning the van, he's never tried and it's always me that has to get sweaty keeping it clean. He lives an easy life, being driven around Europe, his only job is to go collect the croissants and pay the tolls ;-)
Thanks Jo! Yes, I much prefer French Rosé to the sickly cough medicine types. Slaw is quite anal about keeping Helga clean 🤣
Another cracking vlog both.
We are tight and don't do tolls😊
You both make us laugh 😂xx
Thanks you two! We don’t usually use all tolls, but we were desperate to get to the sunshine ☀️
We were in Annecy 2 weeks ago and our sat nav made us go wrong at exactly the same junction as yours did 🤦♀️ Great Vlog guys!!
Oh! It was so stressful! My maps aren’t so detailed as to show a junction like that 😢
Great vlog as usual. Nice to see you had a great stay in Annecy, we absolutely love it there, although it is a nightmare to drive in from the peage. Lovely little site too.
Thank you! 🚍☀️
Watching your banter and adventures always makes me smile - looking forward to the next video 👍😀😂
Thank you! 🚍☀️
Squirty sausage and musical cows, never a dull moment with you two. Oh I’d kill for some of that sunshine right now. Good to see you relaxing 😎 x
Thanks Sue! We definitely needed the relaxation after the Festivals. I found Slaw’s mishap hilarious 🤣
Love watching your vlogs. The last two summers my husband, teenage kids, and myself travel from Donegal in Ireland to Annecy with our caravan. We didn’t take our dog because so many beaches aren’t dog friendly . How did you find it with your dogs in annecy? Would love to take ours with us next summer. Had to laugh at your sat nav. Ours did the exact same.. not very nice when your towing a caravan !
Oh! That road junction was sooooo stressful 😱 Donegal was one of our favourite places when we visited Ireland last year! You lucky people ❤️ The campsite we stayed on allowed dogs on the beach (it was just out of season) and the public beach just along the way had lots of dogs on. I think if you go in high season it would be a problem. 🚍☀️
Wow that was expensive, and i have done the same with cutting into a sausage, yep it is a suprise looks like your enjoying your travels, the campsite your on looks very busy take care and enjoy xx
Thanks Linda! It was a lovely holiday. Just what we needed after the madness of the festivals. Hope you’re keeping well xx
Grear Vlog guys, we try to avoid the toll roads a few months ago drove from Caen to Benidorm cost us a bleedin fortune😊......why dont you invest in a sat nav we have a great one especially for motorhomes much easier than maps 😊...
Thank you! The tolls were a must on this trip as we only had 11 days and we were desperate to get to the sunshine. Helga has a really good Blaupunkt media system with a satnav, but as you’ll have seen from our vlogs, Mrs Slaw is an avid map reader 👍🏻
🥰
Same campsite we stayed at in June! Makes me want to go back 😅 looking forward to your next video ❤
It was lovely! It’s been a good few years since we’ve been and we weren’t disappointed 🚍☀️
yet another entertaining, informative and cracking Vlog, no silly click bait just honest content. Our fav UK you tubers. Keep em coming. 👌
Thank you! 🚍☀️
Try to avoid peage, when we do, we have a emovis tag ,which works great ,the roads in France are so much better than UK, enjoy
We only had 11 days for the trip and we were desperate to get to the sun ☀️ so the tolls were a must on this trip. We’ve considered a tag, but funnily enough Slaw won’t buy one 🤪
So easy with a tag but perhaps his mind wanders when you lean out
Sorry to laugh but Slaw has a very squirty sausage there😂 expensive tolls but they got you to your destination a lot quicker👍 you found the sun and you both deserve a good rest after your 2 festival weekends. Slaw certainly redeemed himself by doing a Blue Peter sketch fixing the bin....definitely deserves a BP badge😂 hugs to the stars of the show....and excuse you jessie🙈 I have to mention Slaw being in trouble again for talking with his mouth full😂...I'll shut up now! ❤
Thank you Peta! Your support is greatly appreciated ❤️
Hi guys great vlog looks amazing where your staying nice and peaceful apart from the noisy cows lol😂, looked a good repair to the bin a blue Peter badge is deserved, i think we've all had that stressful time abroad trying to find a Campsite but you made it so have a relaxing time and the doggies look forward to your next vlog take care the gowerz Portsmouth xx
Thanks Mark! Slaw did redeem himself after breaking the bin 🤣 It’s holding well 👍🏻
Hi both, love watching your travels. Could you recommend a book/app with aires/sites in France. We are going next year for the 80th D Day memorials. Been before in a car, 1st time in a motorhome. Keep doing the filming 😊 Jules
Hi Jules, we tend to only use an app these days. We find Searchforsites the best. It even has vets on for the wormer for coming home 👍🏻 I recommend booking asap for the commemorations. Our friends have just spent ages finding a campsite with availability for next June!
Thank you ❤
Do a book series - kindle podcast or paper - Take The Slaw Road. xx.R. Just a thought!! XX,R.
That’s a great idea! Mrs Slaw does love to write, but with working full time still, it’s on the back burner for now ❤️
Journals and notes in prep tho...? xx.r.@@TheSlawsAdventures
Hi slaws, great vlog again and informative but can I ask a couple of questions please, firstly what make are your camping loungers and Simon when you were cleaning Helga did use any products?
Thanks Kevin! Our chairs are Kampa Firenze and yes, Slaw uses Williams waterless wash and wax 👍🏻
@@TheSlawsAdventures thank you for replying and looking forward to the next episode of Slaws adventures 😀
Every toll road I have travelled in France has been money well spent.
We weren’t complaining really. Okay, Slaw was 🤣 We got there so much quicker though. It took us a week to come back 🚍☀️
HIT THAT LIKE BUTTON to support the SLAWS!
Thank you! ❤️
And relax....!
Is it my or do continental campsites look quite crowded?
We sure needed that R&R! Yes, we had a very small pitch with no fencing or hedge between us and the family in the tent next door 🤣
And we brits complain about the road tax in this country 🙈 at least the roads are in better condition. 🤞
The French roads are a dream to drive on! 🥰
Control your sausage Simon.
🤣 Can’t believe we caught it on camera! I found his mishap hilarious!
That looks dreadful pitch . 🥵.
It’s one of the worst we’ve been on, but the location of the site made up for it 👍🏻
It is a good idea to check polarity, but I think you made a mistake if you check the polarity inside the van, you surely need to check it at the lead because if you rely on the Van, then the damage is already done to the consumer box in the van I have seen this happen. It happened on a campsite to a Carthago fried the boards inside because there was too much voltage, so when in France or Spain, I will check with the multimeter plug lead in, I’ve made up a plug adapter to check polarity
Never had a problem and had reverse polarity a few times and used the polarity reverse lead.
