My old boss would have fixed the dent for free and blended the back door. He keeps his customers forever and he has the same shop since 1994. He always said, make the customer happy and you will have good word of mouth and they will comeback forever. I know it is not easy today with the insurance companies to even get paid right even on the damage the vehicle came in for so it is tough to do what he does.

Also make sure you get some 1000 metal prep wipes.. it’s the best way to treat the bare metal! They also have 801-74 and 801-76 so you can make epoxy sealer like you did with your bare metal wet on wet jobs! It works well

Amazing video Kandy Man I found this very interesting, the Glasurit system looks like it's going to be good as the first job came out superb, it must seem strange to use the spectro for every job and not have any colour chips, the manufacture must be very confident that the spectro is spot on every time as some painters I know that use a different paint line don't trust the camera to give accurate results🤔
You are doing a great job so far Kandy Man, once the first job is out the booth it can only get better👏🙏👍John UK

I know it’s a bit of a push back all the comments are sweet. Seems like a handful of extra steps. From the last video and this with the cleaner. No chips, camera only, e coat cleaner for help with adhesion, multiple hardeners. One and done. I wonder if it’s cheaper than PPG? I used to talk stuff about PPG but the guy who knows it is worth his weight in gold. Those cameras are not always that accurate. We will see with time. I might eat my words but that’s ok. They weren’t too bitter 😅. Love the content though. Good stuff. You’ll figure it out….ohh and the shake. Lol

I’m really enjoying this switch over content, I spray Standox waterborne which is a 1.5 coat system. It would be very hard to re coat a silver after it’s dried, so that tells me the BASF works a little differently than the Axalta systems. Interesting

  • @bodyshopsolutions695

Your weather is different than mine since I’m in Indiana.. but I would spray that silver with the mb40 mixing clear and reducer..
I don’t think they gave you the extreme slow mb40 but I would at least use the 10x and the mb50x
The slower drying the better for laying out the metallic on the big panels like the hoods etc! I’m sure you noticed it tries to dry before you can do your orientation coat. The slower mixing clear and reducer helps a lot with that.
Also just know that the sealer color recommendations are system generated and not field tested. So i will deviate from that recommendation at times. That silver the way you sprayed it would have covered better over one shade darker (L02)
I also find that the darker reds like RR and wa434b cover everytime over L01 but the system will recommend lighter like L03.. so definitely don’t be afraid to play with that!
The wetter the better on that base! Just have to watch going to wet into the wet bed.. it will cause the base to fish eye on you! I like the mb40 wet bed the best it sprays clear and stays wet the longest! My booths have blowers built in the walls and we have an air drying system so our set up drys extremely fast.. so my recommendations might not apply to your set up exactly the same..
I like the 460 clear with the 93 hardener and the 216 reducer.. give the slow reducer a shot definitely being in Florida it will post flow a little more
I also like the high solid 255 clear for the best overall appearance and hold out
Hope this helps man.. you have taught me a lot and I appreciate your videos
Can’t wait for the next one

Yeah this new glasurit is very similar to cromax pro if not exactly the same interms off application , but one thing i noticed that when you applied a second coat you could lay it down wet , with cromax that dryed first layer would just suck that second coat and you could not get it that wet , so if you had a light metallic like this and had a problem in the first coat and its dry you where better off clearing it and redo it because that would be mottle city , atleast in my experience, so plus points for glasurit , cromax is also very and i mean very difficult to blend on silver doors any other color or panel you would be okay but damn do i hate that system sometimes

I’m a little jealous because I wanted to use 100 Line in my shop but it’s too expensive for the volume of work in the shop I work for so I’m using 90 Line and have been nothing but impressed I can’t imagine how easy and fast the 100 Line is!!!!

Great video, i do like the wet application and drop coat all in one go, it looks like it would when its clear coated so you can sort of see what the end results will be , its a lot to think about making sure its wet at all times, what would happen if you had a small area to rectify, would you have to wet the whole panel again or can you blow a bit in.
Always liked Glasurit products but i can't afford it at my small shop, Glasurit fade out thinner is the best ive ever used its like magic nothing else on the market is like it , can you show a video using that

You could really tell how much you were struggling to slow up with the base 🫣 (hard to change habits!) , they're such different paints (ppg and glas) I reckon it'll take a couple days to get confident! . Biggest issue I had using glasurit is matching factory peel , it took me a couple weeks to stop laying it down like glass 😳
