  • I decided to get myself a Cinematic FPV Racing Drone for Filmmaking and in this video I talk about the reasons why I decided to step into the FPV world and use it as a Filmmaking tool. In this video I also show the Drone Setup that I am going to use to start this, you can find the links below, if you are interested in the Gear. Thank you for watching :)

    FPV isn't something you learn overnight. We're gonna be waiting a while for you to come up with some decent B-roll. You need to learn angle mode, acro mode, air mode. How to tune your quad in betaflight with PID's. Your Radio is going to need setting up, binding, configuring. You will need to learn battery chemistry, when to land so you don't puff your battery, how to charge them properly without exploding. VTX troubleshooting, finding the best channel, best antenna and best wattage. Learning and mastering soldering tiny things, because you WILL be soldering to make these films. Replacing parts, rewiring things, breaking things when trying to fix things, crashing over and over and over and over. A year from now you'll probably watch this video and think still wish you didn't upload it. oh yeah, also don't forget the hours and hours of simulator flights. But in the end, when you're GF has left you, you've spent all your time and money on trying to get that first decent shot, and you pull it off, its all worth it!

      Hi, thanks for the tips, well I am aware of the fact that this is going to be very hard, but I´m not discouraged by the difficulties, actually that is what excites me, I love the challenge. If it was easy it would be so boring. Just yesterday I spent 4 hours trying to figure out how to bind the Receiver with the Radio and now I finally got it right. So I think at some point I will get some good looking Footage :)

      @@HannesEngl ehh, just realize that the people using FPV for "film making" have been flying FPV for years, not a couple weeks. You don't start out in FPV wanting to use it for filmmaking, you start out wanting to build and bash and race. Once you get good at that stuff you might luck out and get some cinematic shots with a gopro strapped onto your racing quad. But this could be years out, not days or weeks like you may assume. Talk to me once you've put 100 hours into a sim, or even 50 hours onto a quad without breaking a single part. Hell If you can fly a dozen packs without crashing within your first year of trying FPV, well good luck hahaha!

      @Mothy I'm a teenager who wants to get into fpv. I was wondering if 9 months on the simulator before buying the drone would be enough to learn to pilot it? And if you would have any tips? Thanks in advance.

    • @imothy
      @imothy Před 3 lety

      @@leirishboy the sooner you get your first quad the better. Get a tiny whoop, they are indoor quads and don't hurt anybody. You can learn acro on one and all the other things that come with fpv. Goggles, batteries, chargers, soldering, 3d printing, acro mode, PID tuning, upgrading, carrying different micro cameras, post production, editing, stabilizing footage, color grading, the list goes on and on. Get into it asap, a sim will help you learn tricks and boost confidence. But if you think you wanna shoot movies, give yourself a good 2-3 years of daily flying / crashing / repairing, and then you might be able to get some good shots that look worthy of cinema!

      @@SoKoZ Jumper t16 pro hall v2 is very good and it can bind to multiple different receivers, for goggles, if you want cheap ones, you should use the skyzone sky o2c, but if you want to spend more, probably orqa fpv.one with a rapidfire receiver, this receiver goes in the goggles, the sky o2cs have one built in, but you should really do your own research, check out Joshua bardwell and fly many hours in a simulator in acro mode so that you don't crash immediately

  • @dario_hxc
    @dario_hxc Před 4 lety +1

    You are gonna break if you go full speed through those pillars; so, fyi, the most important part of this hobby/sport is to know how to repair the quad, cause you are gonna crash a lot. Get extra props!
    There are LOTS of quad gurus out there... Check out Joshua Bardwell’s channel, he has a video for EVERYTHING you should know. He is the fpv know it all.
    Also, please get a simulator before you start flying that sweet nazgul you got. Get a few hours on the sim before you go out and break it.
    Tschüss und viel Spaß beim Fliegen!

    Just be aware that FPV takes a lot of time and effort to get the cinematic shots that you're hoping for. You're going to break that quad multiple times before you can fly well enough to produce content that is worth watching. Take your time, do research, learn to repair your quads and get on a simulator. With that said, It's awesome to have you in the hobby man!

    • @HannesEngl

    Dont bother flying in level mode/angle or horizon. Go straight to a simulator and fly in acro. I wouldn't even plan on flying it untill you've got several hours on a simulator or your gonna break stuff get discouraged...my 2 cents lol
