Wacken Line-Up is not nearly completed! Its the biggest Heavy Metal Festival in the World and its being held in a super small village, which makes it so much fun. Every year it is being sold out in minutes and they even have a beer pipeline. You have to come!!
Wait they’ve never done Wacken have they? Jesus - surely that’s an obvious one and could be a short road trip as well.
its no where near the biggest. Hellfest and Download both bigger.
@@dancz6342 A cursory Google says that 2022 attendance was about the same at Wacken and Download, with Hellfest trailing by at least 10k bums on seats. Dunno how exact that is though. Not a big deal, but I would say Wacken is definitely more of a metal festival than Download, which seems to feature a lot more of that dad rock stuff these days.

@@insertgenericusernamehere2402 Ah yeah tbf if you add up multiple events you will tend to end up with a larger number. For example Glasto+Woodstock 99+Fyre Fest+Bourton Village Fete is larger than Download.
Loved the bit about Tomorrowland, you guys should check it out more in depth. Definitely not your usual style of music but it’s like Disneyland, it is absolutely incredible. You guys could go there with no interest in EDM and still have one of the best weekends of your life.

Also if you're feeling spicy, electric forrest in Michigan is NUTS. Definitely worth the long trip.
Ynot is a brilliant festival, I go every single year with my mates. The way you guys talk about Kendal is very similar to my experiences at Ynot. Good vibes all around, quite a lot of families and tickets are super cheap on the early bird and lower tiers - I got mine for £150 with early entry. Last year the capacity was increased to 40k and they added DJs on the Friday and Saturday nights after the headliners (this year it's Faithless and Hannah Wants). It's well organised and growing steadily. Give it a go at some point! Great pod as always.

Respectfully you're wrong about Rebellion... The people at this festival are amazing..the staff are super helpful.... band members can always be found in the crowd supporting their mates on the circuit and if it pisses it down it's mostly indoors 👍

A lot/almost all the genres in the DJ scene require festivals to keep all artist names in alphabetical order and with the names the same font size. It's enforced by the agents heavily, whereas the artists probably wouldn't care
Wacken is the typical step up for most Downloaders getting bored of Download/Uk fests. Then Grasspop, then Hellfest.

Location is unreal, it’s like a mini world away from everything. Attention to detail is top notch.
Getting tickets is near impossible so regular tickets are cheap. But the only way to guarantee tickets is through Global Journey which does include travel makes the ticket a lot more expensive.
Prices don’t fluctuate badly. They have a presale where tickets are a little cheaper than regular sale and that’s it.

Spent 900 quid 10 year ago to go Tomorrowland on the party flight. Music blaring and drink - worth it for the novelty, no idea how much that'd be now

tomorrowland is one of those festivals that spend millions on building weird massive art installations so the grounds would probs be amazing

The festivals in blocks would have been a better approach, I feel, found myself skipping through. So metal/rock festivals then rap/hip hop, and so on other than that great episode great chat many laughs :)

Wireless is a bit of a sketchy one. Has a…strange vibe. Seen some mad stuff in there as well, a couple incidents - not ideal. I’ve been twice and wouldn’t go again. I love hip-hop though and think the line-ups are always strong. Definitely worthwhile experiencing if you like that sort of music

You need to look at Rock Werchter and Roskilde, one of them is almost the best lineup ever and one is absolute shit for the exact same price the exact same weekend, I think youll figure out which is which.

Like you noticed at Boomtown there's a lot of weirdos (the good kind), whereas Tomorrowland looks like an influencer festival to me. Personally I'd never pay to see a load of USB DJ's. I want to see talented bands and DJs and something a bit different. Boomtown will release the line-up the same week as the festival because they want people to come for the party, not the line-up. Having said this, it's my favourite line-up every year. This year will be my 6th!
Tomorrowland is mental. Its thee Dance Music festival. One of the craziest festivals ever. Boomtown are great with their theatrics but TL take it even further. Its the top dog.

You should come to Hurricane Festival this year! The 1975 are playing which is why I’m going
Soo tomorrowland!!! Absolutely insane! But it is expensive and the crown size is massively bigger than 70,000 it’s close to 200,000 each weekend. Food cost a lot and if you like EDM it’s the festival you wanna go too. Better then coachella. You guys need to come to the tomorrowland winter version they do in March in the french alpes. Boomtown doesn’t come anywhere near to TML. But getting tickets is so friggin hard. Terms of line up they don’t all play both weekends. But MainStage is only 1hr sets then the other stages are 1hr to 1hr30. With only a handful playing 2hr sets.

To explain Tomorrowland to non "EDM" fans, it is to dance music what Busted is to rock. It makes money but its not a real reflection of the scene. Its pop music with a sprinkling of the underground. EDC is even worse.
It is totally subjective but personally clubbing isnt really suited to festivals, its much better in a club/rave limited to a few hundred people. And thats coming from someone that went to Crasher, Gods Kitchen, Global Gathering, Creamfields, SW4 etc in the 90s/2000s.

Just started watching Pod as well as the vids. Love the energy most of the time but cant help but feel the arguments and negative comments about the format detract a bit, the arguments and negative comments about each other are jokes but complaining about the format of the thing people are listening to doesnt make me wanna carry on too too much if that makes sense? Also saying you're bored or distracted is a bit like okkkkkk. Obviously personal opinion but know you like to hear from people about what you do sometimes! Love to TPD
