- I spent a couple of days visiting Hunterston Castle which holds the Wallace Oak - the tree where William Wallace was shackled before being taken to England and executed.
I was delighted to be given the honour of interviewing Madam Pauline Hunter of Hunterston, Clan Chief of Clan Hunter, and to be given a tour around the castle. During the visit, I was permitted to carry out a flight with a DJI mini 2 around the Castle and the walled garden. If Your Name Is Hunter You MUST Watch This Video!

Excellent Interview Robert! this is definitely the direction you should be going in, I intimated this kind of move for you when we had a discussion a good while ago as you are a very warm and likeable fella with a bit of chat and good humor about you and I can still see you being successful in this type of endeavor. Good on you m8!
I really enjoyed this interview. Made the questions up on the spot and the decision to grab the mace was completely spur of the moment.
Definitely somewhere I would love to end up. Back home ❤️
Enjoyed this! Thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fabulous! Great video!
Thanks so much!
Interesting video Robert! I am a David Hunter, my late father was John Hunter, if ever I’m in that area I will pay a visit! 👍👍
You might be a clan member!
@@WindsweptRobert Aye could be Robert! Quite a few years ago I visited Edinburgh Castle and I seem to remember a Scottish soldier statue in the entrance and I seem to remember his name was Hunter! great video Robert!
Greetings from the United States! I hope to someday visit this place and do some genealogical research as well. Thanks for the video!
My pleasure!
A wonderful video Robert, professionally done. Loved the synthesis of ground & arial footage, historical information via interview, promo and the sheer splendour of the castle. For those who are interested in or new to video editing and interviewing skills, there is a lot to be learnt from this video.
Thanks very much, i really appreciate that. I'm just an amateur, but to have comments saying that the wee video interview looks professional is a great compliment :)
@@WindsweptRobertnothing amateur about that video, there's many a pro could learn from this video...
Interesting video, thank you! 👍
My pleasure :)
Great video Robert , and Very professional i must say ...
Thank you very much :)
Nice video Robert 😂😂😂 Very interesting 👌 🎉
Glad you enjoyed it :)
A very interesting video Robert and may I say a lovely interview with both of you looking so comfortable throughout..👏👏☘
Thanks very much, JJ. She’s very down to earth, despite her lofty station :)
💚
this was an absolute treasure. love history and this was a great peek into yours, per say. I'm born in Germany, been back many times since the age of 5 and although i love Oz, it doesn't have the history dating back like europe does.. ( notwithstanding indigenious occupants of course) cheers,
frank from down under, formerly Germany
Glad you enjoyed it :)
That was a great interview Robert, very interesting stuff.
Thank you :)
Nice presenting! I like these. 👍
You and about 5 others! Actually, I like these videos too and so I think I will continue to make more :)
Cracking video Robert, you're a natural at this. Looking forward to many more. Was holding my breath when you put the Mace back though, thought it was going to fall
Those vicious looking jaggy points kept it secure against the Castle wall ;)
Very interesting and enlightening video Robert. So much to take in but you and Madam Pauline made it easy to assimilate. The sound and video production was superb. Thank you.
Thanks, Peter. It was a great weekend and the Wee Yin is still buzzing over the tour around the battlements of the Castle!
Great video, Robert!!! It seems you were bestowed a high honor with the interview, tour and special permission to fly!!! Congrats!!!
I was! 😁
Great video again Robert 👏👏 .... very informative 👍🙂
Thanks 👍
Cheers for that Windy Bob, enjoyed it. That John Hunter must have been 4 foot tall...by the looks of his suit of armour there in the corner of the room...
That’s just camera perspective. The suit actually stood about 4 inches taller than me!
@@WindsweptRobert I jest.... 🍻
Pun intended 🎶
Brilliant interview Robert. Fantastic looking castle. Is there no any wee ghost stories from there 👻. Would be great to investigate but highly doubt that would be allowed.
I wish, but nae ghostly goings-on in the castle :(
Another interesting video Robert 👍 I wouldn’t mind an accurate history lesson from the Scottish perspective. Perhaps a series of video’s, recounting the most important events in Scottish history. Hollywood change historical facts to suit a dramatic film which is so annoying. 👍
Good idea - I'll have a think on it :)
Where’s Lady Hunter’s accent from ? It no fi roond here. 😉😉😉😉
It's an accent she developed at her school. She's Scottish through and through .
Ahh, glad to ken. I had to move south of the border in 1966, with my parents. Had to learn the local lingo rather quickly, as the local yobs would single me out because of my Scottish accent. So I suppose I’m sort of bilingual in a way. Often resorting to my hame accent, when speaking to fellow Scots. 😉😉@@WindsweptRobert
With out wishing to start an argument I have to wonder how many people know Wallace's real history compared to what they have taken away from Mel Gibson's film, just saying 🙂
Mel’s always a good call for a thumbnail ;)
Great video
Thank you 😁
