    Whoops. I just bought a 460ah. We do use our trailer without shore power the majority of the time and lots of winter camping at the ski resorts. Probably could have been just fine with the 300ah. Great test vid!

    It's nice to see that it could run the fridge, especially since 12V refrigeration is starting to become the standard. However, it would also be nice to see how it holds up with the furnace running. Get an idea of how much juice the igniter and fan use and how much the run time is impacted.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  Před 7 měsíci +1

      That’s a good point. The test would be different for most depending the size and type of 12V batteries used in the RV and temperatures outside. The batteries would need to drop in voltage over time requiring the power station to run the converter to recharge the battery. For our testing environment we have 300 amps of lithium batteries and I suspect the residential refrigerator would use most of the power before the battery is depleted. Different story for those who have propane refrigerators. It’s difficult to estimate without knowing the battery and charger capacities.

      No issue. Battery BMS discharge amperage is the lowest of batteries tested so far. No issues with overall performance. LiTime has a better BMS and a better price. I wanted evaluate the Epoch batteries since is was a US based, it is heated, and has Bluetooth.

    Great video I was looking at getting this battery or the 460 AH that they sell here. I had a couple of questions here. 1. You guys are not full time what do you do with your lithium battery in the winter when you camper is winterized? Right now I have two group 27 batteries and a Onan 4000 watt generator, would this battery also be able to start my internal generator? I also have 600 watts of Solar on my roof.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  Před 7 měsíci

      Thanks. The battery has low temperature disconnect and built in heaters. Shouldn’t be any issue with the low temps. I can’t answer the generator question not knowing the wiring scheme of the RV and if the RV has house batteries and gen starter batteries. As far as crank amperage of the battery, it has 300A discharge capacity, but better answered by the Epoch tech contact email.

    Great review on what looks like an excellent product. As I understand, I could use this to replace two lead acid batteries as long as my converter/charger meets the minimum charging volts. I read different minimums on the internet for Lithium and am trying to see how I determine if my charger meets the requirements. When my batteries are charging my voltage shows 13.8. I have a Winnebago Gas powered class A.

    Curious if you have received the owner's manuals yet? Also, you stated the BMS cuts off at 10 volts. What limited information I can find on these batteries they state not to let it run below 10% SOC. Does the BMW shut the battery down at 10%? I believe you stated the shunt would stop discharge at 10%, does that mean the inverter will cut off at that value?

    thank you for doing this testing. Being a new RV'er, figuring out how much a battery can take is tough. This particular battery meets our needs for boondocking as we are not full-time RV'ers and only have a 30ft toy hauler to power up. Having a generator, 400W solar, AND now a 300ah LifePO? We will definitely be ok on our power needs for our use case. Thank you again!

    I love this battery but my app is buggy. If i close the app or switch to another app, it looses connection with the battery and wont reconnect to it via the app until i kill the app in the background and re-start it. Also, the extra features on my app dont line upp correctly on my small iphone screen. And to make it worse, the shows the oldest data first which means you have to scroll for a long time to see the current data. Pretty much makes it useless. I hope they sort it out sometime soon. I guess the good thing is the SOC and relevant data appears to be accurate and is nicely presented.

      @@iLoveRVlife iphone 12 mini. I've re-installed the app and it still does this. All my Victron bluetooth devices also disconnect when i switch apps but they re-connect seamlessly when i pull up those apps again. I have other bluetooth devices that work perfectly as well so its just the E-Poch app. Its not the end of the world though. The Victron BMV gives me all the same info AND the app does appear to be very accurate as far as i can tell for the important stuff. I guess its more annoying right now because the battery is new to me and im constantly trying to access the data through the app. As time goes on I will use it maybe only weekly to double check the Victron data so not a huge issue.

    Jerry, great video. I have a question for you. Just your opinion. The battery charger that you used to get the Epoch up to 100% needs 120v to start. Can that charger be plugged into the inverter or would that be counter productive ?

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  Před 7 měsíci

      That would be counter productive. It takes more DC watts to make AC watts with the inverter. I may have other ideas. What's the application?

      My converter is not compatible to charge the EnJoybot 12v 200AH battery with 200BMC. I don't do a lot of dry camping but some. My solar is only 315 watts which will help so my concern is getting it charged 100% @@iLoveRVlife

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  Před 7 měsíci

      If your main battery is fully charged, you can connect the solar charger to the XT60 port on the power station. It can handle a charging input up to 650 watts, a max 70 volts and no more than 18 amps. Could create a jumper between charger and power station. You would need to disconnect the camper battery from the charger while this is going on.

    Did you have to beef up your wiring onboard to support the 300 AH battery?

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I didn't have too, but I increased. The Montana came with short 2 gauge cables from the lead acid batteries to the main power buss. My amperage used in the Montana wasn't going to increase, but if I were to get a larger inverter in the future and since I was moving the batteries from the front storage bay to the heated storage area, I needed longer cables. I increased to 3/0 cables.
