Tail and spot pattern wrong for pink salmon. Head coloration andtail shape consistent with Oncorhynchus Nerka (sockeye salmon).
You should have just kept that sockeye. It absolutely died and did not spawn after being out of the water for 2-3 minutes after the fight.
