    Such a sad sad day this was. I was working at Universal Studios at the time and I remember it was like Time stood still... Everyone around was on edge to hear his outcome... I remember you can hear the ambulance from our back lot while they rushed him to the Hospital... He was just a born natural to do slap stick Comedy just like Lucille Ball... Truly missed but never forgotten 💛

      @awopbopaloobopawopbamboom5041 Před rokem +1

      He has a more grand memorial - the body of fantastic work that he left behind for his fans to watch, enjoy and cherish!!!
      His actual grave and headstone are for his family really - and I'm sure, like everybody else, they wanted something dignified and not ostentatious or in your face, as while they understand that people will inevitably visit his grave to pay their respects, they'd probably rather not turn it into a neon bright tourist attraction that's highly inappropriate, y'know?!....

    Suzanne Somers mistakenly assumed that she was the star of the show playing the ditzy blond. She found out eventually that she was replaceable. John Ritter was the star of Threes Company and could not be replaced. Everyone watched the show because Jack made them laugh. John Ritter was a comedic powerhouse that everyone loved.

    pps: my sister was an RN in the ER Dept at the hospital where John passed. She wasn’t on duty at the time, she had just moved out of state. But what she did understand by her coworkers, was that he came in with a torn and hemorrhaging aorta, which is and can be suddenly fatal, as it was in John’s case. This is very different from typical “heart attack” symptoms which are often overlooked and sadly ignored, when time is of the essence. His widow’s grief is certainly understandable, but when he came in, there wasn’t much they could do, with the blood loss and damage (especially thinking it was food poisoning all day on the set). Very, very sad case, and the whole staff felt it. He was known to the hospital and well liked.

      Yes he was correct i am a part of the 10% of dissected Aorta survivors and it is pretty hard for most Emergency Room people to figure out what is going on in my case they ruled out a heart attack pretty quickly but i had to keep convincing people that i knew something was wrong eventually a cardiologist wound up seeing something on a X-ray he thought was wrong i also thought originally thought i had food poisoning as well i had this happen not long after John Ritters publicized death and i did have many nurses and doctors refer to him At the time so on top of him being a loved Actor and comedian I believe he did a lot of awareness for the torn Aorta and actually helped save my life by making medical personal More on alert of a not very common deadly medical condition at least in that time era

    Back in 2003 i was supposed to go to LA and attend a live taping of "8 simple rules" and I was so excited because I had always been a huge fan of John Ritter since I was a kid and now I was gonna see him in person! But then I got an e-mail about a week before the taping that said that live taping was cancelled because John Ritter had passed away - I was about as dissapointed as you can get - John Ritter was a great beacon of light and a comedic genius that was taken from us way too early - now I'll be singing the theme from Three's Company all day long - Come on knock on our door...

    I had the honor of skiing w/ John’s older brother in our handicapped ski program at Pierce College in the 80’s. I was a blind and handicapped ski instructor, and we took his brother up on the beginners slope at Mountain High. Although physically he struggled, but he did well, and we hoped that his balance was helped with our working with him. Im very grateful to him for helping me propel into my career as a physical therapist. A true gentleman who stood tall by his perseverance!

    That is hard to believe that John Ritter has been gone since 2003. I always enjoyed watching him whether it was on TV or the movies. Even my father after he retired could not get enough of Three's Company reruns and watched it daily. What a lovable guy taken too soon. I loved his epitaph on his gravestone how fitting for him. With a torn aorta, isn't that was killed Princess Diana? not sure anything could have been done to help him survive that. Rest in peace John you are loved and missed by many. And yes I can see the resemblance of your Dad and John Ritter.

    Happy to learn that three of my favorite slap stick comedians were laid to rest in Forest Lawn. The great John Ritter is still in a three’s company situation, as far as I’m concerned,
    with Laurel and Keaton. I first saw him as a minister in The Waltons. He never disappointed with whatever role, dramatic or comedic, he took on. Once, he turned in a fantastic performance in an episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Thanks for the tribute to an excellent actor and a wonderful human being!

    Three's Company was in it's first run when I was a child less than 10. My parents and grandparents, who were the people with whom I spent the bulk of my time, did not care for the show and felt it was "dirty", or at least that is how they tried to explain it to me with my limited vocabulary. I realize now the show was pushing the boundaries of time period and my family was uncomfortable with the sexual jokes and undertones. For years, I felt John Ritter was a "dirty" man, which I realized after seeing an interview where another actor praised Ritter in my late teen years was an opinion I had accepted, but was not my opinion because I knew nothing about the man. For me, John Ritter is my personal example of a rule I live by: Do Not Blindly Accept the Opinions of Others as Your Own

    I was 19 when Three's Company premiered on TV. My grandfather thought it was scandalous that a guy was living with two girls on a TV show! He wouldn't allow us to watch Laugh-In in his house, either :) Anyway, we were all crazy about the show back then and especially John. On a side note, Joyce DeWitt was appearing in my city in a Christmas play back in 2010 or 2011. My office was across the street from the theater. I was walking back to my office from an errand and there she was...standing next to a lamp post, smoking a cigarette, taking a break! I totally fangirled at age 58 LOL I ran up to her, welcomed her to our town and gave her a big hug! She was a total sweetheart. I've seen everyone out and about from Ringo Starr to Leon Russell and I've never fangirled...EVER! But, I did for Joyce :) Miss those great days of television. Thanks, Jordan. RIP John

    I remember John Ritter from Three's Company, watching it when i was 10 years old. He was unique and everything you described. Definitly the type of character/person that was infectious and drew you to instantly to like him. A bright shining soul that could brighten up just about anybody's day. The timing of the prime of his career/life in the 70's and 80's was perfect. I remember when he died and it was announced on the news, it was definitly a sad "Oh No, not John Ritter" moment.
    Oh and coincidentally his birthday September 17th is the same as mine.

    Awww, Jah is so cute! Such a sweet story of John Ritter telling his dad about his favorite singer and actor. Nice California house he grew up in. Hahahahaa! Hilarious about politics, lying and acting. I never knew he was acted and was involved in the other shows mentioned in here. Jordan, I love your videos. You are such a beautiful person who demonstrates respect and warmth for the people and places you vlog. Wow! Your dad really does look like John Ritter! Thank you. 🕊❤️🌺

    John Ritter was one of those very few entertainers that are so beloved that you never hear any scandalous or negative things about(even over a decade + after his death). He had such a kind look about him, yet he was very talented & pulled off negative roles effortlessly. Thank You for creating & posting this. You can tell you were a fan of his & very passionate about making this. This is the first time seeing one of your videos & I subscribed & look forward to see what you do in the future. ❤❤ My only suggestion would be is to close the video with the grave site vs going there right after Hollywood High School. Again great video can't wait to see more of your creativity. ❤

    Loved John Ritter. Thought he was the best there was. And I loved his Dad as well, the old Cowboy singer Tex Ritter who sang, "Blood On The Saddle".

    Interesting vlog. I didn't know John had a brother. Beautiful mural of John on Hollywood High. I remember John in Three's Company. I know there was a lot in the news about John's death and them saying it didn't have to happen and then his wife filed a malpractice lawsuit against 2 of his doctors. Sad end to a fun man. Thank you for this nice tribute to John.
