As a long time Priest fan, I am amazed how excellent the new album is. The overall album has a fire and passion I've haven't heard from anyone in rock in decades. People are talking about this band because it is very rare that older artists deliver an album this good. Judas Priest are truly Metal Gods.

Turbo was thier worst Ram It Down wasn't much better but was better...Angel Of Retribution was better than Turbo and Ram It Down... Redeemer of souls was better than Angel Of Retribution Firepower was better than Redeemer Of Souls and Invincible Shield is better than Firepower...Invincible Shield is the best Judas Priest album since 1984's Defenders Of The Faith I STRONGLY believe this

I’ve been enjoying this album and have streamed it on Spotify quite a bit since release day. I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the deluxe CD version from Amazon today, along with the new Bruce Dickinson and Ministry albums.
I really like this album. And I don't need those additional tracks,11 tracks is enough. And the way the album ends,it is like they close their incredible journey with it. I am getting a bit sentimental here but I can't help it. It may be their last album,we don't know,right?

Amazing album. I'm not really high on Sons of Thunder but the rest is fabulous. Trial by Fire followed by Escape from Reality is the best song sequence on the album.
I definitely did not watch your video before I did my one this afternoon. Just watching it now, I think we are the same on what songs we like the least.... the two you said are I think they two I would say as well and yes, I also detected an Ozzy vibe on that track.... which I forget the title already, lol. But I'm exactly the same.... I don't dislike any of them.... It's a solid album and I really enjoy it a lot! And it's not corney at all.... music has meaning and bands we grew up with we hold close to our hearts as it was a different world in those days.... todays kids just don't get the same experience musically Darcy... the record player or hi-fi system was a standard piece of furniture in our homes just like the TV in our day. You speak from the heart and that's what I like. 🤘🤘
I spoke very highly of Crown Of Horns in my latest video and think the short solo is brilliant. It actually gives me the chills when I hear it. The weakest track for me is the bonus track The Lodger. Such a banger of an album. Love your review and thoughts mate😀🤘
Fantastic album. Title song is my favorite because of the guitar playing. Rob Halford is fenomenal on this album. Musicians are great but I must say Richie Faulker is getting better and better. This album surely will be in my top ten this year.

Hello Mr. Darcy, I am glad you're back with a brand new review. If my 2 cents is worth anything here we go. First of all it is necessary to say I was afraid this album could not match Firepower's excellence and exactly like you said I was absolutely caught off guard in a very positive as well. Right now this may be their best post-reunion album and one of the best metal albums of 2024 by far. Everything is spot on here starting from songwriting that is stunning. No childish songs kinda Flamethrower or even Necromancer in sight. I still remember the way my father, an Iron Maiden fan, started rolling his eyes and covering his face when he heard those lyrics back in 2018. Another huge piece of the Invincible Shield's success represent the speed and Richie's solos. These basic elements of heavy metal music were somehow absent on Firepower. Invincible Shield's predecessor is a mid-paced monster, but speed is definitely an integral part of this genre. Without any speed sounds the whole album generic. Nearly all my Firepower-related complaints have been fixed here on IS. Halfords vocals sound even better than 6 yrs ago. Ian's bass guitar got more space to shine and is much more audible and recognizable in the mix. You may call me a cry baby and you are right, but the only thing that slightly bothered me at first was the predictable album cover art and the name of the album. It has been long 6 years since the release date of Firepower and I guess we JP fans deserved better, but as I said this is only a minor mistake to me. Only the music counts. In this respect Firepower possesses a much better album cover art, but that's all. In the end let me sum things up. Invincible Shield definitely exceeds all my expectations towards their 19th album I had. Sitting here in 2024 with a brand new Judas Priest album in my hand I still can't believe my ears. 9,5/10 pts.

As someone who first heard Judas Priest when I was 12 in my friends older bothers bedroom smoking weed and blasting Screaming For Vengeance, Invincible Shield has a great nostalgia vibe for me. I can hear nods to older albums all through out, while still maintaining the more modern post Painklller intensity. Even though he is the Metal God, I was still happy to see at 72 years old Rob's amazing vocal performances throughout. My favorite since Painkiller. Painkiller always stands as their "statement" album in terms of answering if could they still be heavy or relevant or could Rob still hit the notes. All these years later, Invincible Shield answers those same questions. 4.5/5.0 for me.
Haven't heard it yet, but I'm definitely going to listen to it soon. Started listening to Priest in 86. Always liked them, but my opinion has definitely improved over the last few years.
Such a killer release! The Riffs, the Voice, the production all top drawer! Been listening to it daily now for days! Even got me relistening to Firepower too. New Saxon is also steller! Cheers man

Great album. I think I would put this at #5 all time in my Judas Priest discography ranking. Those first 3 tracks are really bad ass. I really don't like Crown of Horns or Giants in the Sky and the chorus to "As God is my Witness" really bothers me (too power metal for my taste-but the verses are fine). Everything else on the album is fantastic, though. And, I like 2 of the 3 bonus tracks. Very impressive album for men in their 60's and 70's.

Great thoughts on the new Priest album mate 🤘you and a few others have given it some good praise. I picked up Firepower and really dig it so it’s definitely on my list to grab.
Cant stop playing the CD. Its only March and i think i may have my album of the year. Not one skip. Rob sounds incredible. And Richie is an amazing guitarist. Fave song is As God is my Witness. Love that the album hits on so many Priest eras.
Pretty good album. Panic Attack, The Serpent And The King, Title Track, Gates Of Hell, and Sons Of Thunder are some of my favorites. I have the target CD that comes with the bonus tracks.
I have the deluxe cd on the way, you can never have too much Priest! What’s the next big release you’re looking forward to in 2024? Thanks as always MJ 🤘

I can honestly say that the first 2 singles had me nervous for this album as they didn't really grab me at first. However, I can easily say that this album tops Firepower for me, which I really didn't think they'd be able to do. But I'm glad I was wrong. 2 strong albums from Priest and Saxon so far. I think it’s their best album! Funny, but from my first listen to the whole album I initially thought Gates of Hell was my least favorite track. I love Devil in Disguise! Serpent is probably my favorite track and is a candidate for the best Priest song ever!

Incredible álbum. Priest is💀👑💀🤘👍💯🎸 eternal ...forever. All the members and the production play a wonderful role in this album. They are all in very good shape in the studio, even with more than 50 years of experience. I think we have judas for a while. If there are no setbacks, the 20th studio album may arrive in the future, and thus close an extraordinary career for my favorite band. I hope that their time and health continue for that, my desire. thanks for the video.

I was skeptical from the first few songs released from this album, but the stuff they held back from until the release? This album instantly ranks in my top 10 Priest albums.
I started with SFV and this is my...........fifth new purchase. As I stopped buying their new releases after "Turbo". 😬I have gone back and purchased "Painkiller" and AOR, of course. So, this is my second in a row and, after the singles released, I am very impressed. I didn't not like "Panic Attack" at first (it's grown on me) and I'm still not a fan of "Crown of Horns". That being said, it's a rockin' album and it's a great followup to "Firepower". I wouldn't put it above FP cuz I think there's a couple of clunkers, but I'd still give it 8.5/10.

I totally agree with the vocals on Escape from Reality. I had to double check to make sure that Ozzy wasn’t a guest vocalist. Trial by Fire is actually my favorite song on the album. It’s still a little early to say but this may be my favorite Priest album since the reunion. It totally exceeded my expectations.

Invincible Shield is Firepower part 2. My 4 favourite tracks on Invincible Shield are better than my 4 favourite tracks on Firepower. However the rest of the ten tracks on Firepower are a bit stronger then the ten on Invincible Shield.
I don’t know anything for a fact, but to my ear I can hear Glenn on the album, especially the small solos in the mid part of As God Is My Witness. But to be completely honest, we all know that Richie is carrying the bulk of the load & that’s ok! Thanks for watching 🛡️ Cheers from Canada

its ok. my issue with it is there isnt much variation of song. all the songs are dense guitars and rolling drums on pretty much every song. think of a Priest album like Defenders...or any from back in the day.... you had free wheel burning...and then you had Love bites...from there you had heavy duty......3 songs, same album...3 incredibly different song styles. here its just all steady guitars droning all thru every track played pretty much the same way.
Just curious if you’ve ever done a review, and not liked the album? Or is it normally all positive when you spend $ on a new album? Btw, I thought firepower and invincible are both very average, compared to the rest of the Priest catalog.
This is the first year that I’ve really done single album reviews dedicated to it’s own video. Yes they are generally bands that I’ve been following for years & know at least I’ll “like” but not necessarily “love”. So to answer your question it’s not always gonna be sunshine and roses 😂 I’m already a little sceptical on the new Accept single, we will see how that one goes when it comes out! As someone who first heard Judas Priest when I was 12 in my friends older bothers bedroom smoking weed and blasting Screaming For Vengeance, Invincible Shield has a great nostalgia vibe for me. I can hear nods to older albums all through out, while still maintaining the more modern post Painklller intensity. Even though he is the Metal God, I was still happy to see at 72 years old Rob's amazing vocal performances throughout. My favorite since Painkiller. Painkiller always stands as their "statement" album in terms of answering if could they still be heavy or relevant or could Rob still hit the notes. All these years later, Invincible Shield answers those same questions. 4.5/5.0 for me.
Haven't heard it yet, but I'm definitely going to listen to it soon. Started listening to Priest in 86. Always liked them, but my opinion has definitely improved over the last few years.
Such a killer release! The Riffs, the Voice, the production all top drawer! Been listening to it daily now for days! Even got me relistening to Firepower too. New Saxon is also steller! Cheers man

Great album. I think I would put this at #5 all time in my Judas Priest discography ranking. Those first 3 tracks are really bad ass.
I really don't like Crown of Horns or Giants in the Sky and the chorus to "As God is my Witness" really bothers me (too power metal for my taste-but the verses are fine). Everything else on the album is fantastic, though. And, I like 2 of the 3 bonus tracks. Very impressive album for men in their 60's and 70's.

Cant stop playing the CD. Its only March and i think i may have my album of the year. Not one skip. Rob sounds incredible. And Richie is an amazing guitarist. Fave song is As God is my Witness. Love that the album hits on so many Priest eras.

Pretty good album. Panic Attack, The Serpent And The King, Title Track, Gates Of Hell, and Sons Of Thunder are some of my favorites. I have the target CD that comes with the bonus tracks.

Good to hear your thoughts Darcy. It's a very strong album and a good follow up to Firepower. It does very much sound like it could be from that mid to late 80s era and the band, especially Rob are in great form.

I can honestly say that the first 2 singles had me nervous for this album as they didn't really grab me at first.
However, I can easily say that this album tops Firepower for me, which I really didn't think they'd be able to do. But I'm glad I was wrong.
2 strong albums from Priest and Saxon so far. Hopefully Accept can keep up with them.

I think it’s their best album! Funny, but from my first listen to the whole album I initially thought Gates of Hell was my least favorite track. I love Devil in Disguise! Serpent is probably my favorite track and is a candidate for the best Priest song ever!

All the members and the production play a wonderful role in this album. They are all in very good shape in the studio, even with more than 50 years of experience. I think we have judas for a while. If there are no setbacks, the 20th studio album may arrive in the future, and thus close an extraordinary career for my favorite band. I hope that their time and health continue for that, my desire. thanks for the video.

I started with SFV and this is my...........fifth new purchase. As I stopped buying their new releases after "Turbo". 😬I have gone back and purchased "Painkiller" and AOR, of course. So, this is my second in a row and, after the singles released, I am very impressed. I didn't not like "Panic Attack" at first (it's grown on me) and I'm still not a fan of "Crown of Horns". That being said, it's a rockin' album and it's a great followup to "Firepower". I wouldn't put it above FP cuz I think there's a couple of clunkers, but I'd still give it 8.5/10.

The new Judas Priest is awesome! I feel that Judas Priest is on a roll with solid albums. Their previous two releases Redeemer of Souls and Firepower were great. Invincible Shield might actually top those two! Great review overall Darcy! 🤘🤘

I totally agree with the vocals on Escape from Reality. I had to double check to make sure that Ozzy wasn’t a guest vocalist. Trial by Fire is actually my favorite song on the album. It’s still a little early to say but this may be my favorite Priest album since the reunion. It totally exceeded my expectations.
Ok good glad I wasn’t the only one hearing Ozzy lol. I still need more time to see where it lands in their discography, but overall I couldn’t be happier. Thanks as always brother 🛡️ Stay Invincible

Invincible Shield is Firepower part 2. My 4 favourite tracks on Invincible Shield are better than my 4 favourite tracks on Firepower. However the rest of the ten tracks on Firepower are a bit stronger then the ten on Invincible Shield.

its ok. my issue with it is there isnt much variation of song. all the songs are dense guitars and rolling drums on pretty much every song. think of a Priest album like Defenders...or any from back in the day.... you had free wheel burning...and then you had Love bites...from there you had heavy duty......3 songs, same album...3 incredibly different song styles. here its just all steady guitars droning all thru every track played pretty much the same way.
Just curious if you’ve ever done a review, and not liked the album? Or is it normally all positive when you spend $ on a new album? Btw, I thought firepower and invincible are both very average, compared to the rest of the Priest catalog.
This is the first year that I’ve really done single album reviews dedicated to it’s own video. Yes they are generally bands that I’ve been following for years & know at least I’ll “like” but not necessarily “love”. So to answer your question it’s not always gonna be sunshine and roses 😂 I’m already a little sceptical on the new Accept single, we will see how that one goes when it comes out! Good album but the vinyl is TOO expensive.
The pre-order on Amazon was $47 Canadian, I didn’t think that was outrageous! But you’re right because I’ve seen a lot of much higher prices 🤑
Its certainly a banger and even though in my video i had some slightly negative things to say i was being picky extremely picky in the interests of balance. Something that this video sadly lacks 😂 on joking....well no that cover blows!
