Associate Minister of Music/Organist Jeff Brummel played Albert Malotte's "The Lord's Prayer" as the prelude to Wilshire's worship service on March 7, 2021.
As a member growing up in Johnson's Ferry Baptist Church ('86 -'99). This takes me back there. Bryant Wright ended every sermon with a prayer and this in a build up with the choir and organ. We ended every service with, "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory - forever! Amen." Since then I've lived in 4 states, attended many Baptist and other denominational services but nothing comes close to this with an organ. When I moved back from Alaska ('16) I discovered almost all churches now do "contemporary" stuff with, well... let's just say I'm not inspired or called to that. I'm only 42, but it feels strange to have aged-out of church experience that resonates with me spiritually. :(
@@WilshireBaptist I don't know when or if I will be back there anytime soon; if I am - y'all are first on the list to do outside of work. I don't suppose you have any recommendations in Easley or Greenville, SC? I know it is a stretch - but you had the courtesy and kindness to respond. :)
Wonderful. Thankyou x
