@@L10kwnsns There is one section in gnome forest where you literally need to perfect it in order to keep the combo (or you can spend your super taunt to gain an extra second) so P-Rank is HELL to do because of that (at least it's before Pillar John)
My only issue with Saloon is the race between you and Horsey isn’t telegraphed enough in my opinion, I’ve seen too many players not understand the situation and end up losing a Toppin or two before they know what happened. If the game doesn’t give more indication for the race taking place, you should at least be able to reset the room. Edit: This comment is 4 months old. I speedrun the game now. I still think horsey could be conveyed a little better but it's not a big deal. Thanks :)
@@Flameonoodle I just have never enjoyed stealth sections, and even though you can defeat most of the enemies before their countdown ends it's still not fun imo to have to slow down to do so. The jumpscares aren't even scary since you know exactly when you're gonna get jumpscared, they're just annoying (the Oktoberfest one is legendary though) I know many people love the level and I'm not saying it's objectively bad, it's just not for me.

I’m not asking to be handed anything, I reset the level when I missed a toppin due to not understanding a race was happening. I’ve seen many players do the same. I don’t think that makes it good design, it’s an easy fix to just make the race a little more apparent to the player.
Saloon's actually my favorite stage in the game. The reason you probably disliked it is because it's one of the stages most built for speedrunning, and there's movement tech in the game you're not outright told. Like being able to cancel a dive or shoulder spark with down + jump, or being able to cancel a run jump with back + grab. If you incorporate those two moves into your movement, things like the vents stop being an issue since you can slam on the brakes in mid-air
Personally even without that tech I think the time you have to beat the horse is pretty lenient. In the ventilator room it's not a big deal as long as you use the downward slam to make up for the time lost falling into the ventilator and to run up walls so that you don't waste time with the last few ventilators (which bartek at night managed to do with ease in the footage so I'm not sure why he said this room bothered him so much).
Fastfood Saloon is honesty my favorite level, from a not-casual perspective. It’s one of the levels that really encourage you to speed through the whole thing in one go. This is helped by the fact that the “gimmicks” for the level (weenie mount/horsie race) don’t interrupt the main gameplay too much. The horse race is literally “just go fast without bonking” and the sections the weenie mount is in are pretty straightforward and allow you to get to top speeds fast. The air ducts and timed buttons *are* annoying, but as long as you know where they’re going to appear, you just need to know when to take it slow for a second
The Pig City is such a brilliant level. The gags are hilarious, all 3 songs are absolute bangers, Gustavo and Brick feel far more well used and balanced against peppino here compared to Gnome forest, the mechanics work seamlessly and are pretty intuitive to work with and master. The jelly filled donut, man. GOD, I love this game.
Gnome Forest does gameplay and Gustavo better. It's not more used in pig city than gnome forest. And im not just saying that cause i like bartek, infact - i hate his guts.

Many people dislike it. Bad players say its because its annoying, good players because they say the P rank took them a lot of time to get. Personally I haven't tried to P rank the level yet so my experience is solely based on getting through it on a casual run + the chef tasks. Its easily in my top 5 favourite levels and the best in World 4 by far.

I think the horse is intuitive, there's literally a flag used in races as a final point, and the first race is so easy, that you will probably win by accident
Honestly, I think there should be a little visual pop-up when the race starts and ends, similar to the "It's pizza time" or "Lap 2" pop ups. As is, while the horse, flag and gun are very easy to see ONCE you know they're there, i totally get some people think it's just background, and the gun sound is too easy to miss. A nice little "RACE !!!" graphic popping up would help a lot with clarifying exactly what just happened for new players.
30:59 Gustavo's spin attack reminds me of Rayman's dash attack from Rayman origins. It's so satisfying to do and it also gives lots of speed if it's preferred correctly. I'm not knew exactly how Gustavo's one feels, since...paywalls.
War personally is my favourite, just the concept of removing the ability of going slowly is already a factor onto why I love it, when you get that s/p rank tho is the icing on the cake, the scents aren't even secrets as well but the way its placed makes you feel like a boss when you beat one when you still have time

In a previous comment, I stated that I really liked fast food saloon. I still agree, I have more to say about all the levels. I thought Gnome forest was ok, but I wouldn't call it my favorite or the best. WAR was a BANGER. I beat it on my first attempt ever (somehow) which made me feel like I was decent at video games. Crumbling Tower was a fun victory lap, and I got to save Snotty! Crust Cove was the only level I lost, because of those darn barrels. Finally, Don't Make A Sound had me saying very goofy lines the entire time on stream. Ex: "Whoever made this pizzeria was probably purple" "You cannot scare me, for I have a 12 gauge shotgun" "OMG FREDDY FNAFBEAR?!?!?1?"
My least favorite level was "Ancient Cheese." It's a very easy, and boring level. And the escape sequence really made me frustrated. It was a terrible level. My favorite was "The Pig City." Loved the rundown, and scummy City atmosphere, and the way you get the pizza topings in the cage's was really cool and unique. And Gustavo and Brick. A very good list btw. Keep making videos. I don't doubt you'll make it one day!

I love FF saloon! I'm not kidding, I like this level legitimately! The enemies were funny, I like the little weenie mount, I found the time trials and the wooden horse not bad, and THE MUSIC OH MY GOSH WHO MADE THIS, GOD HIMSELF?!?! Reminder: I am still on my first playthrough, but I still think that it's a very fun level and GOSH THE MUSIC I CAN'T GET OVER IT I WANT TO BE A COWBOY RIGHT NOW
a lot of people hate any gimmick that slows you down (e.g. the golf mini game) but I liked the changes of pace and they're all easy to figure out + master. besides the barrel one maybe, that messes me up every time. :/
The only problem with Fast Food Saloon in my opinion is the horse. It was one of the two levels i had to play more than once to get the toppins and on your first run you probably won’t 1. Notice the horse 2. Notice you are racing the horse Or 3. Understand how the mechanics work well enough to beat the horse. I only had to play every race a second time to get the toppins but it was still pretty annoying.

Do you really consider Don't Make a Sound more difficult to P rank than most of the game (That's what I read your comment as)? I'm genuinely curious since people seem to have mixed opinions about things in this game. I haven't gotten all P ranks yet and IDK if I ever will. RN I only P ranked Worlds 1 and 5 (aside from Pizzascare but I'm working on it. That ending before the exit can s**k a d**k.)

World 4 and Gnome Forest from 3 are the hardest ones to P-rank, especially the godforsaken fridge (my last P-rank). Gnome Forest has one area with no collectibles or enemies, and it’s ungodly precise. The fridge…do I need to explain how every damned pit ruins your run? Shoutout to Oh Shit! for being Gallant Goon’s anathema.
@@trashman4500 I've made a TON of progress with my P ranks yesterday due to having a lot of free time and getting really into the game. I have now P ranked all of worlds 1, 2 and 5 along with Gnome Forest and Pig City. Don't Make a Sound was harder than most levels but Gnome Forest and Pizza Scare are on a league of their own. Bloodsauce Dungeon as well.. Gnome Forest took me nearly an hour and a half to P rank. The annoying thing is that the level is MASSIVE and you need to spend 5 minutes just to reach the part that you need to do perfectly that you mentioned in your comment. Then there is that damn secret literally seconds before the end of the level.. Oh and I hate the cactus enemies so much. Pizza Scare took me a bit longer to P rank and while its brutal I think its much better designed. Out of the 6 levels I haven't tried to P rank yet, everyone seems to consider the Fridge to be the hardest so I'm going to tackle it next..
@@trashman4500 RRFreezerator is BRUTAL. The 2nd lap caught me off guard. The stage ultimately took me 110 minutes, nearly 2 hours to P rank. Much more than Gnome Forest.
And why is that? The level is linear, has good transformations, interesting gimmicks, a challenging P Rank, short and sweet, and is not that hard to play normally. What is there not to like about it?
on ancient cheese, I couldn't beat it for the longest time because Gustavo tells you to run up a wall AND NOBODY TELLS YOU TO TURN AROUND AFTER THAT! so my dumb ass thought that I should continue going the way he points and never try turning around... I am a complete idiot I know.
Fast food Saloon was annoying to beat. If you let that horse beat you in the race, you have to restart the entire level I’d you’re trying to get all the toppings in one go and the time gates aren’t any better.
The only level I would definitely put at my number 20 is Wasteyard. The ghost ability is kinda nice and the chase against Ghost John is a nice twist on the formula you got used to in the first floor, but I think its the one level where I think it holds itself back with its gimmicks. You dont really *do* anything with the ghost ability, and even then all you can do is move. Plus the corpse surfing is pretty funny, but other stages use a similar gimmick in more fun situations. It's still a really fun stage, but it plays itself too safe despite it all. I actually really like Fastfood Saloon, after playing it a few times for the secrets and to simply improve my high score, it wound up being one of my favorite stages tbh But yes I will admit the rideable sausage was pretty awkward my first run through the stage.
Also the circle guys in the refrigerator level (another one of my favorites tbh) are literally frozen pizzas Peppino's getting those mid DiGiorno pizzas out of here in the name of local pizza place supremacy
Honestly my biggest issue with Crust Cove, is that unlike other levels that allow mistakes with P ranks, it allows zero, you pretty much always need to use super taunt when you get hit, and then theres the treasure room which was put in a spot that you can run past really easily. The Barrel section also has to be done perfectly, hovewer, because of how unfair it is, it becomes sdtremely satisfying to actually p rank this, oh and also you get so much points that Getting S rank is pretty easy
S rank being easy? I don't know about that one - I got all secrets, the treasure, did the lap 2, got all toppins, and got consistent 20-30 combos and I fell about 400 points short... :( and I made sure to pick up alllll the treasure chests and the timer clocks along the way
@@sorengaming1541 It's not enough. I never had a problem with that because - you mostly need the FULL combo for the points if ur going for an s rank, which you would be getting a p rank anyway.
Seeing Saloon was your least favorite was not a surprise at all. As someone whose favorite song is Yeehaw Deliveryboy, I cannot stress enough how terrible this level is. Wind mechanics are the bane of my existence, and complimented with the fact the level starts and stops REPEATEDLY because of how easily momentum is killed thanks to getting on weenie and having to dismount, it is an incredibly jarring and uncomfortable level with more speed bumps than a church parking lot.

Despite all the jokes, Fast Food Saloon is a good level and let me tell you why - The ventilators still allows you to wall jump, which is seen in your gameplay so you are directly contradicting your own statement!?!?!?!? Horsey is not annoying in any section, if you are good at that section, If you were able to jump off the weenie mount easier it would just be annoying because that part is built off of jumping off it. Timed gate is a test of skill - you know what that means! Also i'm gonna be honest - i dont think any level in pizza tower is bad. They all are good. Saying that one is better is fair but saying that one is bad is downright proposterous.

Don't Make a Sound, WAR, The Pig City, Deep Dish 9 and Oregano Desert are some of my favorite levels while Bloodsauce Dungeon and Golf just aren't all that fun imo. Well, Bloodsauce Dungeon's escape and shadow section are cool but otherwise I'm not a huge fan.

Controversial but i dont like the way gustavo and brick control, the wall jump is kind of annoying and the aceleration has something wrong that i cannot describe, if it werent for them i would have loved pig city.

I thought Gnome forest was ok, but I wouldn't call it my favorite or the best. WAR was a BANGER. I beat it on my first attempt ever (somehow) which made me feel like I was decent at video games. Crumbling Tower was a fun victory lap, and I got to save Snotty! Crust Cove was the only level I lost, because of those darn barrels. Finally, Don't Make A Sound had me saying very goofy lines the entire time on stream. Ex:
"Whoever made this pizzeria was probably purple"
"You cannot scare me, for I have a 12 gauge shotgun"
"OMG FREDDY FNAFBEAR?!?!?1?"
Do the P-Rank on gnome forest! its super hard and challenging and fun and will change the opinion you have on the level for the better!
My least favorite level was "Ancient Cheese." It's a very easy, and boring level. And the escape sequence really made me frustrated. It was a terrible level.
My favorite was "The Pig City." Loved the rundown, and scummy City atmosphere, and the way you get the pizza topings in the cage's was really cool and unique. And Gustavo and Brick.

I love FF saloon! I'm not kidding, I like this level legitimately! The enemies were funny, I like the little weenie mount, I found the time trials and the wooden horse not bad, and THE MUSIC OH MY GOSH WHO MADE THIS, GOD HIMSELF?!?!

a lot of people hate any gimmick that slows you down (e.g. the golf mini game) but I liked the changes of pace and they're all easy to figure out + master. besides the barrel one maybe, that messes me up every time. :/

The only problem with Fast Food Saloon in my opinion is the horse. It was one of the two levels i had to play more than once to get the toppins and on your first run you probably won’t

3. Understand how the mechanics work well enough to beat the horse.
I only had to play every race a second time to get the toppins but it was still pretty annoying.

I actually like fast-food saloon, but I still agree, the horse is an asshole and makes want to kill him, but besides him, the level is really nice, and good.

Great vid, even if I disagree with a LOT of this list (Fast Food Saloon being worse than the fridge is blasphemy, the forest being 1st is insane for it being one of my personal least favorites, dont make a sound is one of my top 5 and the clownmatos fit IMO, among others). Glad to see love for even the levels you dislike, and yeah, the bad rats are cute.

Do you really consider Don't Make a Sound more difficult to P rank than most of the game (That's what I read your comment as)? I'm genuinely curious since people seem to have mixed opinions about things in this game. I haven't gotten all P ranks yet and IDK if I ever will. RN I only P ranked Worlds 1 and 5 (aside from Pizzascare but I'm working on it. That ending before the exit can s**k a d**k.)
@@panthekirb7561 Tell you the truth, Don’t Make A Sound is not a particularly hard P-rank compared to the actual problem levels, I just said that to be funny. World 4 and Gnome Forest from 3 are the hardest ones to P-rank, especially the godforsaken fridge (my last P-rank). Gnome Forest has one area with no collectibles or enemies, and it’s ungodly precise. The fridge…do I need to explain how every damned pit ruins your run? Shoutout to Oh Shit! for being Gallant Goon’s anathema.
@@trashman4500 I've made a TON of progress with my P ranks yesterday due to having a lot of free time and getting really into the game.
I have now P ranked all of worlds 1, 2 and 5 along with Gnome Forest and Pig City.
Don't Make a Sound was harder than most levels but Gnome Forest and Pizza Scare are on a league of their own. Bloodsauce Dungeon as well..
Gnome Forest took me nearly an hour and a half to P rank. The annoying thing is that the level is MASSIVE and you need to spend 5 minutes just to reach the part that you need to do perfectly that you mentioned in your comment. Then there is that damn secret literally seconds before the end of the level.. Oh and I hate the cactus enemies so much. Pizza Scare took me a bit longer to P rank and while its brutal I think its much better designed.
Out of the 6 levels I haven't tried to P rank yet, everyone seems to consider the Fridge to be the hardest so I'm going to tackle it next..

@@trashman4500 RRFreezerator is BRUTAL. The 2nd lap caught me off guard. The stage ultimately took me 110 minutes, nearly 2 hours to P rank. Much more than Gnome Forest.

And why is that? The level is linear, has good transformations, interesting gimmicks, a challenging P Rank, short and sweet, and is not that hard to play normally. What is there not to like about it?

Fast food Saloon was annoying to beat. If you let that horse beat you in the race, you have to restart the entire level I’d you’re trying to get all the toppings in one go and the time gates aren’t any better.
I love every level the level I hate is not even a level it’s just the entirety of floor 2 like I HATE FLOOR 2!,
The only level I would definitely put at my number 20 is Wasteyard. The ghost ability is kinda nice and the chase against Ghost John is a nice twist on the formula you got used to in the first floor, but I think its the one level where I think it holds itself back with its gimmicks. You dont really *do* anything with the ghost ability, and even then all you can do is move. Plus the corpse surfing is pretty funny, but other stages use a similar gimmick in more fun situations. It's still a really fun stage, but it plays itself too safe despite it all. I actually really like Fastfood Saloon, after playing it a few times for the secrets and to simply improve my high score, it wound up being one of my favorite stages tbh
But yes I will admit the rideable sausage was pretty awkward my first run through the stage.
Also the circle guys in the refrigerator level (another one of my favorites tbh) are literally frozen pizzas

Honestly my biggest issue with Crust Cove, is that unlike other levels that allow mistakes with P ranks, it allows zero, you pretty much always need to use super taunt when you get hit, and then theres the treasure room which was put in a spot that you can run past really easily. The Barrel section also has to be done perfectly, hovewer, because of how unfair it is, it becomes sdtremely satisfying to actually p rank this, oh and also you get so much points that Getting S rank is pretty easy
S rank being easy? I don't know about that one - I got all secrets, the treasure, did the lap 2, got all toppins, and got consistent 20-30 combos and I fell about 400 points short... :( and I made sure to pick up alllll the treasure chests and the timer clocks along the way
@@sorengaming1541 It's not enough. I never had a problem with that because - you mostly need the FULL combo for the points if ur going for an s rank, which you would be getting a p rank anyway.
Seeing Saloon was your least favorite was not a surprise at all. As someone whose favorite song is Yeehaw Deliveryboy, I cannot stress enough how terrible this level is. Wind mechanics are the bane of my existence, and complimented with the fact the level starts and stops REPEATEDLY because of how easily momentum is killed thanks to getting on weenie and having to dismount, it is an incredibly jarring and uncomfortable level with more speed bumps than a church parking lot.
I just wish this game had more time in the oven to just make saloon actually good, or perhaps even add mansion in some way…

Don't get the Mort hook (or Pencer) hate. Not very hard to use imo. Don't Make a Sound, WAR, The Pig City, Deep Dish 9 and Oregano Desert are some of my favorite levels while Bloodsauce Dungeon and Golf just aren't all that fun imo. Well, Bloodsauce Dungeon's escape and shadow section are cool but otherwise I'm not a huge fan.
